Assuming it exists in the first place...
I heard somewhere that Nintendo denied they were releasing new Swtich models but then released them anyway. Is this true?
Probably. They have a history of lying when it comes to new hardware.
I think they denied the existence of a new 3DS model literally a day before announcing it.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2012/06/nintendo_denies_3ds_redesign_wii_u_price_revelation
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Interesting. I wonder why Nintendo does this strategy in the first place?
Not screwing up their own marketing plans.
Nintendo didn't want to overshadow the Wii U at E3 2012 with a bigger 3DS so they announced it later that month.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."By announcing something that's not ready yet, the hype and then future sales would eat away at the sales of their current products. It's also the same reason why they don't release their major IPs too close to each other.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.I have this weird potpourri of emotions regarding Nintendo.
On the one hand, I still love their games and will always have fond memories and will continue to play their games.
On the other hand, they've pulled some really sketchy moves this year. Namely the limited availability of Super Mario 3D All-Stars (and also Fire Emblem) but 3D All Stars is very lackluster itself. 64 isn't properly remastered in widescreen, Sunshine isn't compatible with the Game Cube, having to use the touchscreen when playing Galaxy in handheld, the complete lack of bonus content aside from the OS Ts, no Galaxy 2, very overpriced. There's also them trying to deny that Joycon drift is an issue because denying an issue totally means it doesn't exist, right?
I basically love Nintendo's game developers, but have become disillusioned with Nintendo as a publisher.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!I have a bit of the same feeling on top of some growing disillusionment with how various mid-level and lower franchises of theirs have either disappeared or not been utilized that strongly. The funny thing is that I've grown to love the Switch largely as an ideal way to play indie titles that are giving me the sorts of genre games and successors to releases that Nintendo itself now seems far less interested in.
That's generally the sphere I'm looking towards for the chances of getting things like a decent Star Fox esque game or further old school Mario RPG style titles.

That too, same issue they've had since the Wii.
It's the issue of not even bothering with games like F-Zero, Kid Icarus, Star Fox, Golden Sun, Punch-Out, Donkey Kong, Metroid, etc. However, they will continue to release a stream of Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Splatoon, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Kirby, and Animal Crossing games.
Which sucks if you're a big fan of the "lesser" franchises over the ones that Nintendo will continuously release games for. This year was also F-Zero's 30th birthday and it got nothing while Mario and Fire Emblem are the ones getting something.
Basically, Nintendo is relying too much on a few specific franchises and ignoring their massive amount of I Ps. Same issue that Sega and Capcom have had last decade.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!But... Xenoblade’s only had three games and Splatoon’s only had two, and they only release one per console generation. They’re hardly getting in the way of other properties. Especially Xenoblade, which isn’t even taking manpower from in-house.
SoundCloudYeah, I'll admit those two are a stretch here.
I think I'm just listing stuff that Nintendo has been more okay with releasing new entries for yet ignoring other franchises they have, and Xenoblade and Splatoon count in that category.
It should be noted however that Splatoon gets constant updates and splatfests. And Xenoblade had the Torna expansion.
It should also be noted that I do like most of the franchises that Nintendo tends to constantly release, but I also love the "ignored" franchises a bit more.
Again, I have weird potpourri of emotions regarding Nintendo.

You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!I heard Golden Sun: Dark Dawn didn't sell that well, so they probably won't bother with the IP again.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. It sold just barely worse than Lost Age, which in turn sold just a little worse than the first game.
And I wasn't even impressed by Dark Dawn anyway. It felt too safe and had even more unresolved plot threads.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Yeah as I recall dark dawn is considered disappointing by many people.
I just wish they hadn’t tried to make another two-parter without knowing if they’d be able o make the second one. Now we’re stuck with an actual cliffhanger instead of a sequel hook.

I'd kill for a remaster of the first two games.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Golden Sun feels like one of those IP's I think a lot of fans would accept as digital only budget releases if the game itself was well executed.
I'm not sure about "Xenoblade doesn't take power from in-house" bit, because Nintendo constantly leeches off manpower from Monolith.
Where there's life, there's hope.Supposedly the part of Monolith that is outsourced to other Nintendo games is a physically separate team from the main Takahashi-led one.
There's speculation that something's coming down the pipe for Golden Sun, even if it's just another rerelease, since there was a trademark renewal recently apparently done in such a way that requires the IP holder to actually do something with the property as opposed to sitting on it to be approved.
Ooh, interesting. I think that the direction Golden Sun should go in is HD sprites, not 3D graphics. That was one of the appeals of the first two games, and one of the criticisms of Dark Dawn.
The first two games are some of the best-looking games on the GBA, with The Lost Age being easily in the top 5 most gorgeous GBA games ever made. Dark Dawn looks good for a DS game, but it's not spectacular, and it hasn't aged particularly well. I think, if Golden Sun sees a remake or sequel, it should be done with HD sprites to re-capture that visual magic that the first two games had.
HD sprites are more time-consuming and difficult to work with animation wise so I wouldn't count on that being the case.
Report: Nintendo possibly looking at InnoLux to supply mini-LED displays for the Switch Pro.
