I would argue it's not as bad since Deception shows him kinda of a dick to begin with.

Rain didnt show in deception, maybe in konquest in a non canon aparience but since armaggedon rain move to a good guy to pretty much a docuhebag with not explanation except a retcon.

In general MK have not issue changing the morality of some chararters: rain turn bad sindel turn bad, tanya turn grey-ish, hanzo turn good(granted this was and explanation so it is something) and of course, Kabal infamously flip flopping from one to another.

Yea, I'm talking about Konquest Mode. Shujinko does a sidequest for him & gets no reward for it.

Yeah Kabal was fucked up baaaaad. The only good thing MK 11 did to him was ship him with Sareena and only because it was super out-there and strangely funny that he's into top tiers

That pairing will never not annoy me & if that's implying that's all they can think of what to do with Sareena then that just pisses me off.

There is something hilarious on Kabal messing with time and deciding to get himself a hot goth demon wife.

Is weird considering the story sareena and sub zero(both bi han and kuai liang) have with her, she should be paired with one of the two really.

What is hilarious is that kabal decide to pretty much give kronica is job again, is the most weirdly stuff ever.

For all intent & purpose, it's not like Kabal knows someone who can do a better job. On top of that, Kabal clearly thinks being the timekeeper is an unbelievably stressful job.

Although, admittedly beating the guy to take their occupation just to give it back is pretty amusing.

If we had the characters from the Armageddon timeline battle that reboot counterparts, who do you think would win?

I think Armageddon Shoa Kahn would beat his current counterpart.

I'd say either human or Fire God Liu Kang would beat Zombie Liu Kang.

Hard to said, khan when to serious badass decay for a couple of games, he recover a lot of it in aftermath(and show why bad guys cant get episodes to them).

and fire liu kang is not the best comparation, is more if reveant liu kang would beat zombie liu kang, since is esencially the same concepto.

Revenant Liu Kang at least thinks for himself, compared to the Zombie who was basically Dark Raiden's puppet as far as he was shown.

Interestingly enough MK 11 still shows Zombie Liu fighting Dark Raiden. Which would suggest that Spirit Liu found a way to back into his body & try to stop Raiden. Still not entirely sure how Shao Kahn survived against Onaga.

is hard to said because the M Kteam stop trying to make sense of armaggedon a long time ago, armaggedon is pretty much abort arc: the game.

Yea, I guess it wouldn't be a modern MK if they didn't abandon an arc.

I still can't believe none of the MK X arcade endings was canon. What massive waste, I was so ready for a dragon tamer Sub-Zero.

Don't even fucking get me started on the pretty damn awesome plot hooks they added for MKX then fucking ignored. I gotta be honest, that really frustrates me. I twas setting up for a new Earth-Outworld war that was rife with intrigue with tons of new twists to the story and a new take on Dark Raiden that actually had an army by his side and instead MK 11 dumps that for some time travel shit, wipes out Dark Raiden after like five seconds and goes "DOESN'T MATTER KRONIKA DID IT" to everything.

I don't think they ever followed up on those endings.

I mean in MK 9 Jade's ending had her like possessed by some unknown deity and I don't thinl whatever that was was ever explained.

She's supposed to be Jade's mom.

I don't have a problem with Kronika, I just wished they're willing to do something more about MK X's arcade endings before the time travel shenanigans. I also really want to stop being punished for paying attention to MK's lore for the last 15 years.

I think it's been confirmed that entity was an Early-Bird Cameo of Kronika, actually.

MK 11 is a good game but is a terrible MKX sequel, it pretty much cut short every sequel hook and try to install kronika as far as posible.

It cant be because kronika was though as man and change to a woman mid production, it is more a foreshowing of a time traveling plot becoming a thing, as kitana ending in MKX, kinda how blaze ending in MKDA and MKU explain MKA

Yes, that's behind the scene already suggest that Kronika was never supposed to be the Unknown Woman. Too much info contradicts one another which is up MK 11's story structure.

It's just a popular theory that she's supposed to be Kronika but that's been Jossed.

I don't believe MK 11 is a bad story sequel to X, I just believe too many things were aborted. Between Dark Raiden, exploring the Revenants' mindset, characters' exclusions & vaguely hinting what happened just doesn't properly give the proper closure to the NRS era.

In other news, Twitter really, really, REALLY wants a remaster of Shaolin Monks.

Well, that's an idea. Although also noting that more people want to see Deception back than I expected.

People been wanting a remastered & a sequel to Shaolin Monks long before Twitter did.

Contrary to popular belief, Deception has always been a popular game by the 3D era.
