Would anyone be interested in a game that took the setting of Paranoia, shoved in some Call of Cthulhu, and flavored with whatever odd bits of sci-fi media I dredged up? GM will not be responsible for any real world sanity loss.

I'm thinking I'll do a Star Wars Bounty Hunter RP set during the years of the Empire on the outer rim in the uncharted regions, players will play a small collection of bounty hunters going after various bounties.

Made it.

I’ve been wanting to do a rp about psychic who falls into a coma, which initiates his powers and starts causing things to happen which can only be stopped if he is either killed or wakes up.

I also have another idea about a teenager who lives in a city built around a so called, “pinnacle tower” who come across an age old conspiracy to use the tower to open rifts in the space time continuum. Time travel and confusion ensues.

Camelot Academy, fittingly located in England, is Europe's premier Superhero Training Academy, headmastered by King Arthur himself. Those with exceptional abilities are brought together and taught the art of heroics, so they may become the next generation of heroes. But darkness lurks on the horizon, and as one might expect, those who sign up to enter life-and-death situations will find those situations approaching earlier than they think. Thus begins My Superhero Academy: Foreign Exchange. (Title tentative)

To be completely clear, I won’t be GMing here. I’m just doing this in place of MichaelDj54, who is on vacation right now and won’t be able to post a signup until he gets back. We’ve already got a decent sized lineup of players, but we wanted to put this here in case anyone else is interested.

Alright, real life has kept me away for a long while now and I had to abandon my first attempt at making a crossover RP.

However, I still want to run a crossover RP and I now have the time to do so. Since Halloween is almost upon us, I'm thinking it could be a survival horror RP or a dark fighting game RP that is inspired by Mortal Kombat, Darkstalkers, and other arcade fighters from the 90's.

Which would you all prefer? Survival Horror RP or Fighting Game RP?

I know both ideas are sort of vague, but I don't want to spoil too much other than the fact that both are done in the style of the genres as they existed in the 90's.

I was wondering what was going on with the other roleplay of yours. I was waiting for it to get started(as you're the GM, making the first post would be your responsibility). But nothing happened. I was waiting and ready to go. smile

[up]I apologize for that. By the time I was able to get the free time to do so (I was out of town for several days, BTW) I decided to do a better idea.

I remember doing a SH RP by having non-SH characters tossed into SH situations. Almost did okay.

[up]Interesting

I was thinking of making my idea more like the classic Resident Evil games and its myriad clones and imitators in the second half of the 1990's.

The RP itself would be a period piece set in The '90s and I'm thinking of having a rule about "retro characters only", with a cut-off point of 2001 or so. I might not do that and just let all types of characters in, so long as they aren't overpowered.

[up]I'll allow it. Although if the character is above a certain level on the Super Weight chart, they may have to be nerfed.

Someone commented they'd be interested in my Magical Maid-ens RP idea (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=15644674510A24062500&page=1#comment-1 ) and I'm still willing to run it, assuming I can get at least 2-3 players (more preferred). Premise is you wake up in the body of a teenage girl and are informed that a group of magical girl heroes have had their souls stolen, and you've been chosen as one of the soul-replacements. Players are expected to use a Maid the RPG character generator (several available online). Maid the RPG is a VERY rules light, easy to use system. You just tell me what you want to do and which one of six attributes you think best fits that action.

And on the other side, I'm actually considering creating my own Magical Girl roleplay. ... The idea's not super well-formed yet, I've literally got "Magical Girl" and "in the future" and nothing else. But I'm working on that. ... Slowly.

Would anyone be interested in a roleplay set in Equestria?

There's already one out there, yet it isn't necessarily about ponies hanging around Equestria- only a singular location said in said magical land.

I'm pretty sure there aren't any more set in Equestria, last I checked. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.

So... I'm trying to start a Star Trek/Star Wars crossover RP, as seen here: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=15785286360A61785300&page=1

Sure, I have some interested potential players, but not really enough to get it rolling.

Does this idea sound good to anyone?

I've been thinking about an Isekai RP that's focused on some sort of advanced VR simulation, but I don't want to make it a retread of Sword Art Online or something like that. I'll be doing some creative development of the premise before I start the signup thread, so keep an eye out for that

Okay, so there's this idea in my head that doesn't seem to want to leave me be, and I want to float it by this thread before I put too much serious thought into it (too late). For your consideration... Disney Princess Game of Thrones.

A couple of inspirations for this inherently funny premise. First was a particular Robot Chicken sketch. Second of all, though, was a forum game I saw played out on another forum, based around a Game of Thrones premise. Players would group into teams for a different nation- taking roles of Generals, Diplomats, Traders etc -and throughout ten 'episodes' much intrigue, war, political skullduggery and mysterious lore-learning took place.

If there's any interest, I'll go into more depth on the rules, maybe start work on the playing field. If not, well, I can finally let my brain rest.

I'd be interested to see how the Kingdoms work out.

LizardOfAus Since: Feb, 2010
#1572: Mar 10th 2020 at 3:03:12 AM

Well, interest is interest. I'll do a bit of work on a possible map of the kingdoms. In the meantime, I may as well do a quick rundown of the rules. (At least a version of them. The original experimental game had a lot of flux when it came to the rules)

The basic setup would have a map of a continent with a certain number of nations on it (to keep things at a manageable level, let's just have the European ones for now), and a spot in the middle where one player would sit on the 'Iron Throne' so to speak. In the context of this game, we'd probably have Queen Elsa here, ruling on high with Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, Rapunzel, Anna and Merida at her beck and call (are you frightened yet?)

The game would function in rounds called “episodes”. Each episode would last for a week, but there'd be no limits on how many actions to take inside of that. In the event of a character travelling from one land to the next, they would move between adjacent nations at a rate of one every 24 hours. Going by boat would cut that time in half, with a tradeoff that your voyage would common knowledge wherever you leave and wherever you arrive. At the end of the week, I'd do a writeup of all the action that's taken place, framing it all as if it were the chapter of a book.

For characters, I think it would be a mix of Canon Disney characters for specific roles, and OCs for anything not filled. Each player would go through the usual process of writing up a signup sheet, which would include a section on Stats for Strength, Agility, Intelligence, and Charisma, and a given amount of points to assign. Whenever someone wants to take a particularly complex action, I'd use an RNG to calculate their degree of success.

Finally, a brief summary of the roles most players would take

  • Ruler: The roles probably filled by the Canon Kings/Queens. These players rule over their respective nations or factions. They have final decision-making power over the players in their nation, and their opinions can sway a vast number of Soldier NPCs. They must worry about the approval of those living in their region, make sure the other players in their region do their jobs, and must contend in a deadly political arena with the other rulers across the Seven Kingdoms.
  • Princess: Playing the Canon Disney Princesses, these players form Queen Elsa's Council. They are a mix of the General, Diplomat, and Loremaster roles; each commands a fifth of the forces defending Elsa's citadel, while also providing the her with advice and helping with any diplomatic issues that arise. The Princesses each have what they refer to as “little birds” in the respective regions to keep them informed on any happenings there- considering these girls, they'd probably be literal little birds! It would be possible (but difficult) for a Princess to spread their birds into other regions as well.
  • General: These players are in charge of their region’s army – maintaining it, training it, and leading it if need be. Should it become necessary, the General will also serve as their nation’s second in command should their Ruler perish or disappear. They must worry about the morale of their troops, while also keeping up to date on the movements of other forces across the island.
  • Diplomat: These players oversee diplomatic relations and trade. They will often need to travel to perform their duties or send messages via the Princesses (though this will cost them approval within their region). They must worry about their approval, as the public will dislike a Diplomat that does not appear to be performing their duties. Travel can also be dangerous, and for Diplomats, even more so.
  • Loremaster: These players are more reclusive, serving as historians, advisors, and oftentimes adventurers. They can use their vast knowledge of the land and its histories to help any players that might ask them for advice (particularly their Rulers), but Loremasters are also known to frequently leave their regions to explore, searching out answers to new questions.

can we use any disney princess or just the ones you mentioned?

LizardOfAus Since: Feb, 2010
#1574: Mar 10th 2020 at 3:27:51 PM

Well, I was gonna limit it to that group, but on second thought, that might be too discouraging for players. Besides, it'd be a fantasy world with different time periods crossing over, so why on earth should I be limited by real world geography?

Tell you what: I'll let each incoming players pick their own princess, then I'll provide the fluff for the country they'd reign over and stick it on the map. I'll still cap it off as seven kingdoms, though. Twelve factions plus Frozen would be way too unwieldy, and there'd be no guarantee everyone would sign up for all the other roles.
