Scarlett answered like a machinegun laying waste to Nazis. "Lady Scarlett Cora Silverman, First of Her Name. I seek a roomie. African or European swallow?"

"Scarlett does it hurt to use your powers, it looked like it uses your blood. My power is physically exhausting so I know how powers can effect you." He looks curious with his confident facade over himself again.

"Excellent. Next on the firing line. Kirk, Picard or Sisko? How would you feel about the fact I can't eat and would you be bothered by me trying to GM tabletop games?" Echo finished off.

"Really if you think you can stand me. Why not?"

"Kirk, Picard, Sisko? Screw, Marry, Drink with." Amy shrugged.

Rachel North kept swearing in her head as the cab approach the Academy. She was supposed to arrive two hours ago, but her bus had been delayed by some stupid supervillain crap. When the cab finally stopped, she got out - the driver already received a payment from the Avengers, so at least she didn't have to worry about that - put on her backpack and grabbed her suitcase from the trunk. She started jogging towards the building when she paused to actually take a look at it. She had to admit, it was an impressive place.

She reminded herself to stop dawdling, and jogged up to the dorm building. A simple robot showed her to her room. She saw two beds, with a suitcase sitting on one of them already. Rachel dropped her suitcase beside the other bed, shrugged off her backpack, and dropped on the bed. She took a few deep breaths, then went to the bathroom to give herself a quick look in the mirror, to see if her hair or make-up needed any touching up.

Meanwhile, in the orientation hall, one of the loudspeakers throughout the building announced, "Students, please be quiet and courteous - the Orientation Speech is about to begin."

It sounded mechanical, so it was probably a specialized Guardian unit Cale had commissioned.

Hank Pym walked out on to the stage with Cale, and looked out at the large amount of students, visibly becoming rather nervous. He tried to clear his throat, yeah...this was gonna be one hell of a year.

Jake had shut up while the teleporters talked, figuring his point of view was probably not wanted any more. He did squeak out at a certain point that he could turn kinetic energy into blasts, but said little more than that.

Blake on the other hand tried to chat with the other big guy, but was interrupted by the announcement of the speech.

Similarly, in Rachel's room, there was an announcement over an in room loudspeaker, "All students not in the orientation hall, please report there for the orientation speech."

Blake "Lapis" Barrelknocker kissed his mom on the cheek and ran down the hall, "I'm late, man! That's gonna show them!" He grabbed a piece of stone out of his bag and began playing with it as he went, noting the different areas of the school: a bathroom here, lab there, so on and so forth until he noticed a sign with an arrow pointing left and the word Orientation underneath it, he quickly rounded the corner and burst into the hall triumphantly, "I made it!" He looks around at the many students in the academy.

Rachel grabbed her rainbow pin out of her bag, and put it on while she made her way to the elevator. She was pretty sure she was the last one to make it to the orientation hall, and she embarrassedly took the seat next to a guy with black hair and an ear clamp.

Lapis looks over at the girl sitting next to him, "Name's Blake, but everyone calls me Lapis, cause it's Latin for rock, and well..." he shows her a regular rock and melds it into a small sculpture of George Washington, "I control rock."

"I'm Rachel," Rachel replies. "Everyone calls me Rachel." She pauses for a moment. "Um, that's a cool power."

Lapis hands her the George Washington sculpture, "Got a roomie? Either way, we should be friends."

"I have one, but thanks anyway."

Scarlett flushed, her face matching her hair. "I've...never watched Star Trek...but I don't mind you G Ming! We'll be best friends!"

The flush drained from her face when Daniel asked her about the pain. Scarlett thought for a moment, frowning. "A little," she said. "But only for a second. My skin seals around the edges once the blood starts flowing."

She shuts up as Hank Pym and a dude she didn't recognize reached the stage. It's time for orientation!

"That's chill. I'm just looking for one," Lapis says, "Maybe I'll see you around the dorms?" At this point he has quit paying attention to the orientation.

"Probably. Sorry, but I want to hear if they have anything interesting to say."

Lapis nods and looks up towards the orientation.

Hank winced a little - yeah, there were some familiar faces in this audience, but by and large these were...definitely kids. He tested the microphone, tapping it a few times and then starting, "Welcome, to the first day of your life at the Rogers National Institute. I'm Hank Pym, and I'll be one of the head instructors this year. This...will, admittedly probably be an awkward period, but I believe that we can work together and make it work."

Hank gestured around, and nodded, "For the first time, there will be integration between mutants and non-mutant empowered in a school setting, and I hope we can all find it within ourselves to be as tolerant and capable with each other as possible."

Pym then stated, "And now, for a word from Mr. Bluefield."

He handed the microphone to Cale and the well dressed young businessman stepped forward, "As many of you already know, the Dark Reign of Norman Osborn has come crashing down following his defeat in the Siege of Asgard. After a period of strife, it is the duty of those blessed with resources to do all they can to make sure a recovery is possible."

Cale looked at a certain section of the audience, and then away from them, "The A / X initiative that has been authored has brought you all here, and I hope that we can all move forward, and improve ourselves, becoming worthy heroes of a new age of heroism. A new age of communication and cooperation. I wish the best unto all of you."

Cale then handed the microphone back to Pym and started off the stage to the side, and out a door.

Pym then motioned and a group of people, most likely from SHIELD, started handing out cards, "These cards have the location of your dormitory."

He decided to do the seminar that seemed to be in vogue, with a twist on it, "I also want to make sure just in case its not obvious that bullying is utterly discouraged at this campus. Not only is it a horrible idea with proven negative effects on both bully and victim, its also terribly unintelligent to bully someone who has a superpower."

Pym then started into the particulars, "School begins at 8:45 in the morning next morning, in the Core Class Room A-124. Make sure each of you gets a full eight hours of sleep, and I hope to see you all Assemble for class ready to learn."

Lapis stands up and raises his hand, "Question!"

"Oooh sounds like fun. Funnily enough I can charge my batteries to full in 6 hours! Man being a android is awesome! Though I promise I'll be quiet roomie" Echo said in a pleased tone.

Pym wasn't aware they'd be taking questions, and to be fair to the student in question, nobody ever said he wasn't.

Hank started heading back toward the microphone, but in the mean time Blake got some really odd looks. Other Blake was staring at him, and bit his lip, Idiot can't keep quiet...seems me and the guys around here need to keep order after all.

He didn't expect someone to butt in on his thoughts, Do it and I'll mentally regress you to a bawling toddler. I've looked into you, and just know no matter how you try to conduct your bullying here, we've prepared for it.

The voice left, and Other Blake grimaced - damned telepaths.

Lapis doesn't flinch in his standing, "Sir, why do you say mutants, why can't mutants just be another gifted person? You call everyone else here heros and or extra-terrestrial, which means not of earth, but the others are mutants? I don't understand why they always get the short end of the stick."

Zach had sat through orientation fiddling with a circuit board he may or may not have swiped from the maintenance department for the guardian androids. At least for a few minutes before apparently an android student showed up. The technopath may have stared more then just a little bit intently at the android, as Hank Pym was speaking. He supposed it would probably be rude to use his abilities to scan the mechanical man, but it was tempting. Tempting enough that he decided to ignore the fact that it would be classified as invasive. He would avoid attempting to interface with the android's mind and simply content himself with getting a psychic feel for the mechanics and power source. Mostly to compare it with the other non-sentient androids running around.

"Forget that! How many roommates do we get?" said Scarlett, who is a mutant and doesn't mind the term. She always thought the X-men were cool.

Hank admitted he had - after some time investigating - gotten why the mutants felt they got the short end of the stick. Still...

"Exactly why this school was created. To make sure mutants no longer get the short end of the stick. You are all students here, with the same rights to safety, security and education. Hence my statement on bullying. I do mean all bullying. Anti-Mutant Bigotry will be dealt with to the fullest extent of my and my compatriots abilities."

A young man seated near Scarlett whispered to her, "However many are at the room you are assigned to. I think records and such as well as preferences were probably accounted for."

The young man was clad in a concealing hoodie and slightly tight jeans. He was notably quite tall and even with most of his face concealed, it was clear he was quite striking looking. There was a tuft of light brown and much lighter hair slightly visible.
