I haven't read the Lucifer comics, but I have read Sandman, so I have a basic grasp of Lucifer's character. I like that they included Lux and Mazikeen, at least.

I'm also secretly hoping for some cameos fro the Endless

Hel, if we're lucky and this show is successful enough, it might boot that Sandman movie out of Production Hell.

Those promo pics are...interesting. Although I wish they gave Mazikeen a half-mask like in the comics. I know they can't have her with a half-demon face in every episode, but that half-mask was cool looking.

At least they aren't saying that it's based on the Mike Carey comic book. Because it's completely not.

Why am I not surprised. Was Lucifer really a good guy in the comic though? I never read it but I got the impression he was a jerk most of the time.

He was an anti-hero. He is certainly not nice or good, but often he was up against opponents who were nastier than he was.

In any case, I hope this is the Lucifer they portray:

"They talk of me going around buying souls, like a fishwife come market day, never stopping to ask themselves why. I need no souls. And how can anyone own a soul? No. They belong to themselves ... they just hate to face up to it."

How much are you willing to bet less people would have wanted to watch this if OMM hadn't drawn attention to it?

I mean, it's pretty clear that One Million Moms has almost no power to actually change anything — they tried to get Ellen Degeneres fired by JC Penny, which backfired spectucularly, and have criticized Marvel and DC for having gay characters, which, you know, hasn't stopped Marvel or DC.

They are an arm of the American Family Association, a super Christian organization.

Yeah, these aren't just regular soccer moms. These are crazy Christians who are considered a laughingstock. Last I heard, they only have around 50,000 members. Still too many, though.

Given the nature of this show, I think a Take That! at these kind of organizations is in order at some point.

I hope this show will be good. idk, I have a weird feeling, because this just looks like a generic "high-concept" tv show that fox puts out every couple of years.

I'm going to forget there even was a Lucifer comic and thus expect to enjoy this show.

No, the comic was really, really good, but the show has nothing at all to do with it aside from a few character names.

I've heard mostly mixed things about this show from preliminary reviews.

I watched the leaked pilot. It wasn't necessarily bad. It wasn't just that breaking new. Just another female-cop-and-strange-partner thing.

I generally like Wunza plots personally. And Lucifer doesn't seem too far off. I never read the comics but I did read Sandman, so I do have a little experience of this version of Lucifer.
