Name: Ryan Smith Takahashi
Callsign/Title: Young Gun
Faction and Rank: Federation Gunner
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Appearance: Of Japanese and English descent, Ryan is on the short side of medium tall and slender. He's got short gold-blonde hair and brown eyes, and a slight tan left over from years of training on the ground. May be considered handsome by some, but has a sense of nerdiness over him.
Personality: Polite and respectful, Ryan is quick to follow orders from his superiors. He prefers to avoid conflict when he can, but his commitment to his duty goes before this preference. Ryan is also very interested in physics and ballistics, and has a great fondness for Frames. Since he has little battlefield experience, he still feels nervous about piloting one, however. In his spare time, he likes to read, mostly from his personal dataslate.
Backstory: Born as the son to a physics teacher and a nurse on Mars, it was never presumed that Ryan would pursue a career in the military. Ryan never distinguished himself in his youth, though he got good grades, and finally joined the military because he could not find anything better to do. There, however, he showed a remarkable talent for operating heavy weaponry, especially cannons and long-distance beam weapons. This was picked up on by a Talent Scout, who made sure he early on could accumulate practise time in a frame and become an Ace.
How you became a knight/ace: High scores in virtual training and a great sniper talent.
Frame
Frame Name: Nue
Frame Model: Genus
Weapons Loadout: SuWe-15 Sniper Rifle and a MLW10 Railgun
Appearance: A little used and unmodified Genus, with a black paintjob and red details.
Neo, you went into way more detail with your loadout than was necessary at the moment. As for the railgun... Mrgh, but I'll allow it. You're approved.
Wryte, you're approved. But you're required to say "Dammit Isra, I'm a Remora not a Cobalt!" or something along those lines at least once in the RP.
Rabbit, you're approved as well.
Lemurian... We already have a sniper, but that's not in and of itself a bad thing. The issue's that you have two medium weapons - when as a specialist you can carry one primary and one secondary. Just switch the MLW 10 for the MLW 4 and you're good to go.
Gah, I didn't notice neo's sniper, since his mech wasn't on the list when I wrote the SU. I'll change it.

Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia! That'd be because Neo reserved a post instead of putting things in order. He only finished his... Sometime after I fell asleep, anyways.
You don't have to change yours, necessarily! But if you want to, I don't stop you.
I've heard a lot about the old thread, so I thought I'd give this a shot!
Name: Felix Novak
Callsign: Apollo
Faction and Rank: Federation Lieutenant
Gender: Male
Age: 39
Appearance: Around 6'1" with pale skin, brown hair, and cold green eyes. What was once a sharp, but warm face is weathered and hard, an ugly scar running from the left cheek towards the back of the head. His medium build is accentuated by large shoulders. Out of uniform, he always seems to be wearing an old Venusian PDF jacket.
Personality: Most who met Felix today would describe him as "quiet and uninviting, and he smells like cigarettes" which is probably an image he projects intentionally. This description clashes starkly with records from his early days in the Venusian PDF and his time assigned there as an Aerospace frame pilot, wherein he is described as being "loud and charismatic, managing to be both the heart and head of the squadron". Talking to Felix about Venus in general is a quick way of ending a conversation with him. As mentioned, he has a tendency to smoke, though he usually refrains from doing so in spaceflight.
Backstory: Felix was born on Luna to frame pilot Anya Novak and Dr. Roland Hall in the city of Caspian. Though both of his parents were often busy, they were very loving whenever they were able to be home. When Felix was 16, Anya was killed in a "Friendly-fire incident" in the Altair system; she was given a military funeral with full honors, along with a posthumous promotion to Captain. He signed up for military service a year later, and was ultimately assigned to the Venusian PDF, where he served for seven years. He was called "Apollo" by others in his unit due to him being the only Lunarian among them, but while it may have been something of a mocking nickname, as Felix proved himself to his comrades, he was referred to as Apollo out of respect and friendship. Eventually he ended up being recommended to the Aerospace Corps. Felix served on numerous fronts as a pilot, but eventually was stationed back on Venus with his own squad, several members of which were old friends from the PDF. He was eventually scouted as a potential Ace, the final decision to be made within a week. That night, after much partying and celebration, a pirate raid using stolen Frames hit the colony where they were stationed. The incident was later referred to as the "Bloody Sunrise" due to having the highest number of casualties in one conflict in the history of the colony, and because despite that much of the local PDF forces were wiped out, the pirates were wiped out before noon. Felix was the only survivor of his squad, having run out of ammo for his rifle, he had resorted to taking a second Jian from one of his fallen comrades. While the "Bloody Sunrise" went on to be a lesson on being prepared for anything within the PDF and was already a popular topic among Venusians-although naturally those few who remained after the attack tended to be offended by its swift transformation from a real tragedy to a legend or folktale-less than a year after the fact, Felix was badly affected by the sudden loss of his comrades along with countless PDF troops and civilians, and was put on indefinite leave due to psychological concerns; this naturally included the withdrawal of his recommendation to the ACES.
How you became an Ace: After a few years of drifting, Felix found himself on Baqi, where he was contacted by someone who claimed to be an old friend of his mother's; they told him that Anya was not killed by accident, but that to learn more, Felix would have to return to piloting and work his way up to a position with the power to acquire the whole truth. Within the month Felix was cleared to return to duty, and after a short operation in an aggressor unit to prove that he'd retained his piloting skills, he was finally recruited as an Ace.
Frame Name: Dawn
Frame Model: Quicksilver
Weapons Loadout: Jian x2, Repair Kit x4, System Restore Kit x2, Flares x4, Prism Cloud x2
Appearance: A crimson paint job with little other decoration, besides a set of memorial markers for fallen comrades on the left shoulder.
Let me know if I should cut back on the backstory and such, I have a bad habit of overthinking stuff like that.

I think every idea is a good one, except for the ones that are bad.Zautse, you're approved.

Because that's pretty intimidating.
I am become Death, Destroyer of Miniputts.PILOT
Name: Lydia Smith
Callsign/Title: Valkyrie
Faction and Rank: Federation Pilot First Class
Gender: Female
Age: 24
Appearance: With her flowing blonde hair and curvy but slightly muscular build, Lydia often makes heads turn when she enters the room. Of an unknown Northern European descent, Lydia is hardly ever seen without a big smile on her face and a spark in her icy blue eyes.
Personality: Cheerful and energetic, Lydia is sometimes dismissed as naive or possibly dim-witted. However, this energy gets a darker touch when she's piloting her Frame, in which she becomes a whirlwind of blades, showing no mercy to her enemies. She loves a good battle, and will chase retreating enemies if not halted. While she's easily distracted, she'll loyally follow her orders to the end.
Backstory: Orphaned as a baby when her colony was attacked (attacker unknown), Lydia grew up in an orphanage. It took several years before she was adopted, but she looks back at her time at the orphanage with fond memories. She joined the Aerospace Corps at a young age, attracted by the allure of piloting Frames. Once she was in one, the trainers were shocked at seeing her change in attitude and considered throwing her out. However, a well-experienced Talent Scount decided that she had great potential and decided to train her for the Aces. She spent some years in pirate-infested areas, assisting the Peacekeepers and gathering combat experience, until she was accepted into the Aces.
How you became a Ace: Great combat talent, and a five-year posting with the Peacekeepers. What really spoke in her favour was the apparent ease with which she identified the weak spots of enemy ships and disabled them with her sword. The moment that was deciding in her being chosen was her success in successfully neutralizing an enemy Corvette by piercing the hull with her blade and destroying the bridge.
FRAME
Frame Name: Einherjar
Frame Model: Cobalt
Weapons Loadout: SURI-9 and Zhanmadao
Appearance: The Cobalt is of the newest design, but it's clear it has already seen action. It is pure white in colour, but with red markings on the shoulders. The lines on the right are for Frames she has destroyed in battle, while the red skulls on the left symbolize ships that she has taken down.

^^^ Of course not. It shoots repair foam. What good would a gun that shoots medicine be for fixing machines?

One more question.
Generally what do the Mechs look like?
PM box is Closed, Indefinitely Friend Code: 3368-4181-6850Usually, they look sort of like Robots.
Mé féin ag daṁsa faoin ngealaċ seanrince gan ċeol leis ach ceol cuisle. DS FC: 4141-3472-4041, feel free to add me.Shush, Faux.
Generally, they are humanoid - with a distinct (but often -not- human) head, arms, torso, and legs. They are approximately 15-20 feet tall, and carry their weapons in their hands or shoulders. The primary inspiration on my end is Armored Core, so for example the Quicksilver's inspiration was this◊. Eventually I'll get more comprehensive frame descriptions together, but generally they look more like an AC than a Gundam. Less giant robot samurai. The Federation tend more towards sleek, nonanthropomorphized mecha, while the Centauri are more artsy and flashy and range from almost like a humanoid insect to statue-like humanoids. They never look like, say, a Transformer, with a human face and all, but yeah.
Gotcha.

Got the approval from Hydrall, it's likely both side will even out pretty quickly but I couldn't resist playing a Fed and a Cent. Ladies and gentlemen, I don't think this next pilot will be much of a stranger to all of you.
