Dark Might = The logical conclusion of the "Villain Deku"-route.

Smart enough to figure out how to get as close enough to become All Might and obsessed enough to push all the way through to get there.

[up][up] Makes sense they are putting this just after DARK DEKU.

I wonder how Dark Might will react when he inevitably finds out Deku has One for All.

Fifty bucks says that once he finds out, he's going to call Deku unworthy to have it, and that he deserves it more.

Something something toxic comic book fandom.

I can't help but draw comparisons to Miles Morales for some reason....

So we should Dark Might Miguel Might instead?

Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, we should find the absolutes that tie us.

Looking at the flying fortress in the trailer, I can only chuckle when reminded this:

"If you got more than enough money to build the modern-day version of "The Hanging Gardens of Babylonia" then why resort to villainy in the first place?"

[down] Well, at least it seems that Dark Might is ready to burn money like Francis Fitzgerald for his dream.

Deku: Hey, Kacchan. Last week, I fought this quirkless supervillain. Had some kind of scheme to turn people into dinosaurs. Tech like that could cure cancer, and when I brought that up, he stuck his nose at me and told me he just wanted to turn people into dinosaurs.

Bakugo: For some shitheads, it's not about the money, it's about doing whatever crap to fulfill whatever sadistic dumbass urge they got that morning.

Granted, Dr. Garaki was discredited as a scientist because of his theories, and it was only All for One who would give him the time of day. So he really has no reason to pursue legal means of work when acting as a villain lets him explore avenues in science without any pesky morality to get in his way.

No excuse for Overhaul other than being raised by Yakuza. Dude could have used his powers for SO much good, it's just sad.

Heck, he could have made a killing using his powers for good PR for his Yakuza group. Granted, with how much regular organized crime had fallen apart, I doubt he would be able to pull that off.

This week is basically an extended Motive Rant from Vestige!AFO, but there are two pretty interesting things - one, it's implied that Decay and Overhaul were the same Quirk originally, that Dr. Garaki split up somehow. Second, at the end, The Cavalry arrives - it's the group that were fighting Gashly! And Aizawa, who arrives through one of Kurogiri's portals! So I guess they're friends again? Flashback next chapter?

WOOOOO LEZZ GOOO!!
And now, the results of the 9th popularity poll:
I bet no one will be surprised: Bakugou took 1st (again?), Midoriya 2nd, and Todoroki 3rd. Then comes Dabi, Hawks, Endeavor, Kirishima, Iida, Ochako, and Shouji for the rest of the top 10. Up to the top 30 going down: Monoma, Kaminari, Aizawa, Shinsou, All Might, Himiko Toga, Shigaraki, Jirou, Sero, Rody, Present Mic, Tokoyami, Yaoyorozu, Mirko, You Shindou, Tsuyu Asui, Chronostasis, Hakagure, Tamaki, and Mirio.

Gotta be honest, the implication that Aizawa and Kurogiri mended fences is the most exciting part of this chapter to me.

Arguably his second-in-command together with Mimic. I guess he is a pretty boy, so maybe someone just felt like being silly - and I see the Yo Shindo brigade is still out there.

Anyway, I'll concur with Hamburger. IT WAS ME, TENKO; IT WAS ME ALL ALONG, TENKO! Also, what was even the point of hiding the face of the man that led Tenko back home if the reveal would show us basically someone else, because of course AFO has Quirks for that?

AFO really orcustrated absolutely everything about Tenkos life, even his fricking birth. Urgh.

I dont see the resolution between Aizawa and Kurogiri being just skipped over, so I am absolutely sure we have a flashback coming up.

And yikes, Deku lost his arms for real this time. Though I guess he could be quickly brought to Eri with Kurogiris warp.

I definitely empathize with those sick of AFO, but I was expecting the vestige to return; Shiggy dismissed it WAY too anticlimactically for how prominent it was.

Rolled my eyes at the Reverse Flash routine but I gotta say, Hori's art remains incredible. Shigaraki's spirit shattering and the "withered" Hands for One form both look great. And the ending was super hype. Love to get excited for the loser squad showing up.

So from what I can tell, his backup plan was to make shiggy steal One For All, and then ego break him with Wham Lines to make him cease existence. Since he didnt steal it before hand, he's skipping straight to world domination. And then somehow he gets surprised attacked by probably the three less utilized characters of the entire manga! The Extra-Extras! For all his talk about tropes, AFO really cant comprehend the indomitable human spirit, huh?

Sero, Ojiro and Sato are pretty much the Class 1-A students that are the closest to actual extras, so them getting the jump on Hands for One definitely feels very deliberate. Also the only students that had not had any kind of major moment yet during the war.

Yeah, we’re probably getting a flashback next chapter to explain what happened with Aizawa/Kurogiri/Mic and with Sero/Ojiro/Sato/Gashly.

AFO giving Shiggy Decay was expected but did we seriously need him to be responsible for almost literally everything in Tenko’s life, up to the point of his birth? This is like Reverse Flash “It was me, Barry!” level stuff. I suppose this at least addresses my complaint of why AFO thought he could overpower Shiggy’s consciousness when the entire point was to make Shiggy have the strongest willpower ever.

Decay being a modified copy of Overhaul is…interesting. Kudos to all the fans who correctly identified the facility the Doctor had Toya in as the same orphanage Overhaul grew up in. I thought it was just Hori reusing backgrounds. Though this does seem to introduce the major plot hole of - if AFO had access to Overhaul’s quirk the entire time, why didn’t he just use that to fix his original body.

We finally got the payoff to “Deku over-injured his arms constantly” thing but since there still appears to be an echo of Shiggy that AFO silenced, do you say there are decent odds that once Deku inevitably reaches him again, Shiggy unlocks the “reconstruct” part of Overhaul and restores Deku’s arms?

In addition, the reveal that AFO stole Tenko’s original quirk should mean that there is a separate vestige of pre-Decay Tenko in AFO.

Also, way back in chapter 343 AFO said Aoyoma got the details of his master plan wrong. We’ll probably get the full details of AFO’s world domination plan in a chapter or two to set the stakes of the final part of the fight.

[up] He probably didn't use "Overhaul" on himself because its not a simple quirk to use, but requires a lot of practice and knowledge and experience to master, as seen with Overhaul himself who is by all accounts a qualified surgeon and have immense knowledge of the human body/anatomy as a result. Allowing him to pull the stunts he could do back when he still had arms. We all know that AFO never bothers with anything that take time to learn after all so hence he never bothered trying with it.

[up][up]afo doesn't seem to like quirks that require a lot of effort to use, so overhauling might be a bit too complicated because of how you need to reconstruct the target too if you choose. Also he seemed pretty set on having tenko as a host at that point. Or when they turned it into decay the original was lost too.
