Let me just say, I love the branding for Checkered Past. That chill, late-night, ever so slightly eerie Adult Swim branding vibe, with Cartoon Network characters.
Also, I think the way this will work is that the first hour of Checkered Past is Cartoon Network, and then for the rest, it's Adult Swim.
On Instagram, it's possible to do collaborative posts, which is where two accounts can both have their name on a post. The Checkered Past post is a collaborative post between Cartoon Network and Adult Swim, and the two accounts pretty much never acknowledge each other, so it looks to me that it's a shared block.
"Don't cry because it's over, cry because it happened."Craig McCracken posted photos from an unofficial goodbye to the CN building conducted by old friends and colleagues.
Really bittersweet moment.
According to MC Chris, George Lowe (voice of Space Ghost) has been having some health problems as of late. He's still alive, but "we came close to losing him". He currently has a nurse looking after him at his home in Florida.
Oh, god. Hope he'll be okay.
I met George Lowe at a con a while back. He was, in one word, funny - constantly joking, never went a sentence without saying something that didn't make you at least crack a smile... and capable of a pretty wicked sense of humor as well.
I gave him a picture of all the Space Ghost characters to autograph. He wrote something hilariously disgusting under Zorak and then said: "Clay [Croker]'s not with us anymore, but if he was here, he'd write the same thing under Space Ghost!"
What a lovable guy he was. I hope he'll be all right in the end as well.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Cartoon Network and WB Animation staff have filed to unionize.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."all the workers need the unions at this point because its obvious the big business they work under just cant be trusted
New theme music also a boxSo embarrassingly I created one of two work pages for this show. I reported it to ask the tropers and messaged the other troper. I’m just waiting on judgement for which page stays and which goes.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Over the Garden Wall is being taken off Max on August 31st. Creator Patrick McHale has tweeted about it, he's not as concerned about it but he's very concerned about what it'd mean for less popular media.
At least it'll apparently still be on Hulu, so it's not being completely buried. That said, as ever, fuck David Zaslav. I hope this strike ends up ruining his career so we can put an end to this mania.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonI'm glad to hear that.

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.thats like,a super long think pierce I gotta say
curse my limited attention span!
New theme music also a boxeven if it's not seen that much I don't see the point in taking out media from your streaming service that belongs to you and costs you nothing to maintain there
It's because then Zaslav has to pay residuals to the actors and writers, and even though it's literally impossible to lose money on a percentage-based system like that, that gets in the way of buying himself his twelfth yacht this week.
Also, I think he just flat-out hates the stuff he's removing. After all, they're just dumb cartoons and not true artistry like MILF Mansion and My 600-lb Life.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks Marathon(x3) To sum it up, the author feels like Cartoon Network's identity has been hurt hard by both AT&T and Discovery, as neither fully understand what to do with the brand. AT&T's idea was a full pivot into all sorts of kids/family programming by throwing everything at the wall: we'd have preschool and live-action shows, just like Nick and Disney Channel! Which the author found weird, but felt it could possibly have worked over time.
But AT&T of course gave up, and sold everything to Discovery, where the new management doesn't get not only programming aimed at that kids/families, but also just have a clue about the value of this "animation" thing, and so the studio's days became numbered and what leadership remains for the CN/[as] side of things is just desperately trying to keep what they can afloat in the midst of those higher up on the chain getting rid of everything across the board. Even if that means all they can really do is focus on making sure animation in general still has a place at WBD, even if they can't keep the CN brand as alive as they want.
They additionally highlight that pretty much everything that's being produced under the CNS label right now is stuff that was greenlight pre-Zaslav, which... yeah, that's a little terrifying.
I am praying for stuff to get renewed or greenlit.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.
Could be a typo, but today's [as] tweet promoting the upcoming Checkered Past block states it'll start at 5pm instead of 6pm.
