My Hero Academia

Um, did anyone notice that the main page for "Boku no Hero Academia" is gone? The subpages still exist, but the main one's gone.

Also chapter nine is out.

Gotta commend the scanlators for cranking the updates to overdrive. The sooner they catch up to the Japanese release the better.

Anyway, good chapter. Bakugou is literally seconds away from committing straight-up murder (and even All Might seems aware of just how egotistical he is), Deku's quickly proving to be cunning and intelligent enough to handle these kind of scrapes, and Ida is enjoyably hammy in his attempt to be the villain. Good stuff.

And yeah, that's weird that the main page disappeared like that. Don't think anyone would've bothered to delete it, right?

If it was put up on the cutlist, it would've been declined. If it wasn't declined, the page would have been locked, but it isn't.

So something more sinister is at play here.

EDIT: I've posted about it in Bug Reports and someone has started recreating the page.

Cutlist log says the page was given the chop for being a stub inundated with zero-context examples that the page creator was given a warning about but failed to fix.

I wasn't aware there was a cutlist log. In any case, it was apparently Septimus who cutlisted it. The cut, in his own words, was apparently a mistake since the page was fixed.

But there's nothing for it other than simply re-adding all the tropes.

I've seen an overwhelming amount of fanart of Izuku with that frog girl and Uraka with whatshisname, the dude with the glasses. Is that a thing the later chapters?

From some snippets of the RA Ws, yeah, he teamed up with frog girl and the shorty ball guy in the next arc.

But the page no longer had zero contect examples when it was deleted. In fact, it was shaping up pretty preetily

Kacchan seems like he's just heading towards a break the haughty situation since he's been told how great he is his entire life.

Chapter 10 was just released.

I'm starting to have no doubt in my mind this is the next big thing. Not only it is a greatly selling battle shonen, but it even gives me the feeling Naruto used to give me in its early days.

Deku is an interearing MC, and Bakugou is Axe-Crazy . The girl is kinda boring but i guess that's to be expected in a shonen. I want to see more of the other students tho.

I think its a bit weird that Deku doesn't stay teamed up with Ura.

Especially after this chapter. But w/e.

This is a school. You're supposed to learn how your powers interact with a wide variety of others. It's pretty sensible.

I hope the pace slows down a bit so they can get some quiet time to develop the characters with.

Chapter 11 has been released

I want to bully Bakugou.

Also I like the design of that one supervillain acting as a bartender.

So wait, was this the one with the frog girl? Because if so, color me cautiously curious.

Yes. She hasn't featured much in the scanlated chapters yet though. Looking at the raws, she only becomes quite prominent in chapter 14 or 15. Although going by the speed of recent releases. We'll get there in one week.

Also, crying Kacchan is best Kacchan. I want to see him cry more.

This chapter is the first one that disappointed me. I really dislike Bakugou, why the fuck is he crying? At first i throught this would be the next Naruto, and it seems i am right, but with the bad parts of naruto too, such as unlikeable rivals.

Because he just had his ego massively shattered? This entire chapter is basically a Break the Haughty moment for him. He's not such a hot stuff like he thinks he is.

Given how much the protagonist cries I'm not sure why you'd really hold that against him.

And what the hell's up with "BHA is the new Naruto" thing, anyway? Is it just because BHA got a succesful start around the moment Naruto ended?

Pretty much. BHA's proven itself to be the next big thing in Jump right at Naruto's endpoint, so a lot of people have considered BHA to be a successor of sorts. YMMV on if that actually applies.

And yeah, Bakugou's whole deal is that he gained a very good Quirk and thus spent his life convinced that he was the best thing ever. He's crying because Deku, someone who he was convinced would always be beneath him, has not only won an assignment against him but also proved he could read his moves like a book. As All Might said, "inflated egos are the fragile ones".

And I'll admit, I was probably too quick/eager to jump down his throat. The whole "I have the right to be full of myself" mindset is one that hits a tad personally with me. Reading the past two chapters, I could actually see Bakugou possibly learning to get over himself and thus redeem himself. However, I wouldn't be surprised if he completely snapped and went full-supervillain beforehand.

Finally, just want to once again commend the scanlation effort. I had just begun adapting to getting a chapter every 2 days, and they manage to outdo themselves even further. We might actually be caught up in a week at this rate.

On the other side, the villans are Bad. Ass.

Seriously look at them. I especially love the guy with the hands.
