Really I imagine the Skaven weapon teams mean that I have to get up to the point where I can summon dinosaurs fast. With all the new aritllery the Skaven have gotten since I last played Lizardmen I'm in for a slog, possibly, even with Kroak.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.They shouldn't be able to get to weapons teams too quickly, and the AI doesn't go as ham with them as the player. But yeah, rush them down.
Finished off the wood elves, now I just have to deal with all of Ulthuan coming over to play. At least I'm now free to do so?
Edit: The high elves were so keen to declare war on me at the beginning of the campaign (all of them, the instant they could) that once I launched my second WAAAAGH! and took Tor Yvresse... it turned out Morathi had taken over all of Eataine and Tyrion was relegated to the northeast. Good grief... though now I need to decide what to do. I could go for the long campaign victory; Grom's absurdly hypercompetent goblins◊ are funny.

Avatar SourceThat is some serious buff to Goblin leadership there. Not to mention armor and melee attack.
My suggestion for your Grom campaign? Either go after the Empire, try to confederate with Skarsnik (if he's still alive), destroy Dark Elves and claim all of Ulthuan, or go to Badlands, capture Karaz-a-Karak, Black Crag and Karak Eight Peaks (and maybe Skavenblight along the way).
I'm currentlly doing a Markus Wolfhart campaign, myself. Vortex, Very Hard-Hard. It's pretty difficult to "break out" because not only does the Lizardman infantry outclass everything you can throw at them, but they actually get stronger the more succesful you are.
I had to be saved by the local Savage Orc tribe in order to actually get anywhere at all.
My idea for Campaigns is to do the exact opposite of what the game expects/tells you to do. Like one of the other posters said, have Grom ignore Ulthuan (Until you want to end the campaign.) and go after Naggarond or even go after Lizards. Helman Ghorst? Go after Greenskins. Nakai the Wanderer? Bretonians might have a Tablet. Wood Elves? Make Norsca Green. I've already begun contemplating which faction would be the least likely to invade the Chaos Wastes and utterly wreck their shit (Part of said contemplating invcludes Faction so far unannounced to be fair.), one of my current favorite mental images is Wurzhag in his infinite insanity Conquering his way into Chaos Realms, cause hoo boy would they not see THAT coming, likewise the idea of Skarsnik doing it to create a greater empire than in the Dwarfen Holds. Like just think about what is batshit insane for a given faction to do, and it's likely what will be what's the most fun.
Sanity is the Lie, there is only Madness. How about capturing Grom Peaks as Grom? Also, I merely wanted to suggest going to war with Morathi to boot her sorry ass out of Ulthuan, but going after Malekith and Naggarond is an amusing concept. Have Grom the Paunch become The One True Git and conquer the world.
I will become a great writer one day! Hopefully...I was already well into conquering Ulthuan at that point, it's more a "what do I do next?" thing. I wish someone I fight would would have a dragon already, I want the exploding ammo.
Avatar SourceLooks like there will be a new FLC Legendary Lord for anyone with TW Access. They usually update the FLC chart shortly before announcements, so expect news soon.
I wonder how many legendary lords there will be left for 2...
Would be nice if game would introduce at least one for all factions aka I'm hoping they manage to squeeze Norsca rep somehow in ;P (well okay I guess that would include warriors of chaos but eh)
I'd love for Norsca to get Valkia the Bloody as a Vortex lord. But I've got a feeling that the FLC lord will be Todbringer or the Red Duke.
FLC is confirmed to be Rakarth the Beastmaster. He'll be available March 18th.
From the name, I can only assume that he'll buff beast units in the faction.
That's rather surprising, it significantly decreases the odds of Dark Elves being the DLC faction.
Which makes me wonder, assuming it's Beastmen who would be the Game 2 faction? People joked about Skaven but surely it can't be them.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnMost likely.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.
Maybe it'll be a game 1 faction. Beastmen vs. Dwarves or Vampires could both work.
"Stuck all factions besides Norsca who didn't get DLC representation yet"?
I guess it could be "2 factions and yet another FLC"
But yeah, do we know for sure how many dlc there are left?
Perhaps, the issue is that they've explicitly said they always want every DLC to have a game 2 faction.
But who knows, that the Delf lord isn't part of the DLC means that they have to either abandon the rule or give a faction a seventh lord.

"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnAn FLC announcement? On a Saturday?
Echoing hymn of my fellow passerine | Art blog (under construction)Personally, I think someone fucked up, it's not mentioned on their Twitter.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnThey sent it as an email via that total war access stuff.
Can't say this guy really stands out in any way, though.
Avatar SourcePersonally, I think his focus on buffing monsters and his faction's ability to recruit other races' monsters is pretty cool.
But YMMV on that, I can see why someone might not find it very interesting.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnI mean, in terms of visual design and lore, he kind of lags behind the other Dark Elves.
Avatar SourceOh yeah, I definitely agree that his design isn't very interesting.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnI like that he has the ability to debuff enemy monsters as well and strip their fear and terror abilities, making them susceptible to fear and terror in return.
I'm playing a Grom campaign. Aside from the sheer hilarity of how much he can buff goblins... I think all of Ulthuan is declaring war on me as soon as they can. The bloody wood elves keep joining in too.◊
