Roy counters the critical hit, retaliating with a burning iaijutsu slash that will send the intended damage back at Zephiel with a slight increase.

Mario jumps up and slams Kishuna into the ground beneath his legs (down throw), dealing damage while releasing him.

PORTALS ! PORTALS ! PORTALS ! PORTALS ! PORTALS ! ARIRIRIR ! URURURURURURURU ! URURURURURURU ! PORTALS ! THE DRAGON IS DEAD AND SO IS THE GENERAL ! THE HOODED MAN RUNNING AWAY ! URURURURURU ! yells Doppio, causing a confused Gregor to bring him along as he attempt to help the evacuation. This does leave Lucina alone but she deftly dodge the spear and attempts to swiftly hit the rider and his mount with an upward sword slash, attempting to exploit her weapon's ability.

Take this ! Falchion is effective against such creatures !

Flying to the left in order to narrowly evade the oncoming Silver Lance, Nicole attempts to grab the spear's shaft and hurl Glen towards Valter with all her might in order to aid Lucina.

Zephiel gets countered, to his shock, and falls on the ground. He looks up at Roy as he fades.

“...I am defeated... But remember this... My will shall never die... As long as humans retain control, madness will reign...”

He then turns back into a card.

Kishuna is then thrown onto the ground, wincing painfully for a moment.

"..."

He then teleports away, having left the battlefield entirely, and taking his magic seal with him.

Valter's wyvern dodges Lucina's attack, but then Valter himself gets hit on his leg. He growls.

   "Damn this, you we-"   

And then Glen, who'd successfully been thrown by Nicole, gets thrown against Valter, both riders falling off of their steeds. Valter gets up, enraged.

   "You-you worthless scum!"   

He then tries to attack Glen, the two of them locking spears as Glen tries to defend himself.

However, a Bolting suddenly tries to strike down upon Nicole, courtesy of Selena. No, not Severa's new identity, but a mage general who shares that name.

Orson, the Paladin, then rides up to Lucina, attempting to slash at her with his Silver Sword.

Vigarde, the General, seems to be giving the units their commands. The Bishop, Riev, is hiding near him, and seems to be saying something to nobody in particular. However...

His hands are coated in the same dark magic that faintly surround Morva...

Lastly, a somewhat meek-looking boy, Lyon, is in the back of the group, and doesn't really look like he's up to fight anyone.

Roy lowers his sword, panting as he turns to the newly arrived Einherjar.

"Mario!"

"Mm-hmm?"

"Do you have the others?"

He shakes his head.

"Are they still somewhere in the World of Trophies?"

He shakes his head again.

Then they could be out here somewhere... Roy sheathes his sword and drops into a sitting position.

Mario runs ahead, leaping and bounding into the air and making an overhead sledgehammer swing with one hand at Selena.

Lucina attempts to intercept the knight but get surprised by the attacking rider and is slashed on the arm, though she react with a slash on her own.

And the paladin is promptly attacked once more by a blast from Laurent, who's just used Thunder to attack !

Laurent !

The spell is gone and I intend to help you. My wounds are not severe. he says, walking to stand next to her. Their stats raise because of their S support.

Doppio keep screeching as Gregor attempts to put Clarisse down somewhere. The wind howls briefly as Samsara and Noire appears !

Took you long ! Party's started.. but party's dangerous !

Yeah... we can't dispatch everyone but Miriel and Emmeryn are ready to fight. Gangrel's... off but he's nearby.

I'll stay there then ! To protect weakened ! You go and kill.

Right, follow me Noire !

The two women rushes towards the battle, as Doppio sit there.

   "Whoa!"   

Nicole instinctively fires an Arcane Blast at the Bolting, then retaliated by launching a Arcane Beam at Selena in a sweeping arc. Regardless of whether or not her counterattack lands, she then notices Lyon.

   "Yeah, if what the crazy dude said was true, I ain't letting that kid get caught in the crossfire."   

She reverts back to normal, flies over where Lyon's standing, then touches down and retracts her wings before approaching with a reassuring smile.

"Don't worry, kid, I ain't gonna hurt ya. Listen, don't ask me how I know, but something bad's about to happen. If you'd rather not be here when it does, just follow me and I'll get'cha to safety."

Orson gets slashed back, his horse panicking for a moment. Due to this momentary loss of stability, Laurent's Thunder knocks him off of his horse. Surprisingly, he actually dies from these attacks. Like Gheb, he must've been weak.

Valter keeps blocking Glen's attack but slowly gets overpowered, staggering for a moment as, suddenly, Glen stabs him in his neck, causing him to convulse before he dies. Glen remains silent for a bit.

"... for some reason, that felt really cathartic."

He turns towards the people closest to him.

"... sorry, a command is a command..."

He spins his lance as he charges back at Lucina and Laurent.

Selena's horse backs off to dodge Mario's attack, then it actually tries to headbutt him.... Only to get hit by the Arcane Beam, making her fall off of her horse and making her an easy target.

Caellach suddenly charges for Roy, brandishing a Silver Axe. While he does have a disadvantage when it comes to weapons, he does have a very perculiar item in his possession: the Hoplon Guard. A little trinket that blocks enemy critical hits.

Morva manages to get a sudden advantage over Jahn due to not having any need for stamina, while Jahn, being pretty old, lacks exactly that. As such, Morva manages to -kinda gruesomely- bite his head off.

He then turns his attention on Nicole.

Vigarde starts approaching Samsara and Noire, while Lyon and Riev stay behind, the former of which looking at Nicole.

"H-huh? Um... I...", he says, a little reluctant, though he does slowly take a few steps towards her.

Then, however, from the Outrealm Gates, a bunch of people appear, landing onto the battlefield, and...

They're all Annas◊, who charge onto the field and towards Glen (to help Lucina and Laurent out), Riev, Morva (to stop him from attacking Nicole) and Vigarde (to stop him from attacking Samsara and Noire), multiple Annas attacking each of them with swords. With the current chaos of the battlefield, there's not really a moment to spare on counting how many Annas there are. Oliver is also helping in fighting Morva.

Meanwhile, the Anna that everyone had come to know and love appears from an Outrealm Gate, and she approaches Nicole.

"Hey, we came back at the right time, huh? How are-"

She notices Lyon and immediately grabs her sword.

"Nicole, stand back. He may look innocent, but he's possessed by a demon!"

Portals start to form above the battlefield. Everyone from Lucina's world may recognize them as Outrealm Gates.

Mario raises his shield to block. When he sees things happening, he keeps his shield up.

Twin◊ Falchions◊ cross in front of Roy, stopping the axe.

The wielder of a two-handed sword◊ slides out ahead of him, taking point in the swiftly-enlarging group.

"Thoron!"◊ A beam of piercing lightning flies at Caellach.

A familiar-looking Manakete◊ touches down beside Ike. "We'll take it from here, Roy. Let's go!"

NLA: Cross-referencing

"Do you say... Anything else?"

"eat my hot bird ass freddy"

"That's disgusting."

Axel and Chica are walking down the streets of NLA, unwittingly approaching the scene of battle. But which battle? A new one, or one previous?

Lucina stares at the portals and their eyes widen. Even Samsara's eyes briefly widen, revealing them... and promptly hiding them from view because of the wind.

The outrealms gates ! And all those Annas are pouring out of them !

I never thought that I'd hear such a phrase, like, ever.

She stares at Vigarde and they both prepare for battle, nodding at the Annas.

This guy looks almost dead... what's his deal ? she asks, preparing herself.

Lucina deflect his attack as Laurent looks fairly fascinated by the phenomenon, though he prepare to blast Glen. However, Lucina raises her wounded arm and stares at him.

Wait ! Please, consider my words ! Do not die for the sake of a wicked command. Some of your wounds were caused by your own side, is it not ? I can see that you seem hesitant, please, join our side !

Cue the Anna army, prompting an utterly baffled Nicole to not only do a double take, but pinch herself to make sure that she wasn't just seeing things.

"...Yeah, I'm probably gonna need at least a few drinks after today."

Her gaze then snaps to the Anna when the red-haired merchant warns her about Lyon.

"Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the... friggin' legion of your sisters, but your Einherjar knowledge would've really come in handy earlier. Whatever, how do we exorcise the demon from this kid, Anna?"

Caellach looks suitably shocked by the sudden appearance of new enemies. He then gets struck by Thoron, screaming as the lightning courses through him, and falling on the ground as a result. He's still alive though, and reaches for his axe, planning a swift surprise attack.

A bunch of Annas are currently keeping Vigarde busy, though despite there being quite a few of them around him, Vigarde seems to be pushing them back slowly. They're going to need Samsara's and Noir's help to defeat him.

Glen does halt his attack on Lucina, and the Annas who were about to assist her stop as well, giving Lucina a chance to speak with Glen. The fact that they're willing to do so indicates that Lucina might have a chance at getting through to him.

Glen is quiet for a bit, glancing at Vigarde, then looking more doubtful.

"... Emperor Vigarde has become quite a different man since me and my brother joined his ranks.", he says. "I've been having doubts on what to do for a while now. But betraying my homeland..."

He looks back at Lucina.

"Would you do that?"

Riev immediately starts backing down from the approaching Annas, while Morva keeps whacking the ones near him away.

Selena, since she wasn't attacked when she was vulnerable, gets back up and prepares to cast another Bolting, this time at Gregor, as she sees him carrying Clarisse. However, Oliver, noticing this, makes his way over to Gregor fast, as he is closer to him than he is to Selena, so he can't actively stop her.

"Run, my ally! Lightning is about to strike down upon you!"

"I'll explain after the fight.", she says to Nicole, noticing her confusion. She then looks a little somber as she looks at a now glaring Lyon, who's stopped pretending to be a defenseless kid and grabs his tome.

"We can't. The Demon King, Fomortiis, has complete control over him, and even if we were to somehow purify him, he'll be re-possessed whenever he is summoned. According to the legends, Lyon used to be a kind boy, a friend of the twin heroes of his world, Eirika and Ephraim. Like them, he is royalty, but he felt weak compared to them. In order to become more powerful as to be a good ruler, he dabbled in dark magic."

   "Excuse me. It's rude to talk about someone who's right in front of you."   , Lyon says, grinning.

"Then why don't you finish what I was going to tell her about you?"

Lyon chuckles, then actually does continue.

   "I discovered and used a forbidden spell that allowed me to see into the future. I saw a massive earthquake that would destroy most of my country, so I began to experiment with the Sacred Stone of Grado that contained the spirit of the Demon King, Fomortiis. When I tried to use the stone, I became somewhat... possessed, you could say, and he told me I could avert the earthquake by reviving him, which I set out to do."   

"And in the end, your friends had no choice but to strike you down.", Anna says, to which Lyon laughs again.

   "I see you're aware of what I know. Yes, I know I'm not real. Unlike many of the others, I long realized this, but I naturally kept it to myself."   

"You know where the other Einherjar are?"

   "Yes. But it's not my place to tell you. It's my place to destroy you!"   

His cape begins to below in the wind as he points at Anna and Nicole, upon which black lightning strikes the ground right next to the both of them. Dark mist forms and gathers together, then creates a whirlwind of energy that sucks up the debris from Nergal's previous attacks. Unlike Nergal's black hole, this whirlwind does have a pulling effect, and Anna has some trouble standing her ground.

Regardless of how much trouble Nicole might have, the whirlwind eventually creates a centered blast on her and Anna's current positions, attempting to strike them.

The Tragic Prince

Mario surveys the scene, looking for any opening.

Ike and Robin rush at Vigarde.

Ike throws Ragnell into the air, leaps up, catches it, and dives down while holding it out with an Aether.

Robin casts Arcfire, launching a fireball at Vigarde.

Corrin attempts to stomp on Caellach's axe. "Surrender."

Chrom and Lucina hang back with Roy.

Loyalty to a country is commendable... but one must know when to stop if it spread evil. If Ylisse would ever find itself in a position where it inflict evil upon the innocent, I would certainly attempt to change it. she says, mentioning her country. And Ylisse's own princess is standing in front of you.

Laurent look at her, aware that it must feel weird for Lucina to say such things. Nevertheless, he can at least admire Lucina being honest and giving out her title and the country's names, as a way to show that she is truthful.

Noire attempts to shoot the bizarre king, while Samsara rushes up to him and attempts to hit him with a mighty sword attack.

Get some of you to defend Noire ! she says.

Meanwhile, Gregor nods and begins to pick up the pace to run.

Thank you, mustached man ! Gregor no forget your noble deeds and noble facial hair.

"Oh, you've gotta be friggin' kidding me..."

Once she fires several Arcane Blasts towards Lyon in retaliation, Nicole powers through the whirlwind to the best of her ability, then attempts to tackle Anna away from it before either of them can be struck by the ensuing blast.

From this close up, Anna should notice the white scales beginning to appear on Nicole's arms.

Meanwhile, a couple of fireballs are launched towards Morva, courtesy of a newly-arrived Viserys.◊

"And here I thought Durnehviir would be the only undead dragon I'd encounter..."

Corrin's stomp is successful, leaving the mercenary weaponless. He snarls at Corrin, but reluctantly lets go of the Silver Axe's handle.

   "... Fine. I know when I'm beaten. Even if I don't like to admit it."   , he growls.

Mario, meanwhile, will find Selena to be the nearest target. She just missed her Bolting on Gregor, as he'd ran in time.

Glen listens and thinks.

"... is that so? Well, I've never heard of your country before. ... But your words are wise. Perhaps there's truth to them."

Vigarde takes a step back to avoid Samsara's sword swing, then plans to strike at her with his spear, but is forced to hold it above him to block Ike's attack. Robin's Arcfire and Noire's arrow hit him though, stunning him for a moment. The Annas near him, hearing what Samsara say, look at Noire and, seeing that she's an archer, decide to follow Samsara's advice, going over to Noire and stationing themselves around her to protect her, though in a way that she can still shoot at the enemies without having to risk hitting an Anna.

Morva suddenly breaks through the Annas though, and charges for Chrom, Lucina (Kirik) and Roy, having not the faintest clue of how bad an idea it is to go up against warriors with dragonslaying weapons. Still, his charge gets interrupted when hit by Viserys' fireballs, turning to glare at him while spewing a poisonous cloud of breath at Viserys, Chrom, Lucina and Roy.

Riev is quite comically running away from a horde of Annas.

Using magic to levitate a little, Lyon dodges the Arcane Blasts, and Anna gets tackled, looking surprised for a moment as she ungracefully falls on the ground, though out of harm's reach. She quickly show a thumbs up gesture to show that she's alright though, and quickly gets back up. She looks at Nicole.

"I'm not sure if transforming is a good idea right now.", she says in a hushed tone so that Lyon doesn't hear. "It'll make you a bigger target for the wind and debris. Lyon has poor health, so we don't need to have overwhelming physical strength to defeat him in a fight. Anyhow, here you go!"

She grabs a Heal Staff and casts healing magic over Nicole, trying to heal the wounds inflicted by Lyon's attack. If Gregor notices this particular Anna, he could get the idea to get Clarisse closer to her so that she can be healed too.

Mario throws a couple of his trademark bouncing fireballs at Selena.

Corrin kicks the axe back to Chrom, who narrowly catches it. "Handle that for me."

Chrom nods, then immediately recoils at the poison breath.

Robin draws his Levin Sword and attempts to intercept Riev with his forward aerial - an underhanded swing.

Ike readies a counter.

Corrin's hand morphs into a draconic maw that fires a blast of pressurized water at Morva. "Who was Durnehviir and was there any specific strategy involved in defeating him?!" she yells.

Lucina dodges away from the undead dragon's mouth, grabbing Roy and dragging him back with her.

Roy breaks out of Lucina's grip and rises up with a Blazer uppercut, trying to strike the dragon with his blade multiple times.

Who's that dashing rogue strutting around in my coa-ho nevermind she thinks, attempting to exploit the confusion to strike at the emperor while he's busy, using her Brave Sword to attack two times in a blur.

Haha ! It feels so nice to be surrounded by people who want to protect me instead of trying to-awk ! she says, noticing that the fighting's going on and firing an arrow towards Selena.

Meanwhile, a screeching nose, like a raging fire sped up, rings under Selena as the massive figure of King Crimson appear and attempts to sock her in the face while a furious-looking shirtless man with pink hair contemplate her.

I can fight too with the Boss's guidances !

Lucina smiles a little but then looks at the blood in her arm. Laurent uses a spell to heal it though, the wounds are still quite scary, even if she has the nerves to look casual in spite of them.

I will tell you more about my country in the future. she says, wrapping bandages around her wounded arm. She notices her other self and prepare to help her, grabbing Falchion in preparation. Laurent merely look at the Einherjar a little, nodding and stepping back to prepare a spell.

This beast should be weak to your sword but do not overdo it, Lucina. he declares.

Gregor approaches the healing Anna, waging around his hand.

GREGOR HAS TEETH PAIN ! And unconscious woman in tow !

"Thanks, Anna. Man, we're gonna have a lot to talk about once everything's calmed down."

With her wounds now healed courtesy of Anna, Nicole fires a couple of Arcane Bolts towards Lyon as a distraction before hurling her Killing Edge at his chest like a javelin.

With a mighty Shout of "Ven Gaar Nos!", Viserys sends forth a cyclone in an attempt to blow away the poison breath and hopefully do some damage to Morva, then draws Dragonbane.

"It's a long and complicated story, but no, I didn't need to employ any specific strategies to defeat him!"

Caellach gets back up now, not really capable of doing much else, and Glen approaches him. While Lucina's words may have convinced him not to follow Vigarde's orders, that doesn't mean he's going to help them fight Vigarde too.

Selena gets hit by the fireball, flinching for a moment, then turning to Mario as she readies her last Bolting.

However, King Crimson's appearance puts her in a state of shock, and as such she and her horse get punched to the ground. The horse disappears, but Selena herself still gets up, despite being gravely wounded, and looks determined, having already made up her mind. She'll finish this battle even if it results in her death.

Grabbing Elfire, she tries to cast it upon King Crimson. Regardless of whether it hits or not, she then gets struck by Noire's arrow and is dealt a fatal wound, turning back into a card.

Riev immediately halts upon seeing Robin approach and falls over, almost crawling back the other way to avoid his attack. This gets him caught by the Annas though, who trap him by surrounding him, one of them stealing his Aura tome before he can try to defend himself with it.

"Ooh, this'll make for some nice coin afterwards.", that Anna says, smiling.

Morva's poison breath is blown away, though he looks resilient against both the cyclone and the water attack. When Roy hits him though, he roars painfully and stumbles back, but immediately retaliates, trying to sweep the warriors away with his tail. Oliver, who'd attempted to join the group to help out, gets hit and is comically sent rolling towards a wall.

Vigarde tries to block Samsara once again, but the second strike hits him. He lets out a pained grunt, and the Annas use this opportunity to grab Vigarde's arms, effectively making him unable to block the next attacks.

Lyon starts laughing darkly as he casts Naglfar once more, the dark, powerful winds blowing the Arcane Blasts and the Killing Edge away, the latter being blown back towards Nicole, meaning that it could potentially hit her instead.

Anna's attention is caught by Gregor, as Lyon's attack only goes far enough to deflect Nicole's attacks and not actually target the both of them. Looking horrified at the state Clarisse is in, swaps her Heal for a Physic, allowing her to heal Clarisse from afar.

"I'll see what I can do about your ache after the fight. For a price~", Anna says to Gregor, smirking a little teasingly. Clarisse, feeling patched up again, immediately gets out of Gregor's arms, looking embarrassed.

"That... w-we never mention that I was being held ever again!", she says, though she then nods gratefully.

"... thanks for saving me though."

Mario joins up with Robin, and the two stare daggers at Riev.

The Smashers get knocked back, but tech off the ground and form up.

Corrin's helmet manifests. "In that case, dragonslayers!"

Roy, Chrom, and Lucina stand at attention.

"Take down that zombified husk."

They all nod.

Roy stabs the Binding Blade upwards as flames burst along its edge, creating a multi-hit explosive thrust (Up Smash).

Chrom holds his Falchion like Roy did when charging his Flare Blade earlier (before he got crit by Zephiel) as a sparkle runs along the blade from hilt to tip, then slams it down in front of him (Neutral Special).

Smash!Lucina advances towards Morva with a series of attacks, ending with a low triple thrust (Side Special - final input Down).

Corrin runs at Lyon, then stops. She holds her Omega Yato in front of herself while drawing back her free hand, then stabs that hand forward, using Dragon Fang to extend her arm into a lancelike instrument (Forward Smash).

Ike rushes Vigarde and stabs his sword into the ground, creating a small explosion of blue flame (Neutral Special, uncharged) at point-blank.

Follow me. I can attack the beast with Falchion but may need help nonetheless if it cannot finish it off.

Noticing Lucina, she briefly look confused but dashes forth nonetheless and slice at the dragon with Aether, attempting to regain some health that way. The difference between her and Smash will be easier since this Lucina has cuts, a bandage over her arm, a ring and looks slightly, slightly older.

Samsara casts Ignis and attempts to strike the Emperor while he's busy, striking at the same time as Ike.

Nice work Anna ! YAH !

Look, I contributed ! says Noire. When she sees Lyon, she begins to twirl her arrow, with an omnious aura of her own building up around her.

Gregor laughs and let go of Clarisse, taking his sword.

No need embarrassed ! Gregor fine with saving people. Not fine with paying but will be done later. Now is time to kill spiky man ! he says, joining Nicole and the Anna in their quest.

KC is struck in the arm and Doppio begins to trash around, seemingly badly affected on the arm.

GARGH !

Rolling her eyes, Nicole simply catches her Killing Edge by the hilt before casting an annoyed glare at Anna.

"So much for the demon stuck in a scrawny little kid's body having 'poor health'."

Spreading her wings as she coats her weapon's blade with Arcane Magic, she takes off like a bullet straight towards Lyon, seemingly prepared to take a swipe... only to quickly maneuver behind him at the last second in an attempt to drive the sword through his back.

After leaping back to narrowly avoid being clobbered by the oncoming tail, Viserys gives a Shout of "Wuld Nah Kest!" to dash towards Morva with Whirlwind Sprint, then repeatedly slashes at him with Dragonbane.

Riev just gulps.

   "Now, now, we don't need to get violent, do we?"   

"You tell us.", one of the Annas says, all of them giving him a similar glare. "With what you did to Morva, I don't see why we should let you live."

Another Anna turns to Robin and Mario.

"Morva was once a great and just dragon leader, but he was killed and then revived through necromancy and turned into that.", she says, gesturing towards Morva. "Einherjar or not, it's still a sad fate. It's best to put him out of his misery."

Speaking of putting Morva out of his misery, with him being a huge and somewhat slow target, he gets hit by all the combined attacks used on him. The wounds prove deep and strong enough to cause his body to start to collapse, and with one last shriek, that's the end for him, naught but a fading corpse remaining, under which lies his Einherjar card.

Vigarde, defenseless, is struck by the explosion of flames and Ignis. A strange, almost gargling sound escapes him as he collapses onto the ground, disappearing. A Master Seal drops near Samsara, as her attack had been the finishing blow on the Emperor.

Caellach and Glen look shocked upon seeing Vigarde's death.

   "Hold on, that freaky sound... was the Emperor a resurrected monster, like Morva!?"   

Glen then looks at him in shock.

"Wait, you knew about Morva!?"

   "Duh, I-GAH!"   

He immediately collapses as well, Glen's Silver Lance having impaled him through his neck, and he turns back into a card. Glen looks at it in disgust.

"That's a level of cruelty I cannot abide by."

Anna smiles sheepishly at Nicole.

"W-well, I mean, he didn't use physical means to do that."

She then gets ready to fight, but hears Doppio in pain.

"Crud, he needs healing too.", she says, quickly trying to cast Physic onto him as well.

Lyon definitely doesn't see Corrin's attack coming, since turning your arm into a lance-like appendage isn't quite a normal sight. He still tries to dodge, but gets hit in his shoulder, letting out a pained sound as he moves back to get his shoulder out, unable to even hold it in pain as he needs his hands to cast his attacks.

Because of this, he can't properly avoid Nicole's attack either, and gets stabbed in the back. Letting out a strained gasp, his aura briefly shifts into something monstrous-looking◊, and as Lyon starts to collapse, his tome glows sinisterly.

The moment Lyon hits the ground and starts turning back, his tome unleashes a massively powerful blast of dark magic around the area. Everyone nearby will have to dodge immediately, and get to a fair distance too, or they'll risk being killed.

Anna, seeing how close Nicole is to Lyon as it's about to happen, activates an Aether-like aura and charges at Nicole, attempting to grab her arm and use her currently increased speed to pull her and herself out of the blast's range.

The Annas near Riev run as well, but Riev himself isn't nearly agile enough to get away himself, and is literally destroyed on the spot.
