How on earth is even Eri supposed to get there in time? A six-year old on foot won't get very far even if nobody stopped her. Unless she manage to get where Aizawa, Mic, and Kurogiri ended up and have them help her towards the final fight since it is in everyone's interest to keep both combatants alive and safe through this. Also, loving the high-detailed art of the past events, it really sinks in that THIS is the final fight. Like passing through the dark tunnel of judgment towards the light at the end of it for the afterlife-verdict.

Today, on MHA, Shiggy rejects your reality punch and substitutes his own.

Not sure how they intend to get Eri there, but lets see how this plays out.

No new chapter, but there is big news for S7: TK from Ling Tosite Sigure has been chosen to do the OP! Also, apparently, the season's gonna focus on Bakugou...

Makes sense, considering his near-death experience.

One of the many criticisms levied at the series is its sidelining of Ochako and the resulting lack of development in her and Deku's relationship. It's a bit of a shame given that Horikoshi clearly doesn't mind writing female characters (see Mirko's disproportionate spotlight during the first war arc). But what do you think he could have done to make a romance between Ochako and Deku feel earned?

Or in other words, how would they reach this?

Oh, I've thought several times before that I feel Ochako should've found out the truth about One For All way earlier, which could've led to a deeper connection there. Either during the Overhaul arc, where after his interactions with Nighteye and feeling he let Overhaul get away with Eri Deku started doubting his "worthiness" to hold One For All and really needed someone to provide the counterargument to Nighteye's claims about Deku, or after the Joint Training Arc and the Blackwhip Incident.

I understand why the first one didn't happen - In story its probably too soon after Bakugo found out to have another person learn the truth.

Even though the Overhaul arc option is the one I feel would've worked the best dramatically, I'm pretty adamant it should've happened after the Blackwhip Incident, and I actually think that one could be worked more on a romantic angle. Plus being in winter, I think it would be coming up on (though still not quite there) the anniversary of when they met, at the entrance exam. I kind of like that idea, even if it isn't exact.

There is a third option I've considered - After Deku returns to UA after the Dark Deku arc, just come right out with the love confession. I could see this one being pretty dramatic too - Even though Midoriya is finally coming around to the idea he doesn't have to do everything alone, I'm sure he'd still have issues acknowledging a love confession here. Although it would also be a pretty great subversion if he just... Didn't. Just let go of his hesitation.

So yeah, I honestly think there've been several opportunities throughout the series Horikoshi could've advanced the Midoriya/Ochako relationship faster. And my personal opinion is that he should have.

Honestly, I wish there could have been one more breather arc before the war arc that could have developed Izuku and Ochako's relationship, both as friends and as love interests. Their relationship is one of the healthiest in the series and it's a shame we don't get to see more of that.

Now, I know there were two things that kept their relationship stalled: one was Ochako's decision to not pursue her feelings and bottle them up in the Provisional Exam Arc, the other was, of course, Izuku being the ninth wielder of One For All, which already put a barrier between him and those that don't know about it, made worse by the aftermath of the Overhaul and Joint Arcs putting more pressure on him mastering One For All and disproving Sir Nighteye.

The thing is that there could have been something to build on that, like Ochako taking notice that Izuku is hiding something from her and Iida or that Izuku is also feeling the tension of not having anyone else to speak openly besides Bakugou, All Might and Gran Torino, none of which can give him the sort of emotional support he needs. Even having Ochako discuss with the girls how she's afraid that her feelings will meddle with her performance as a hero could have been a welcome addition.

And of course, once Izuku has to leave UA, you could bring all of that back for further development of the two.

Gotta agree, honestly.

But despite that, Hori still gave her grand moment in her speech at U.A towards the citizens, which is honestly one of my top moments of the series, which was enough to make me tear up.

Guess you know what they say, sometimes less is more.

And we back. Pretty good chapter, mostly the other characters' reactions to the battle. Ectoplasm thankfully manages to corral Eri before she hurts herself, and we also check in with Koda and even the guy who led the anti-Deku mob that Ochako talked down. Ochako herself gets picked up by a medical helicopter, and she's in REALLY bad shape. And Deku's next destination in Shiggy's mind? His childhood house...

That said, I'm getting a bit concerned that Eraser vs. Kurogiri might be offscreen'd.

How does a 6 year old child make it to the battlefield in time? Well she doesn't lol, lmao. Chaptet is mainly focused on people either watching or talking about Deku, as well as other heroes being recovered from their battlefields. Chapter ends with Deku landing a solid punch and ending up in front of Tenko's house

Well, next chapter will hit hard, I bet...

Prediction: Eri rewinds Ochaco just enough to save her life. Ochaco then returns just in time to save Izuku as he's falling in midair, and that's how we get that art Hori did of them at the art exhibition.

Now we got back to where it all started for Shiggy.

For all of Shigaraki's talk about "Destroying THAT house!", it still stands there in the one place he'll never be able to lay so much as a finger on it. Inside of him. Meaning that his quest of destroying Japan ain't going to do a single thing to make him feel any better, since even if the country is reduced to gravel at the bottom of the ocean, "The House" will still be there, completely intact. This shows the stakes. This is the moment he needs to be stopped once and for all, before he tries to reduce the whole world into gravel once he is done with Japan, just for the sake of destroying that one single house that will never fall for as long as his hatred reinforce its walls.

This one is for all the marbles. If Deku triumphs, everyone, perhaps even Shiggy himself will know peace (or at least it'll be better than the current situation).

If he fails...

That House lives rent-free inside Tomura.

That settles it: Blown Away by Carrie Underwood needs to be Tomura's theme song.

I always love when they point out the difference between Allmight and Midoriya's "aura". Allmight hid his pain to make people feel protected, which was needed at the time, while Deku openly shows emotion and weakness while still doing everything he can to help others.

I hope this is going to lead to other students actually helping him in some way (maybe thanks to Kurogiri/Shirakumo), but we'll see... For now, I can't wait to see what's going to happen with the memory exchange.

Oh boy, I hope this means All For One or Shigaraki are winning.

Sorry I haven't been online much, I REALLY gotta study hardcore for the next few weeks. Really starting to miss when I could watch MHA when I had free time.

Starting to relate more to Shiggy and just wanting to vaporize things, NGL.

Deku finds out about Shigaraki's past...

It seems all the Vestiges are transferred now. And Nana Shimura is the last, cutting the knot on the cycle of violence she unintentionally started.

Cant say I'm feeling Nana's story seemingly ending with her blaming herself for Kotaro's actions.

I do kinda get it tbh. She was someone who cared so much about the big picture, she forgot the little picture existed, to paraphrase something I've heard used to describe Professor Xavier from X-Men.

It makes complete sense from Nana's POV. I'm never gonna like Kotaro, but of course she'd blame herself.

Volume 40's cover was revealed, and it goes hard!
