Meanwhile, wherever Galeem is, he's "thinking" about reducing Xehanort to a Spirit. He can't reach The World That Never Was, so for now, that's off the table.

Yeah, he doesn't really do "allies". Not for right now, at least.

The trio find the keyholed door, exiting into The World That Never was.

"so how the hell do we get out of here"

They start sneaking around.

Bowser's Castle

"Man, I heard Yuki, Benimaru, and Iori are here, but where are they?"

Kyo Kusanagi, in his Maximum Impact outfit (but composite nonetheless), wanders around Bowser's Castle.

Meanwhile, in the castle itself, a couple of Goombas are showing Shingo the camera feed, including Private Goomp.

"Hey, Shingo, that guy kinda looks like you, but with long hair. He your brother or something?"

Shingo freezes before dashing towards the exit.

"Shingo, where are you going?"

"KUSANAGI-SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!"

In the Throne Room, Bowser hears Shingo yelling at the top of his lungs...

"What!? Are you serious!?", Clarisse◊ says.

"Unfortunately.", Minerva◊ replies. "We wouldn't have sought to contact Anna if there we hadn't seen any Einherjar."

Clarisse slams her fist against the counter.

"Damnit! This is our chance, but Anna and Jake aren't back yet! I can't leave the store unguarded!"

"... um...", Zacharie◊ says, as he'd been talking to Clarisse until Minerva had appeared, having decided to drop by after collecting more of his hidden wares and not knowing that Anna was out. "I could watch over the store."

"You? ... Well, I guess you're a friend of Anna's. But you better not steal anything!"

"I'm a merchant, not a thief.", Zacharie says. "Just leave the store to me for a little while. But don't be gone too long, I'm in the middle of business myself too."

"... right. Thanks."

She hurries out of the store, following Minerva as she ascends and leads the way.

Roy wanders by when he hears about Einherjar. He quickly starts following behind Minerva.

And Gregor said "GREGOR SMASH !" and did just that ! Send Grimleal flying !

Interesting... you do appear to hail from Samsara and Noire's timeline. I must point out that it would perhaps be more accurate to say "Gregor slash" since smash is typically more associated to a strong punch.

Haa, yes. Is catchphrase, hail from years. One day, Gregor once more naked and covered with honey...

Lucina raises her hand, as Doppio begins to look a bit ill. They're in the streets of NLA.

We may be dealing with an einherjar situation. Follow me, friends. she says, giving chase. Doppio wait but follow, not wanting to admit that he just forgot the way "home".

Who should arrive near Anna's shop just in time to see Clarisse and Minerva heading out but Nicole, who raises an eyebrow at the sight before hurrying after them, waving to Zacharie as she passes by the shop. She'd ask where the hell Anna was after sorting out what she assumed would likely be Einherjar trouble.

Clarisse, not really looking back to notice that help is following behind her, starts pondering.

Of course trouble'd arise while Anna's gone. There's a high chance I won't know the enemy at all. How am I supposed to know what to look out for?

She then grits her teeth.

What!? Did I seriously just think that!? I'm a trained assassin for crying out loud, I'll use my goddamn instinct to tell me what to look out for!

She looks up at Minerva.

"How much farther!?"

"Around the edge of the city.", she replies. Clarisse looks annoyed.

Of course in the city. They can't ever appear on an open plain without buildings in the way of my shots.

Roy breaks into a dash, rushing just a little ahead of Minerva while looking back to make sure he doesn't go the wrong way.

Clarisse ? asks Lucina, trailing along. She runs at a good pace but doesn't seems tired out, acknowledging Roy and co with a polite nod. Worry not, we are here to help you.

It seems that Anna is missing. We will perhaps go blind into this situation... unless the red-haired gentleman over there can help us.

Haha, don't worry ! Gregor likes Anna ! Met a few before. Even know how to differentiate ! All in the faces...

Gregor is quite literally holding Doppio above his head, though Doppio seems more concerned with adding more surreality to the scene by holding onto a frog phone and ringing.

Clarisse, upon being talked to, turns to Lucina and her friends, looking surprised to see them.

"Anna isn't missing, she and Jake went back to their world for something involving family or something. It's been about a week or so."

She stares at Doppio's antics for a little bit, then sighs and just looks ahead.

Well, it's good to know I won't be heading in on my own at least.

Minerva, seeing Roy down below, suddenly yells.

"Stop, we're here!"

Roy might want to listen to her, because behind the corner of the next street, a group of Einherjar is conversing with one another. And a few of those people, Roy might find familiar.

Roy stops short and peers over to get a glance at the Einherjar before stepping back.

"I recognize five of those Einherjar. Quick talk."

"Narcian is the Wyvern Lord wielding a sword and shield. He's arrogant, narcissistic, and doesn't hesitate to let subordinates die in his place. He's tough, but susceptible to the bow and arrow or wind magic."

"Brunnya is a Sage with ice and thunder Anima magic tomes. Use Dark magic against her if anyone has it."

"Murdock is the Tomahawk-wielding General. The Tomahawk is an axe. He's got great defense and accuracy, but magic weapons and anti-armor weapons are a General's bane."

He grits his teeth on the last two.

"Jahn is a cunning Manakete obsessed with returning Elibe to the control of dragons. Like any Manakete, he's susceptible to anti-dragon weapons, which has me wishing Marth were around. He motivated Zephiel to start the war that ravaged my home."

"And you will leave Zephiel to me."

Lucina signals over to Gregor and Doppio goes quiet as he's put down, they, took, take a peek and Lucina nods.

Nicole. I have no time for introduction but know that Gregor is a trusted friend, ally and veteran... and allow me to say that I do not know of these persons, unfortunately.

"Huh... maybe I should've stopped by Anna's shop and grabbed some of the Einherjar we've got for backup first. Guess I can always hurry back and do that if/when things start going pear-shaped."

Once she's had a moment to properly study the enemy Einherjar, Nicole glances at Lucina.

"He seems like kind of an oddball, from what I can tell, but I guess I'll take your word for it."

She then nods to Roy as he gives his explanations.

"Gotcha."

Clarisse hides in front of the street corner, sneaking a peek at the Einherjar. She listens to Roy.

"Alright, so we have some intel on a few of them. Good. And I don't know which one Zephiel is, but if you have unfinished business with him, I'll leave him to you. I'll probably go after this Narcian."

She holds her bow tight, then glances up at Minerva, giving her a nodding signal, to which she retreats.

"If we start losing this fight, Minerva will try to go get reinforcements.", she says. "Everyone, get into position."

She starts sneaking into the nearest building. Meanwhile, the group might catch something that's being said by the Einherjar.

   "-and that's why they think this world would be perfect for harnessing Quintessence. And I so truly agree."   , Nergal says.

   "Hmph. Your methods are barbaric. Stealing the souls of your enemies."   , Zephiel says.

   "Please, like you care about what happens to humans."   

   "I did not say anything about that. I said your methods are sickening."   

   "Heh, he who's done nothing wrong cast the first stone. Lecture me all you want, boy, but as soon as we enter this town, I'll get all the Quintessence I desire, and the dragons shall destroy all in their path!"   

Zephiel grins.

   "It's only for that latter part that I even bother supporting you."   

Roy quickly points out which of those five Einherjar is which, then gets down in a running stance, looking straight at Zephiel.

Laurent nods and get into cover, in a position where he can safely blast away while being himself safe from enemy offense and far enough to escape or be assisted by allies if someone tries to take him down physically. Lucina sneakily get into a position near the front, where she can use her speed to strike efficiently. Gregor, slower but sturdier, put himself between them, in a position where he can watch the battlefield and assist allies.

Doppio, meanwhile, look at Lucina.

You should go into cover, sir Doppio. Perhaps you should try to warn Samsara and the others. she says, before running with Roy, sword out.

Doppio agrees and begins walking away... only to freeze : the Boss is calling him and he's going to ring !

Nicole takes another look at the group of Einherjar before settling on Ursula as her target, then drawing her Noxian dagger.

Nergal cackles a little madly before he starts to walk in the opposite direction of where the group is hiding.

   "Come then, let's waste not a second longer."   

Taking a spot up on the roof, Clarisse carefully aims her bow at Narcian's head.

Steady, and...

Roy rushes at Zephiel with a sweeping sword swing.

Lucina also attack but aim for the person next to him with a sweeping sword strike, while Laurent strikes at Thoron towards those close to Zephiel, in an attempt to prevent them from leaping to his aid. Gregor stand there, cheering.

Haha, great ! Like Gregor did while naked !
