[up][up] Believe it or not, that was the origin of the original Amazon named Artemis (not to be confused with the more well known redhead one).

Oh thats cool.

They should bring that concept back. We do need more major WW villains and a rogue Amazon is a simple but very workable idea especially since people do love evil counterparts.

Plus I really love the theme of the normally disciplined and controlled Amazon's, there are some who wishes to cast off their inhabitations and wind up falling into degeneracy due to getting drunk on the worst excesses of the freedom not found in Themyscira.

Ooooh I just thought of a mercenary group comprised of rogue Amazon's that be really fun.

What's stopping an Amazon from getting drunk, high, or having a lot of sex on Themyscira? I mean, they're a disciplined society, but no society can police it's people all the time. I'm sure an Amazon could find willing partners and opportunity for excess right at home.

I recall that back in the early 2000s, during Joe Kelly's run on Justice League (I think it was Joe Kelly) he introduced a Justice League-type group from ancient times (Manitou Raven, if you remember him, was from this group). One of the members was a woman from a Proud Warrior Race where, apparently, both men and women could be warriors, and she completely disrespected the Amazons for being gender-specific.

Its about someone wanting something new after spending centuries on Themyscira.

Like its a pretty small island, population is a couple hundred at most, and the culture seems to be in a bit of stasis. So I can imagine some Amazon's prolly feel that immortality exhaustion where the sameness of life across hundreds of years prolly makes them crave something different and exciting.

Okay Dark Knights of Steel issue 3 and this is already a slaughter fest.

Already Jor-El, the entire Metal Men, and King Black Lightning have been butchered the latter 2 by a psychopathic Supergirl.

Dude Taylor I know Martin butchered his characters but it was a steady thing, even took a while before killing his first king.

How has Justice League Incarnate been? As I've noted before I was really looking forward to Multiversity Too, and with Morrison's retirement it seems likely that this is its replacement, or as close as we'll get anyway.

I've been having fun with it although ymmv. its mostly the one true Darkseid taking down other cosmic threats who are also chasing the GREAT DARKNESS. Today's issue has him pretend to be Daryl Saxman a dc editor on earth-33 who told doctor nultiverse and president superman that they had to let Darkseid win in the comic they were making

Darksied is also responsible for recreating the multiverse in today's climax of Justice League Infinity, by Bequeathing his beloved Diana with the life equation, which he could not use because his own soul was damaged. Bruce uses some of his life energy to help Di out. At the end, Wonderbat prevails as Bruce and Diana share a hug and a laugh, and are seen holding hands at the celebratory after-party, meanwhile, in a bit of closure I've been keenly waiting on since the end of JLU, Vixen confronts John over his feelings for Shay and dumps him. Shay offers John some cake to cheer him up. They're not quite back together right away, but John's not pushing her aside as a friend either

From what I hear the Infinite Frontier/Justice League Incarnate series is pretty good so thats great and they get delightfully meta.

On another series ask, has anyone read Justice League Odyssey? Its written by Dan Abnett, is a cosmic focused series, and Jessica Cruz is basically the main character.

I saw videos on it, but I didn't see much in the way of updates since Jessica's party became gods and turned on her

Well the series is over since it was apart of Snyder's JL era and thus reached its cap during the Death Metal grand finale.

From what I hear of it my main issue is that it starts out with a pretty fantastic roster, Jessica Cruz, Starfire, Cyborg, Azrael, but early in the latter 3 are taken out of play leaving it to become the Jessica Cruz show.

Well thats a shame, I was really looking forward to that. Hopefully someone else picks it up.

Also wait is Black Manta's murder of Aquman and Mera's first child still canon?

Well then it's rather scary to see him in the same image as Andy admitably.

Wonder if Jackson knows his dear old papa is also a baby killer.

I think everything is canon means that it might not have physically happened but the characters remember it.

I mean, I think it works. DC has such a long and vast history with so many different reboots that trying to keep track of it is an exercise in futility. Sticking to Broad Strokes makes it easier for new readers to jump in and for the creative team to tell the stories they want to tell, without pissing off the fans. Doctor Who has a similar approach and you don't see people complaining.

I hope they make mention of it.

Its a pretty major thing Manta did, as bad as Joker killing Jason or crippling Barbara.

Just asked this in the Young Justice thread before realizing that this is probably a better place for it:

I've only seen Vandal Savage's animated versions: If I wanted to get an idea of what the comic version of Vandal is like what would be some good stories? I think I got JLA: Classified 10-13 from the YJ thread, and I think DC One Million is another one?

[up]If you want more Vandal, check out the Ray book from the 90's. He's a major player, helping Ray and taking him under his wing. He's a bastard through and through, but he does care for Ray, and gets to show off his more noble qualities.

[up]Will do, thanks! Is that Christopher Priest’s mini? I liked his runs on Black Panther and Deathstroke a lot so I’ve been meaning to check out his other work.

[up]Not quite. After the mini, he got an ongoing series, but Vandal didn't show up until then. It's pretty good, but the book got canned after a few years and Priest had to wrap things up in a jiffy.

Take a deep breath, guys. Because Bendis' Justice League vs. the Legion of Super-Heroes #1 is dropping tomorrow and we have a preview.

After beating up a giant monster, something happens and one of the Triplicate Girls gets yeeted out of nowhere.

Oh, and I guess we can call JL vs LOSH Bendis's grand finale to his JL run because that's what they call it in the article.
