Well, I'm highly likely to be 'running' another RP tomorrow, and I don't know too much about RBWY, so it'll give me time to try and get up to speed with everything.

If I may ask, I would still like to know why Mr. Saturn was so opposed to me joining this RP.

• Name: Maren (pronounced like maroon, but with the long oo shortened to a short e) de Lis.
• Gender: Ambiguous. (Sorta like Crona from Soul Eater.)
• Age: 18 (initially as their birthday is close to the start of the school year).
• Birthday: Tempestas 14.
• Race: Human.
• Appearance: Maren is shortish (5'1") and skinny. They have purple eyes and wear purple glasses. They wear a white hoodie with a design on the front that looks like this◊, but purple, generally with the hood up. Under the hoodie, in the rare times it's ever unzipped at all, they have a plain purple t-shirt. On the front of the shirt there's a pin (see weapons section for more details). Their hair is shoulder length, pulled back into a pony tail, and white with a hair clip in it (see weapons section for more details). Generally wears purple headphones with white trimming.
  
  Maren wears purple pants with this design◊ running down her left pant leg. They wear white sneakers with purple laces. They carry around a purple bag with books in it wherever they go.
• Weapons and Equipment:
  • Flowering Grave: Flowering Grave normally looks like a pin on Maren's sweatshirt on the left and a hair clip in Maren's hair on the right, both with an identical flower pattern on them that look like this◊, but less sparkly, and with the colors being light purple and white rather than gold and silver, with the pin having the outside purple and inside white, while the clip has the reverse.
    
    Flowering Grave turns into a pair of Mk 1 Trench Knives◊, the pin going to Maren's left hand and the brooch to Maren's right hand. The left knife has a purple handle and white blade, while the right knife is the reverse. The knuckles on Flowering Grave in trench knife mode are designed differently than most Mk 1 Trench Knives to resemble the flowers they form in the pin and clip mode.
    
    Finally, the two knives/pin and clip turn into a broken apart Remington Model 10 Trench Variant shotgun with the left one becoming the gun's back and the right one becoming the barrel. The shotgun is purple everywhere the gun in that image is brown and white everywhere in that image the gun is metallic.
• Semblance: Blood Knight: When Maren gets in a fight, their Semblance begins to grow in power. It's made stronger if they get blood on them, even their own blood, the more blood the more power. (I may have it only activated by blood, especially if this is too powerful, but also depending on how gory things will be in this rp. I added the fighting activates it part because there isn't that much blood in RWBY itself.) When it activates, their personality begins to change (see personality section for more details) and they grow stronger, faster, and more resilient. In this state, they are sort of like Shizuo from Durarara!! in terms of abilities. In addition, they slowly lose all feeling. They stop feeling pain, hot, cold, or other such stuff. Finally, they stop feeling fear in this state, becoming a pure berserker warrior, living only for the fight and dominance of their opponents. However, despite their increased abilities, they lose their ability to think tactically. While they may use trickery, feints, flanking, and generally good tactics normally, as their power increases, they start being more and more aggressive and more and more straight forward. They'll announce their presence, attack head on recklessly, ignore wounds and danger, and face foes they have no chance of defeating.
• Personality: Maren is usually quiet and nervous, keeping mostly to themselves and reading a lot. Indeed, they love old stories of great heroes and they have wished, since childhood, that they could be like the heroes of their stories, but they never thought that they'd be good enough to do it, keeping a usually dour demeanor from their lack of self-worth and self-confidence. Because of their lack of self-confidence, they didn't apply the first year they could to Beacon, but the year after. However, their love of heroes has given them a very strong sense of justice, so though they lack confidence in themselves, they will try to help people who are being bullied or embarrassed or otherwise being hurt or taken advantage of.
  
  Despite being shy and their heroic side, Maren is also a bit of a closet perv. They enjoy romance novels and, like with novels about heroes, they often imagine themselves as the heroes and heroines of those novels. Because of this, they tend to have very strong, though usually brief, crushes on other people. They also get a bit morbid, especially when they're reading something dark, and, thanks to everything that happened with their parents (see bio for more info), they have a morbid fascination with death, violence, and creepy stuff. They often like to use this to mask their romantic and heroic sides because this is the only thing they are confident that they can be good at. As such, they usually show this side of themselves to others, first.
  
  However, when their Semblance begins to take effect, they begin acting differently. Though normally quiet and timid, often stumbling over words, as their Semblance grows stronger, they get more confident and louder, eventually becoming downright boisterous. In addition, they begin to have fun and enjoy the fight. Though normally they do have a strong sense of justice, once their Semblance takes effect, they begin to be downright vicious to those they see as doing wrong. Rather than merely seeking to stop them, they seek to punish them as well. Being in this state scares them, somewhat, but they also find themselves enjoying it, so, despite their fear of it, they sometimes actively seek it out.
• Bio: Maren's mother was a sweet lady who always doted over them and treated them well, buying them books and other presents, but their father wasn't so nice. Their father, growing up, was an alcoholic, and an abusive one at that. When he would be drunk, he would crush Maren's self-worth, destroy their books, and beat them (and their mother), while, when he was sober, he would generally ignore Maren. This left Maren always seeking their father's approval and their mother's comfort when they were really young, but they never got any, leaving their self-worth damaged.
  
  However, things got worse when they were 14 and their father, while drunk, went too far in beating Maren's mother in a rage, and she was sent to a hospital in a coma. Outraged, and finally having enough of their father's abuse, they attacked him with their father's own weapon, then called Hero's Heart and colored red. It was then that they first used their Semblance. Once the ambulance and police got there, Maren had to be pulled off their father, and their testimony, along with their mother's injuries, put his father away. Maren, though definitively shown to have attacked their father, was cleared of wrongdoing because it was seen as an act of self-defense. Their mother died half a year later.
  
  Having lost both their parents, they were sent to live with their kind aunt and uncle, and they withdrew more than they ever had before. In the 4 years they lived with their aunt and uncle, they barely spoke beyond one or two words. During this time, they mostly read or practiced their skills, with the second becoming more and more common as their time there went on. They had been able to get their father's weapon, giving it a paint job to make it purple, and renaming it Flowering Grave for the flower design it took, giving it that name when they visited their mother's grave to leave flowers. It was only over time that they began to finally open up, and, finally, they found it in themselves to apply to Beacon one year later than is standard. They aced the exam to enter Beacon, and were accepted, despite being older than normal.

Bit dark for Beacon: Next, huh? I mean, I have no problems with the character itself...but the tone...What do you guys think? Rom? Insano? Amp?

Well, most of their darkness (which is a bit a theme with my characters) is in their backstory, but, in actual personality and stuff, they're much less dark (sort of how Yang and Blake have dark backstories, but less dark characters). They'd be more the quiet time, except when their Semblance is activated, where they start to act more like Shizu-chan when he gets angry, if he were an avid fan of books. Like, with their Semblance working, they'd do stuff like try to come up with a catch phrase and quote their favorite heroes from their books and stuff like that. In that state, they're enjoying the fight and very boisterous.

• Name: Mint Mallory
• Gender: Female
• Age: 17
• Birthday: Flos 16
• Race: Human
• Appearance: Mint stands approximately 5'6" tall and walks with a stiff, upright posture that makes her seem constantly uncomfortable. She has straight, shoulder-length hair which, like her eyes, is mint green in color, and her skin is slightly tanned. For casual/combat wear, she wears an olive green suit-and-tie with a white shirt and black shoes, and black beret but only on formal occasions. Notably, her clothes are always clean and pressed regardless of what day of the week it is.
• Weapons and Equipment:
  • Ginger Snap, a pair of Short Range Disruptor Gauntlets. A weapon completely tailored to Mint's preferred fighting style, they cover her hands and forearms completely in gunmetal grey interlaced with yellow power coils (fully encased in the weapon, of course). Each punch triggers a burst of electricity from the integrated lightning dust crystals that shocks and disorients the target. While its raw damage output is demonstrably lower than other weapons of the gauntlet class, its armor penetration capabilities are second to none. Unusually for a Huntress' weapon, Ginger Snap has no ranged attack mode.
• Semblance: Refraction, a form of light manipulation that allows Mint to deceive enemies into thinking that she or another target is to the side of where they actually are.
• Personality: While outwardly outgoing and friendly, Mint's demeanor is a mask that conceals a lonely, insecure young woman who is deathly afraid of being by herself. As a result, she rarely spends time indoors unless there are other people and frequents places that tend to be lively and bustling, like libraries, cafes, and popular shops. Because of her upbringing and her time at Belltower, which runs more like a military academy, she has a very disciplined mindset when it comes to work and is a stickler for customs and courtesies despite the more relaxed and informal atmosphere of Beacon. Mint sympathizes with the downtrodden and oppressed, having been bullied herself as a child, but this does not extend to people who drag innocents into their battles.
  
  She likes boxing and considers it a more elegant and refined sport, as well as efficient in a world where fights are generally conducted with large weapons or against large monsters where getting inside their effective range is an advantage. However, she has also taken a practical approach and mixes her punches up with some ground fighting techniques.
• Bio: Mint is a military brat who was never particularly close to her father, a sergeant in the Vale Army. She lived with her mother and started her education at Belltower Academy, where training to be a Huntress gave her a connection to the normally absent man. Mint seemed to thrive in the austere, disciplined environment but caught hell from upperclassmen when she was labelled a "teacher's pet", especially after she became a successful member of the Girls' Boxing Team where she was known as Belltower's "Fist of the South Star". Abusing their privileges, a few of the older students hazed her mercilessly, making her memorize ridiculous drink orders at dinner time, clean large areas of the campus alone, or perform dangerous "corrective" physical training for imagined disciplinary infractions.
  
  Mint persevered through all of the misery and pain, and was offered a place at Beacon upon graduation but behind the scenes, it was a difficult sell. The admissions board agreed almost unanimously that she was a damaged girl and despite her exemplary scores, there was an almost-fatal black mark on her record resulting from several incidents. First, experimental riot suppression weapons went missing from a tester's lab. They were recovered soon after but the design of Ginger Snap was suspiciously similar to some of the research being done at the time. Second, Mint was detained by the Provost Marshal when she allegedly turned on one of her tormentors in a rooftop confrontation gone bad. She was released due to lack of evidence at the time (no eyewitnesses) and the official investigation concluded that the other girl fell off the roof in a tragic accident.
  
  Almost no one believes the official story, but no one has stepped forward to offer proof that Mint was even there at the time. Incidentally, nobody bothered her after that night.

• Name: Johann Antonio Vale
• Gender: Male
• Age: 19
• Birthday: Ventus 3
• Race: Human
• Parents: Alexia and Alfred
• Appearance:Fuck your lab safety I want superpowers◊
• Weapons and Equipment: Megaphytosaur: A weapon in the shape of a giant jaw, it is made of two long serrated swords combined with a heat-engine, allowing for it to cause a heat-conductive impact.

It is all handled via using a holding plate as the handle, said plate also has a barrel capable of shooting exploding spikes out of it. In the jaw form the upper sword can be pushed down and the lower sword can be pushed upwards. Like a jaw biting into its prey.

• Paleorhinus: The long serrated sword making up the upper part.

• Protome: The long serrated sword making the lower part.

• Glyptodon: Johann has developed an armor suit filled with electric dust-wiring that creates a shocking field on the armor, electrifying anyone who touches the armor while said field is active. The armor is made of two separate parts, with the main difference between the two being their weight and location. One part covers the torso area and the hands, and is pretty heavy relatively to the other part, but offers a hefty amount of protection, the other which covers his legs, is meant to give good protection, while being incredibly light in relation to the upper part to allow him to use his feet to fight.
• Semblance: D.R.I.: Intialism for "Deconstruction. Reconstruction. Ignition." Johann can break apart the covalent bonds of gaseous compounds in the air and reconstruct them as another compound, specifically, the Carbon in the air and the Hydrogen of the water vapour into Methane form, with the amount of Methane controllable by Jo. Said Methane explodes on the spot as soon as it fully forms. Sending flames and, obviously hazardous explosions onto the vicinity. Much to the chagrin of Johann's enemies, and sometimes his allies as well.
• Personality: Johann is odd. His core philosophy in life: FOR SCIENCE! Johann loves to tinker, to experiment, to see what makes everything in this world work. He's boundlessly curious, and incredibly enthusiastic. He wants to see everything, know everything. Socially, Johann is about as subtle as a brick to the face. Although he's friendly and kind, he's also tactless and completely blunt with everything he says. Johann is always thinking, and comes off as an airhead at times, and sometimes he takes his work so far that he forgets about everything else. Johann tends to tease his little sister whenever he can, and isn't especially protective of her, as he knows she can take care of herself. Also, his attention span is tiny.

• Bio: The oldest child of Alexia and Alfred, the future King of Vale. Johann studied how to rule, but he was quite bored by it all and always preferred his experiments to learning politics. His life was generally spent on one crazy machine after another, one research book and topic to read after the other. He was always quite the prankster, along with being a big pain in the ass for his parents. When he was fifteen, Johann convinced his parents to let him tag along with a team of scientists as they traveled around Remnant. When he returned home four years later, his Aunt Alice promptly made him go to Beacon to learn responsibility.
