The first paragraph of the description makes it sound like a YMMV trope ("you would wonder why the effort was made, but you don't because it's just that funny). But the way it seems to be generally used is much simpler and more objective: a gag with an unusually long or complex setup (see pic), sometimes so long that the audience realizes that it's a setup, and some of the humor comes from the anticipation (see page quote). I propose we rewrite the definition with that in mind.

Addressing the reader in this way doesn't make the write-up YMMV. It is just informal, which we like.
