I do appreciate the facial scar. Does a lot to distinguish him from his brethren.
Update: Managed to get Clan Skryre to sue for peace, and took the Altar of the Old Ones. Thankfully despite their weapon teams they weren't that instrumental in battles due to where we fought them. Right now since we're at peace with most Skaven, we're currently fighting the Vipers orcs. We'll probably destroy the Vampire Coast next and then take out the rest of the Skaven. I also recently started a third army that is led by a Slann of the Lore of Fire, though he got sent to a city that was under siege by a rebel Skaven army, so who knows if he'll live or not.
Tip: with the way Lizardmen build their armies, you really want to always get the Lore of Life on your Slann (I guess High Magic is an option). The ability to heal up single-entity monsters is really good, and they're the only healing access the Lizardmen have.
Avatar SourceFair enough xD
Either way looting and sacking Skaven cities has given me enough money to be able to upgrade lots of my cities to the point where I'm almost able to get the really good units. I can get Kroxigors and stuff now, and I just need a few more building upgrades to be able to get Temple Guards and Dread Saurians and whatnot.
A meme for you gentle threadgoers◊
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnSpeaking of Rakarth, he includes an Actor Allusion in his voice lines. Asks Bracchus if he wants to hear out a visitor, or flay them alive.
Here's the voice teaser:
Yup it's Iwan Rheon aka Ramsay Bolton.
Alright, my status tonight was pretyt good. Managed to hold most of our posessions (except when one army was attacked by overwhelming numbers of Orcs, but we're slowly taking that back). Lizardmen are not doing well this game; I think I'm really the only one left, but we're managing to hold our own pretty well. I'm probably going to create a fourth army next time so that we can cover more fronts.
What are your armies like?
Avatar SourceMainly Saurians with some javelin throwers and a few monstrous units.
A You Tuber known as The Great Book of Grudges has gotten early access to Rakarth and is thus providing a campaign spotlight.
Relevant information:
-He starts near Albion in both Mortal Empires and Eye of the Vortex
-His faction has a unique trait that allows him to capture monsters after defeating other races and factions in a mechanic called the Monster Pen, reduces upkeep for all monsters by 10%, and all armies are immune to vigor reduction during the raiding stance.
-Raiding has a chance of acquiring monsters.
-The Monstre Pen functions the same as the raise dead mechanic/regiment of renown.
-Rakarth has a unique lord trait that increases melee defense for all monstrous units, reduces their recruitment time by 1 turn, and gives two abilities.
-Rakarth will be given a quest where if he gets 2500 slaves he'll get an opportunity to confederate Karond Kar.
-Defeating a settlement garrison will give him an opportunity to gather new beasts.
-You get a special quest to attack the city of Altdorf and loot its zoo. Thus granting 3 giant wolves, 1 Feral stegadon, and 1 black dragon.
-He gets a unique rite that gives him access to more monsters, you get multiple choices that come with their own costs.
Damn, he's looking really fun.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnSo he does have a way to build up a bunch of monsters early. Good.
Avatar SourceYeah, I thought of you as soon as I watched the video
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnTheir track record with Dark Elf mechanics is all over the place. Malus is outright inconvenient to play with and the Blood Voyage is likely to screw you over.
Avatar SourceRakarth appears more and more appeasing to me. Interesting starting location, Monster Pens mechanic, good bonuses. I'm hyped.
I will become a great writer one day! Hopefully...I've never taken a Dark Elf campaign very far, but I'm looking forward to Rakarth. I just love monstrous units and he seems like a really fun lord to play as.
Oh definitely, I wasn't criticizing you. Your skepticism is understandable
Personally, I expected them to just provide extra-units through unique buildings, thankfully I was wrong. His mechanics look much more interesting than that.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnNow I wonder if they'll update Lokhir slightly by giving him the same quest as Rakarth to gather 2500 slaves for confederation with Karond Kar.
I will become a great writer one day! Hopefully...I very much enjoy that mission to ransack the Altdorf zoo. The thought of a Dark elf warlord randomly attacking the capital of the Empire just to steal some animals from the zoo is supervillain as hell.
The replenishment and no-vigour-loss-raiding means you could probably just walk through everyone's territory to do it.
Avatar SourceKarond Kar is what city again? I'm confused cuz a lot of the Dark Elf cities sound the same.
Ah right, the training grounds for Alith Annar's Bitch-Slapping Corps.
To make him NOT a total waste, perhaps they'll do the same they did with Imrik and Malus, and move him somewhere else, but let him have an option to keep Karond Kar or give it up? His starting position should be somewhere near the factions that has plenty of monsters.
I will become a great writer one day! Hopefully...
