This is a world of majesty, exploration and adventure!

Well, mostly.

This is a High Fantasy setting I’ve been working on for a little while with help from quite a few people. Now, it will take life as an RP here on TV Tropes! The story of the RP is fairly simple. There are food shortages, the land is dying, people are asking the question: Where did the Elementals go?

Elementals are spirits, fragments of the Earth that allow things to exist. People, as in the other races, are made up of Fragments of Elementals. That’s what allows them to live. Think of them as magical ATOMS/MOLECULES!

However, pure Elementals (Water Elementals, Fire elementals, etc.) stopped being born. No one knows why, exactly, but the long term effects of the stillbirth have affected the land known as Ethona. The different countries in the region are dealing with the affects in different ways. The so called ‘pirate culture’ has returned in the past fifty years in the ensuing chaos since people are really having a terrible time making any kind of living. Why live in one place? Why not make the ocean your home? Why not explore, HAVE ADVENTURE?

That’s where you come in.

A crew is already assembled! ADVENTURES AWAIT.

Oh right, primary story. A bunch of adventurers get together to find a treasure that could cure what’s been called the “Fragment Drought”. There WILL be more along the way so people aren’t left wondering the ‘hell to do.

Now a little bit of background on the country that your characters will likely be from. It's a place named Ordea that's well known for having crazy, extreme weather (Tremendously hot summer, terribly cold winters, etc.) Beyond that, there's nothing else known so I'm going to have you guys come up with what the country is all about. Alright, down to the races!

THE WORLD OF AETHER CROSS! ALRIGHT GUYS, here's information if you want to look more into the continent of Euraia and Ethona.

  • The Northern Continent of Euraia
  • The Southern Continent of Ethona
    • Map: Ethona
    • Information on Countries: Information (Note that Ethona is not completed. If you want to contribute to the world building like you did in the thread about Ordea, put a comment on the side and it will be added!)
  • COMPLETE MAP: MAP

RACES

Humans

  • Lifespan: 50-70 Years
  • Strengths: Maximum thinking ability, body meant to survive even in harsh conditions, can utilize tools, capacity to work together as a team, use both magic and weapons, better reign on their emotions than other races.
  • Weaknesses: Knowledge and use of magic is small as humans prefer technology over the fantastical, maximum strength/endurance of body can put out compared to other races without support (Magic, runic incantations, etc.)
  • Habitat: Anywhere that can sustain life.
  • Appearance:You should probably know what a human looks like.

Elves
  • Lifespan: 250-310 years
  • Strength: Adept at art of magic (what would take a human a month to learn an elf can learn in three days.), thirst for knowledge (elves absorb information and learn faster than any human), 'natural' affinity with nature. Can communicate with nature and animals itself.
  • Weaknesses: Due to being disassociated with the world, elves have trouble fitting into human society, even though Elves are capable of surviving in the woods, an elf's body is more 'brittle' and susceptible to injury than a humans.
  • Appearance: Pointy ears and all
  • Habitat: Mostly forests and unpopulated livable areas out of the way of human society.

Beastkin
  • Lifespan: 30-40 years (generalization sense there are different types)
  • Strengths: Ability to transform into a more animalistic form, stronger bodies than humans (run at higher speeds, exert more physical strength), capable of flight and breathing underwater depending on the breed of Beastkin.
  • Weaknesses: Living as a specific type of Beastkin limits the enviroment where they can live (Water Beastkin live in water so it'd be hard to live outside of it), more susceptible to disease due to weakened immune system, can be irrational due to heightened emotions, flippant and mercurial. Unamibitious (they know of human achievements and how to use them, but they don't utilize them due to their more 'tribal' structure).
    • SPECIAL NOTE: Beastkin in Ethona are more integrated into human society than those in the northern continent of Euraia.
  • Appearance: A female Beastkin with more 'human' traits than beast, Male Beastkin with more 'beastial' traits
  • Habitat: Oceans, forests, meadows, human settlements.

Demons
  • Lifespan: 110-150 (varies depending on the kind of demon
  • Strengths: Affinity for the magical arts (no more ability to learn them than humans), physical bodies allow more adept fighting techniques because of heightened strength, endurance and senses.
  • Weaknesses: Their prime weakness is their need to feast on blood. The more blood they feast on and people they kill, the stronger they become. There are ‘urges’ that sometimes come up. Demons with morality will see this as a curse that separates them from their sapient brethren. Others... will revel in the impulse, killing anyone they can to become stronger. The more people they devour, the more monstrous they become, Unholy origins make them weak to sacraments of the church and holy-attributed to tools and weapons.
  • Appearance: No definite appearance. Can appear human or monstrous.
  • Habitat: Human cities and settlements, places isolated from the human world.

Dracovin
  • Lifespan: 1000s of years/Immortal
  • Strengths: Dracovin possess the ability to transform into their Dragon forms., Inhuman drive and determination that allows them to overcome difficult obstacles, Have incredibly high-resistance to magic.
  • Weaknesses:Their childish behaviour brought on by their own ‘self’ alienates them from making friends or melding back into society. Cannot utilize spells due to their extremely high resistance to magic from the outside so it can’t ‘flow’ well into their bodies for use.
  • Appearance: Something like this
  • Habitat: Most full-blooded Dracovin live in this world's equivalent of the North Pole named the Lost Lands. Outside of there, the odds of running into a full-blood are remarkably slim. A half-blood, though, you'll have more luck with.

Orcs
  • Lifespan: 40-60
  • Strengths: Massive physical strength, resilience against the elements and against all kinds of pain.
  • Weaknesses: Often very stupid, cannot work together and instead attack their own kind, only work in small tribes and this only works if there is some kind of charismatic or extremely strong leader.
  • Appearance:Mean and green
  • Habitat: Nomads/ find whatever place can sustain them.

Elemental
  • Lifespan: n/a
  • Strengths:Absolute control over their respective element, gain more power from faith and have the ability to loan other people their powers.
  • Weaknesses: Susceptible with elemental weaknesses and grow weaker the less faith they have.
  • Appearance: Can appear human, can appear animal-esque, emobody their element.
  • Habitat: Gather wherever the Elementals specific affinity is (Earth elementals will hang out in valleys, Water elementals are found in bodies of water, etc.)

Dwarves
  • Lifespan: 120-140 years
  • Strengths: Physically strong and resistance to illness. One of the only races with a high resistance to all kinds of magic. Their resistance to magic is only second to the scales of a dragon, a race of engineers that evolves year by year. Their lifestyle completely changes given a decade or so.
  • Weaknesses: Since dwarves value progress and SCIENCE above all else, there is natural hostility from Elementals, Beastkin and Elves, INCREDIBLY stubborn when it comes to just about everything. Good luck trying to change the opinion of a dwarf or getting them to do something they don't want to.
  • Appearance: Dwarf is gonna dwarf
  • Habitat: Caves, mountains, leveled forests.

Sylph
  • Lifespan: 180 - 200 years
  • Strengths: Without a doubt the fastest race when it comes to the air, even passing the flight speed for powerful dragons, Sylph have natural immunity to magic but only low-level spells, can survive with little air due to the elevations they live at.
  • Weaknesses: A race that has harvested a hatred for Beastkin, Humans and Dwarves due to the 'filth' of the Earth below them.
    • Once a wing is broken from a Sylph, the only way it can be repaired is with high level magic. If you're without that magic, you're screwed.
  • Appearance: Winged humanoids!
  • Habitat: High mountains and floating cities.

THE ELEMENTS IN THE WORLD OF AETHER CROSS
  • Fire: The warmth that allows all things to live. Used in some healing magic but is primarily offensive.
  • Earth: The grass that sprouts from the earth. Primarily used in medicine, healing magic and defensive spells.
  • Wind: The cooling wind on a hot summer day. Used in offensive spells, defensive spells and buffing/debuffing.
  • Water: Where everything in life has originated. Best use in healing magic though it CAN be offensive.
  • Ice: The lock to the past. Used to preserve food and goods. More offensive.
  • Lightning: The surprise from the sky. Can be used to resurrect the recently deceased, primarily offensive.
  • Dark: The thief in the night. Used to steal away 'Light' element fragments to put others in perpetual darkness. Also is put under the umbrella of 'curses' and 'dread'.
  • Light: Light that guides all. Depends on the production of Light element fragments to be of any use. Can create lights for traveling, signal flares and the like. Also is put under the umbrella of 'miracles' and 'holy magic'.
  • Void: The stillborn prison of eternity. An element that embodies 'stagnation' in the strongest sense of the word. Halts evolution, change and everything around it.
  • Aether: The will to keep living on despite no hope. This can be referred to as 'ki/chi' or 'spirit energy' in the body. It is the primary driving force of the world of Aether Cross. Can be utilized in martial arts. It is the foundation in which magic is taught (Aether is basically the lighter that ignites the wood (magic) so that it can be used)

Interest, most likely going for a demon.

Query: Can demons drink animal blood? I'm assuming it won't make them as strong as the blood of a sapient being, or something along those lines, but for demons that live amongst humans and the like it seems like it would be the best alternative to murdering people indiscriminately.

What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?

  • Name: Yuri Heurassien
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 24
  • Race: Human
  • Appearance: Taking a break
  • Weapons:
    • Ebon Blade: A long sword that's a marvel of magic and science. It was forged by a team made up of black smiths and mages. The blade has been given special circuts allowing it to easily take enchantments, and to always be connected to the magical energies that flow through Yuri herself.
    • Daggers:Should the Ebon Blade ever be out of reach Yuri carries several daggers for fending off enemies. Additionally she'll some times wield a dagger in her off hand for parrying.
  • Magic:She is a practicioner of Soul Fist, a style of martial arts that includes projecting your inner Aether as pure force. She's capable of shooting beams of Aether, guarding herself with a barrier, or augmenting her reflexes and durability. She combines this with her sword skills.
  • Personality:Yuri is a very serious person. Almost to the point where she doesn't really allow herself to have a lot of fun. There's always something that needs to be done and she always has to do it. That said she's not entirely a hard ass. She has a soft spot for cats, and cares deeply for those around her.
  • Bio:Yuri the daughter of the Heurassein noble family. She grew up with stories of heroic knights, and while most girls her age dreamed of being rescued by one, she dreamed of being one. Fighting off threats to her home, and making sure everyone was alive and happy. So she demanded she be taught to use a sword at a young age. Her parents allowed it thinking that she'd quit when she got it out of her system. She didn't quit, but instead refused any special treatment and continued with her lessons fervently, until she could best most of the boys around her in a straight up fight. She couldn't be sure if it was her own skill or just that the boys would slack off, she wasn't sure until she over heard some of the other trainee's talking about how they'd be living the good life after becoming knights. This bothered her, and prevented her from making many close friends throughout the rest of her time as a trainee. Eventually she was made a squire, to a knight of the Order of Grimhekala. As she traveled with him she began to truly see how the other side lives. She began to soften up and not blame the boys so much for wanting to escape this life. For the first time in her life Yuri truly started to make friends, as they went from village to village helping those in need. It really helped when they picked up a traveling companion, a cat that grew attached to her. Along the way, she was taught how to use Soul Fist, by the knight. Soon she found herself in love with her master and was ready to give up her dream of becoming knight is favor of being his wife. Unfortunately he died in a duel leaving her lost. Becoming introverted, her only real comfort was the cat left behind from her previous advetures. The knight she was assigned to next treated her harshly and was only truly interested in her as a woman, and chance to increase his standing. But she refused every one of his advances, until he came at her in a bout of rage. She beat some respect into him. Her new master decided that her training was complete and she was inducted into the Order of Grimhekala. Years later she's worked her way up to a position of influence in the Order, holding firmly to her code of chivalry. It wouldn't be long before word of the voyage to find a cure for Fragment Drought reached her, and she'd go to offer what help she can.

  • Name: Ahriya Arath
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 50
  • Race: Elf
  • Appearance: In her general adventuring garb
  • Weapons:
    • Longbow (In picture): Her primary weapon. Generally used to hunt for food, but she is quite adept at it in any quiet circumstances. She finds it difficult to aim in loud or chaotic situations.
    • Dagger: Actually just her general utility knife. Used for preparing food, cutting up herbs, etc. Can be pulled out in a pinch in combat.
    • Longsword: Her Swordspear. Uses it for close range combat or when it's too difficult for her to focus with her bow. While loud noises or a generally chaotic environment disrupt her aim with the bow, she has no such problems with her sword. While not as skilled with it, she is still very proficient with the weapon.
  • Magic: Minimal. Is familiar with healing magic of the Earth and Water elements. Also knows very basic wind and fire magic to keep her cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Can learn any magic given time, but life as a hunter did not require her to learn much magic, so she did not.
  • Personality: Shy. She finds comfort talking to her animal companions in the forest, but has difficulty conversing with other humanoids. Can be wickedly sarcastic to those she dislikes, but is not one to say it in anything louder than a muffled whisper.
  • Bio: Ahriya was born of an average hunting family within the Loftlorn Forest to the west of the largest human city in Ordea. She was raised to be skilled with a bow, and learned to hunt together with her various animal companions including owls, snakes, foxes and bears. Though she had an affinity for forest dwellers, she also learned to converse and to befriend pretty much any animal. Unfortunately, Ahriya lacked experience with intermingling with humans or even other elves as her family lived in a game-rich but distant section of the forest. On Ahriya's 30th birthday, the Elven lord of Loftlorn Forest announced a hunting tournament. Though Ahriya rarely met other elves, let alone hunters, her parents knew how skilled she was and encouraged her to enter the tournament. She handily won, letting her skills be known through the region, much to her own dismay. Twenty years later, the same Lord of Loftlorn wrote her family a letter. "We have need of your daughters skills. There is a group of extraordinary people being assembled for a mission of grave importance. Her assistance would be indispensable to this effort." With their now, close friend, the Lord of Loftlorn asking for help, and realizing that this could be a chance for their now fully grown daughter to perhaps finally socialize outside of her own family, they pushed Ahriya to go on this adventure. Not wanting to disappoint her parents, she agreed.

I've went over the list, and I have an idea for a Orc.

But instead of being dumb, he's actually a scholar and smrt and stuff. Is this okay?

If not I have a back up idea.

  • Name: Serielle Goldenleaf
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 142
  • Race: Elf
  • Appearance: Roughly so though she has an elaborate, magical tattoo made in blue ink which runs all the way down her left arm. The Tattoo on her cheek is likewise on the left instead of right. She does look a bit more mature and tends to wear robes above her dress.
  • Weapons: A magically reinforced staff of wood, with carved runes along the length and with a specially caved gem on the top.
  • Magic: Serielle is an experimented mage, an Universalist that has manipulated all of the elements in her spellcasting. However, her major affinity and what comes easiest to her is the magic of Lightning and Ice. However, her repertoire is quite broad as a dedicated magic user, with a lot of utility spells and an intimate knowledge of magic.
  • Personality: Serielle is a somewhat reserved and scholarly soul, preferring to stand on the outskirts of situations to make comment on them instead of diving straight into the spotlight. However, her natural curiosity and nature as a researcher can overwhelm her natural aloofness to drive her to race and be the first to solve a mystery or understand a new aspect of magic or the world in general. She dislikes mysteries without a resolution and will put her head to cracking whatever it is that puzzles her. In general, she's pleasant and polite to be around, though she keeps some of her opinions on the other races hidden behind her gentle demeanor. She finds humans fascinating though their short lives and sometimes lack of magical knowledge makes her underestimate or pity them a bit, she finds dracovin too mercurial and childish, not to mention dangerous with their overwhelming power coupled with high magical defenses and irresponsible attitudes. Dwarves she finds just too frustrating to deal with, so she tends to avoid them and their anti magical attitudes and stubborn, blunt manners. A certain disdain for orcs needs not be explained as is an initial, guarded nature towards demons. Sylphs, she respects and elementals she finds incredibly interesting. However, these are just broad attitudes towards races that she can dispel once she gets to know the individuals better.
  • Bio: Born of the Goldenleaf hunting clan, Serielle is a bit of an odd duck with her frail, quiet disposition in contrast with her more physical family made up of renowned rangers and explorers of the wild. However, her keen mind and natural aptitude for magic were clearly recognized by her village elder, which prompted her to move to the Capital to further her education. From the noble born children she received difficulties due to her wilder upbringing, however her mastery of magic and scholarly topics soon shut up those who called her the 'Witch of the Goldenleaf' She spent a handful of decades in the capital, making a name for herself and living a metropolitan life. However, seeing her opportunities for study dwindling Serielle was surprised to find herself craving the road and new locales. Despite being the most scholarly of her family, she still had more than a bit of her clan's wanderlust in her veins. She spent a few seasons in a big human city, studying their theories and ways of magic before doing a bit of a pilgrimage around the known world, doing her own individual research. Eventually, she settled back in her home village, creating her own tower and starting to instruct a new generation of elves. At some point, she found her twin brother and pride of the clan to be defeated and completely humiliated by an unknown elven girl in a hunting tournament by Elven lord of Loftlorn Forest. This proved to be a good opportunity to tease the man in payback for losing to him so much in their games during youth. However, on more serious matters, Serielle has been studying for a long time the seeming decay of the world and finding news of the 'Fragment Drought' she signed up on a ship to try and find the fabled thing.

  • Name: Marilyn H Pentecost
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 46
  • Race: Dwarf
  • Appearance: The one on the left
  • Weapons: A custom built Automatic Crossbow with large cylindrical cartridges of twenty bolts each, with the bolts having diverse properties based on what they are made of. She can also fight with a self made sword and a sturdy shield. However, Marilyn's greatest asset are the inventions she can create to deal with a given situation. The more time she has to prepare and build something, the greater her efficiency in battle or dealing with a problem. As a dwarf she's a lot sturdier and stronger than she looks, giving her the ability to carry quite some loads on a specially made backpack. On it, she keeps the necessary tools and some basic materials for crafting on the spot, though on the ship she'll keep a more proper alchemical laboratory and workshop with more plentiful materials.
  • Magic: No magic whatsoever besides the carving of magical runes upon instruments to imbue them with certain properties, however an ability similar to magic she dabbles in is the alchemical processes that bring about the materials and chemicals Dwarves use in their products. Marilyn can work quite a variety of strong metals and alloys, as well as produce fabled chemical products with explosive or corrosive properties. She also dabbles in making potions for a variety of effects as well as brewing alcohol.
  • Personality: Marilyn is the very stereotype of a dwarf. Stubborn, a mechanical genius and brilliant engineer, sips beer like it is a delicate tea and will never back away from her convictions. More than anything, she's a practical and straight forward person, deadly honest and who always looks for the single most direct solution to a problem instead of wandering around the options. She's the kind of person who knows very little of diplomacy and dislikes two faced people or those who hide behind pretty intentions. However, her natural good feelings and her honest nature make it so that her remarks tend to lack an edge unless she's truly upset. As for other races, she appreciates the humans love of technology and is quite glad to converse on Engineering topics with them. She gives up on speaking with an orc with anything deeper than the taste of alcohol or rules for arm wrestling. Dracovin she sees with wary eyes due to their sheer destructive potential as she is a creator. Demon's she pretty suspicious of and tends to be guarded around them. Beastkin she finds woefully primitive and willfully ignorant, Sylphs she rolls her eyes at. She finds elementals intriguing for their sheer connection to the world and their making up of it. Elves she tends to dislike even more than Sylph or Beastkin given their contrast in ways of thinking. Even though they both tend to be learned races and seekers of knowledge, their approaches to it are so opposed that trying to reconcile them would be a headache.
  • Bio: Marilyn was born to the Pentecost clan, deep under the mountains in one of the capitals of the Dwarven states, the city of Glimhearth. Born to a respected family of craftsmen and mechanics, she was the sole inheritor of the clan's workshop. She received most of her education right at home, working tools before she could even walk. Practical experience was aplenty as her father and uncles had her work since an early age, teaching her the fundamentals of science and mechanics as she went along. It didn't take too much for her to become a noteworthy inventor once she reached her womanhood, stepping out of the role of apprentice, building her own workshop attached to the greater one of her family and then making a name of herself once orders started to pour in. Her pride to this day remains the work she did designing and creating a bridge for the transport of heavy materials from deep underground, commissioned by the very King of Glimhearth to her. Given her workload and deep family ties, Marilyn has not ventured too much out of her underground city... however, she has stepped out on a few missions to the surface for trade or recognizance of new mining locales. In these, she has had short encounters with most of the races of the world, which colored her perceptions of them a little bit. However, despite such views, she ventured outside on her own and with the blessing of her family and King once the potential downfall of the missing elementals has become obvious. With the world losing its power, the land dying, materials losing their effectiveness and food shortages, it becomes necessary to determine the source of the problem and fix it. And who better than the prodigy child of Glimhearth to do the initial recognizance? Thus armed with a fair bit of coin, materials, tools and weapons crafted just for the occasion, she set out into the world and eventually into a ship to investigate the 'Fragment of Drought'

  • Name: Hawkeye Ridge
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 48
  • Race: Human
  • Appearance: A broad shouldered man standing 6' tall, muscular and tough. His body's seen some wear over the years, skin a nice tan from many outdoor excursions, but Hawkeye's still standing strong. Wears a brown long coat over a white undershirt, dark brown canvas pants, and a thick pair of boots. Dark, medium length hair and brown eyes. Clean shaven, though looking to grow out a beard.
  • Weapons:
    • Rapier: Just a standard rapier for fighting folks at close range. Hawkeye's skills at the blade have dulled a bit, but he is still a fine swordsman.
    • Flintlock Pistols (6): For when he just wants to end things quickly. Wears a strap of them over his shoulder under his coat. Reload time's abysmal and they're all single shot, hence the duplicates. In the market for an enchanted pistol that doesn't need ammo.
  • Magic: Knows a bit of ki magic to help enhance his movement and strength in close quarters combat, but his primary focus as of late is void magic. With it, he is able to pull out different parts of his ship and use them for all sorts of purposes: cannons, rigging, anchor, trap doors, captain's wheel, masts, even barrels and cannonballs. However, he cannot pull out the whole ship all at once and the parts eventually return to the void, back to their original condition.
  • Personality: Hawkeye is a loud and boisterous man who makes friends quickly and loves sharing in conversation with others, especially in tales of far off journeys to strange lands. He loves to indulge in sharing stories of his own travels and can come off as a little self-centered in that regard, but he shows genuine affection to those he likes and will fight to the death to protect them. Adventurous and a little brash.
  • Bio: Sailing the seas for over twenty years before disappearing for four, Ex-Captain Hawkeye Ridge has lived an adventurous life. Not much is known about his childhood, save that he came from further inland and seems to be estranged from his family. However as an adult, Hawkeye has traveled wherever the seas and sails would take him, climbing up from lowly sailor to being the captain of the great Cavalry Wind. For two decades, the Cavalry Wind and its crew fought pirates, sea monsters, corruption, and everything inbetween while sailing to lands unknown, being known as both renegades and heroes. However, that ended when the ship confronted a whirlpool. While a normal whirlpool would be no problem, this one had a mind of its own - a rampaging Void elemental situated in the center. His ship and most his crew sent into the Nothing, with the rest drowned, the Captain barely managed to get out with his life, drifting for days on a plank of wood before washing up ashore. After a few days of rest, Hawkeye set out into the mainland to discover all he could about Void magic, to see if there was some way to recover what he had lost, his men most of all. Now, four years later, he's returned to the docks to join the newly assembled crew. With a journal of his old journeys and a compass pointing somewhere towards the sea, Hawkeye intends to find the creature who slew his entire crew.

  • Name: Zerazul
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 40
  • Race: Demon
  • Appearance: Nice and toasty. Also, that mouth is full of jagged teeth. He wears fireproof black pants and usually covers himself with a similarly fireproof black cloak.
  • Weapons: Has claws, elbow spines, prehensile tail, and teeth. All of them are as sharp as daggers, and they all grow back within a day if broken.
  • Magic: Can cloak his body in fire, useful for burning foes and keeping himself warm, and can throw fireballs for when he needs some range. Can also light other objects on fire by touching them.
  • Personality: Zerazul despises those who who look down upon others, and those who pick fights with the weak or innocent. He will fight to defend even complete strangers from their torturers and request nothing in return. He is especially protective of children, of any species. He enjoys seeing people smile, and tries to be friendly and honest so as not to frighten anyone. He drinks animal blood to suppress his demonic urges, though he will occasionally bite into a bandit if they become too strong. Zerazul would sooner die than feast upon an innocent.
  • Bio: Shortly after his birth, his parents were slain by a group of paranoid humans from a nearby town. The humans brought the infant Zerazul to their town square to kill him, but upon hearing him cry as any human child would, took pity on him. He was adopted by the local schoolteacher, and raised like all the other children his age. Most kids would avoid him in fear, until one day when the adults began to yell and usher the children inside. A group of bandits attacked the small village, and the few residents competent enough to swing a sword mounted a weak defense. Spurred to action, Zerazul joined the fray, and killed several men before the day was done. The bandits fled in fear of him, but the townspeople rejoiced, and he had earned grudging respect from his peers. Years passed, and he left his hometown to see the world, with a final parting gift of a scroll of demon fire magic. A scroll that had been taken from the father he never knew. For two decades he's traveled around Ordea, teaching himself fire magic and how to fight claw-to-hand. Wherever he goes, he tries to do at least one good deed - usually stopping a criminal or two. For this reason, many know him as the Blaze of Justice. One day he overheard rumor of a treasure that could help the world by ending the "Fragment Drought," and decided that if it worked he should and would do all in his power to find that treasure.

  • @Yuri Heurassien: Accepted.
  • @Lior Val: Magitech exists in the world, yes, but the people who can actually 'make it' are long gone. There are people who do their best to understand how it works, but there's no one today that can replicate their achievements. These ruins are primarily in use by the Sylph and, by extension, Sylph are the only ones who can actually study the structures and tech since they live there. These ruins are located in Euraia, the northern Continent. If you want to make a character from up there, shoot me a Pm and I'll tell you any details you need to know.
  • @Ahriya Arath: Accepted.
  • @Serielle & Marilyn: Accepted.
  • @Hawkeye Ridge: Accepted.
  • @Zerazul: Accepted.
  • @Trip: Depends on how you pull it off. Make a sheet and I'll look at it.
  • @Immortal Neet: Make a sheet, NEET!

  • Name: Lucerna Understream
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: Mid-150s
  • Race: Elf
  • Appearance: Like so; though her hair sometimes succeeds in keeping her pointed ears from view, her pale coloring and finely-set features tend to give her away. Still, in a sturdy leather jerkin and durable traveler's coat, and with her sword and shield, she cuts an intimidating figure.
  • Weapons: Lucerna carries an elven-made broadsword and a shield embossed with an ascendant eagle in silver. Skilled with both, she uses a fairly aggressive, footwork-heavy fighting style that utilizes her shield in strikes as well as her sword.
  • Magic: Wind, mostly used to buff her speed and reduce the wind resistance of her armaments.
  • Personality: Lucerna is a fairly experienced and worldly person, having traveled a lot of the continent of Ordea in the service of her mistress. She's not easy to rattle, and has a dry sense of humor that makes her seem a bit less high-strung than some of her kin. Her loyalty to her mistress is absolute, and she considers herself an extension of Aewyn's will before a crewmember.
  • Bio: Born deep in the Elven lands to the itinerant traders of the Understream family, Lucerna spent a great deal of time in the wilds between cities and around towns. She learned early how wide and wondrous the world is, and how big, as well; as soon as she was old enough, her mother and older brothers began to teach her in swordsmanship, to help protect the caravans against bandits, beasts, and anyone else who would seek to steal from the fat wagons. While helping to protect her family and see the Great Woods was a great life, teaching her both how to handle a blade and handle herself, it was ultimately too limiting for the wanderlust the open road kindled inside her, and with the blessing of her parents and her older brothers' treasured sword and shield, she set out to seek her fortune. For the most part, she found it as a sellsword, protecting caravans much like her parents'; she also did short stints in border militias, but found it too static a life for her. After several decades of adventuring around the continent, she met Aewyn in a grubby tavern in the south, and pledged her sword and her life to her after a series of incidents.

—-

  • Name: Aewyn of the Green
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 27
  • Race: Human
  • Appearance: In her traveling cloak. Aewyn's hair usually falls over her right eye, and though she finds this annoying, she doesn't bother cutting it until her bangs reach her chin. Under her cloak she wears fairly durable and easy-to-move-in robes. She has a small white patch of scar tissue just above her clavicle.
  • Weapons: Aewyn carries a curved dagger on her right hip, but she rarely uses it.
  • Magic: Fire. Aewyn's greatest strengths lie in her offensive castings, which she uses to great and terrifying effect. Her specialty involves a minor tweak to her magic to make the flames appear a bright, spectral green, earning her her nickname and a fair amount of notoriety that helps protect her just as surely as her spells do.
  • Personality: Steadfast and headstrong, Aewyn relies on her quick wits and powerful magic to carry her through the problems that her attitude can sometimes cause. She's a firm believer in shock and awe and believes that making examples is the best way to keep bad things from happening to oneself, and tends not to trust anyone unless they've proven themselves to her multiple times.
  • Bio: A native of Ordea, Aewyn doesn't remember much about her early life aside from learning magic from a kind old man who lived in the house next to hers as she was growing up. During a raid on her village by a local bandit warlord shortly after her fifteenth birthday, both she and her teacher were kidnapped by raiders and taken to the warlord's hideout, where they were forced to demonstrate their abilities for him and prove themselves suitable battlemages for his clan. Three days after the attack, Aewyn made it back to the village, injured and alone, with a fresh, poorly-healed wound in her throat. Since then, her voice has been faint at best; she can strain to be heard at near-normal volume, but it hurts her throat. Generally, to get long sentences across or to be heard from far away, she has to ask Lucerna to relay her message for her, which frustrates her sometimes. She met Lucerna in a tavern in the south of Ordea; when her headstrong attitude met and reacted badly with the pride of the pirate captain who owned the town, it was only thanks to the combined efforts of knight and mage that the two survived at all. The experience forged them into inseparable traveling companions.

  • Name: Ron Blythe
  • Gender: M
  • Age: 32
  • Race: Human
  • Appearance: A fine Prize, to be sure!
  • Weapons:
    • Musket w/Bayonet (1)
    • Flintlock Pistol (4)
      • The Man is so used to firing whilst drunk that is has almost no Effect on his shooting.
    • Pirate's Scimitar (2)
    • Shiv (2)
  • Magic: Blythe doesn't technically use magic. However, due to his unique brand of stubbornness and refusal to let an outside Circumstance change his Course, his Aether is a very strong Force. The Man has also almost grown an Immunity to being drunk.
  • Personality: Blythe is everything you would expect of a Pirate - brash, arrogant, usually very drunk and a friend to his Crew like no other. He lives by a single Word - Freedom. His Path is his own and once his Course is set, there can be no changing of it by anyone but himself.
  • Bio: The ongoing war in Erealoth is ripe for pirates. Well, the right kind of pirates, the smart ones anyway. Blythe spent his last fifteen Years as a Crewman onboard the Mutinous Raid and later as her Quartermaster. She would pick up damaged Ships from the sea Battles, force them to surrender and take all of Value on board. It was a grand way of living, the Prizes taken from warships tending to fetch a high Price. Last year, the Mutinous Raid lived up to it's Name far better than expected. There was Mutiny on board, and both the Captain and Blythe were marooned. Blythe managed to escape and from the Moment he was on Shore, already thinking of finding a new Prize and becoming a man of Wealth again.

These days there are too many women in R Ps/everything else that are just skin and bones. TIME TO REMEDY THAT

Name: Morganna Verbrauchen

Gender: Female

Age: 38 (looks a wee bit younger, about 26

Race: Demon

Appearance: Short, about 5'5 with itty-bitty (non-functioning) bat wings. Wears a dress, going down to the knees, with frills. Is also QUITE overweight, about 210 lbs. Not-too-long blonde hair, with two stubby horns. Also possesses a stereotypical pointy tail.

Weapons: *A flaming sword zweihander

  • A flintlock, for those emergency moments
  • She also ALWAYS has a bottle of some sort, which could probably cause some damage in super emergencies.

Magic: She's capable of producing fire walls, cloaks, and eruptions all around. She's also capable of fireballs, but those are boring.

Personality: A hard drinking, hard partying, constantly eating loon of a demon. She hates inactivity, and despises the more "rational" beings around her. Her appetite has, unfortunately, done a number on her body. She also likes fire. A lot. Typically, parties aren't parties until something was incinerated. She has few morals, typically not batting an eye at the death of thousands, and doesn't find anything wrong with outright devouring people.

Bio: Morganna... was a strange demon. An utter glutton, with an insatiable thirst for alcohol alongside the normal bloodlust, and a party-hog at that. She doesn't have a set home, though she originates from Erealoth. She tends to wander around, injecting herself into parties- whether the other guys like it or not. Oddly enough, her hard rocking nature actually provides a unique way of satiating her bloodlust. You see, people tend to either get trampled or shanked at those REALLY large ones. So, she sort of scavenges after the buzz of the party. Once she recovers from the hangover, of course. So why did she decide to become a pirate? Well, I'll give you a hint. Rum. Rum and the P-Word. Her parents are still very much alive, though they are not very fond of how their daughter was born. At all.

This is so terribu I'm sorry.

Also, if this isn't sufficient, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know what I can do to fix this. Heck, even if this IS accepted, TELL ME THINGS TO IMPROVE ON

Edited as requested.

Thinking of adding another character, just to get some more diversity in the cast. Maybe include an annoying Dragon character or something.
