The Flipnote Switch leak was actually an April Fools joke that got out of hand.

This is why April Fools sucks.

If didn't have April Fools we wouldn't have cube Kirby.

Noki Bay's "Secret" level (Shine 6) was the level that gave me the most problems back in the day.

I remember having issues with the FLUDD-less levels in Sunshine.

Trails of Cold Steel 4 hits the Switch in the west next year.

(And as for why I don't think this is a joke, it's not crazy enough: NISA has done previous Trails games, so that checks out; a Switch version of 4 was previously announced; and really, this does seem like a case of poor timing.)

Also, if they aren't straight ports, there needs to be some kind of way to track how many Blue Coins you have collected in every stage.

Cold Steel 4 announcement is not an April Fools' Day joke, it's been confirmed true.

I'm surprised, though, given Cold Steel 3 isn't even available on Switch yet. They must be confident it'll do well on this console.

...remember that news about how Neptunia VII was getting a Switch port? IFI has announced that it's hitting the NA and EU eShops this summer.

Someone please tell me that the mainline Neptunia games are better than Super Neptunia RPG was.

They definitely are.

The newest Cooking Mama game came out but it had a very quiet release. Most people weren't aware it came out, it has Invisible Advertising, and it's impossible to find a copy. It apparentlygot pulled from the eShop after a few hours.

I heard it was unlicensed and actually contained malware, so best not to try to play it.

I've heard a lot of that (the bitcoin mining in particular) is a hoax and that it probably got pulled for not following broader Nintendo guidelines.

Eh, the most logical thing I've heard is the whole "unlicensed" part, since "legal issues" is likely the fastest way to get Nintendo to yank your game from the eShop (second fastest being "your title has an exploit that can be used for Arbitrary Data Execution in it").

Okay, now this makes sense. The whole cryptocurrency thing was the result of a higher up spouting buzzwords that people latched onto.

The game does have issues, apparently including a tendency to cause high temperatures for the Switch hardware (it's a Unity game made by rookies, who would have guessed it had issues?). Also, apparently the devs put the game into production (and hit the "available for release" button) without the publisher's okay, so said publisher had the digital releases yanked and halted the production of further physical copies as soon as they found out.

The end result is, there are a limited number of physical copies, so if you want a copy of Cookstar (if, say, you want to experience this travesty personally, or are a collector) grab one while you still can.

Cooking Mama Cook-Your-Switch sounds more accurate.

Turns out Cooking Mama was Martha Stewart all along.

Are the Switch's servers experiencing issues or something?

I'm downloading DLC for a game (Blaz Blue: Cross Tag Battle, specifically the update that has 9 characters) and it's taking forever.

EDIT: I realized that this is likely due to the fact that I'm doing the download at night. smh.

Huh, Inti Creates announced the second DLC character for Blaster Master Zero 2, in a bilingual stream earlier this morning.

It's the Empress, from Dragon Marked For Death. Release date is the 21st (to match DMFD's new update and Steam release) and price is $2 (no word on a free period yet). From what I've seen, she's a DPS burst character, but she's lacking the sheer number of abilities Copen had, so she has to rely on her tank more (which is nice, since Copen barely needed his).

There's going to be a stream focused on this later today, so we should have more info tonight.

Cookstar comes off as, well, off compared to previous games. I think Mama is off-model (at least on the cover) and she has a new VA. This is probably because of the new studio.

Shoot. This made me remember Nippon Ichi's mascot girl Nisa...who kinda disappeared ever since IF cut their ties with Nippon Ichi.

Nisa still shows up in the Disgaea series as dlc, though they can’t reference that she is from Neptunia at all.

Nintendo halts Switch shipments to Japan due to supply chain disruptions; US and Europe unaffected.

They can't directly reference her series of origin, but NIS and NISA still slip in plenty of less direct references: One of her alternate color schemes is based on Neptune, and D5 has her mention Gamindustri, both as a random voice line ("Protect Gamindustri!") and a text line in the pocket netherworld (wondering if you can see Gamindustri from the pocket netherworld).

Seems like there will be online downtime to distribute a system update on Monday, April 20th between 6 and 8 pm PDT.
