I'm really glad Priest is sticking around for Deathstroke — his stuff is always super-entertaining and always has a sense of humor to it.
I understand Damian's thinking but his prison was little more then a Medieval Russian Gulag
Of course Slade's not gonna stay dead... the point is Slade is out of the picture
also Priest really likes Raptor from Nightwing... He keeps showing up in the book... He was even at the funeral
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!I have read that sales for Hi C were lower than what they expected. And the company trotted out two miniseries to address/fix what went down in the series. Also? Brett Booth, artist for Flash Forward, is a Wally stan who apparently disliked Hi C to the nth degree.
Also? At an SDCC panel, Didio apparently said, "I'm not sure what the business is about anymore." And he's been complaining that reprints of old issues outsell new stories. Oof. Maybe he's ready to retire.
... Now he does sound like the old man yelling at the kids to get off his lawn
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!Well, maybe if you bought out stuff people wanted to read, at a price point people would pay for, the audience would come back.
Let’s avoid playing the blame game and going “It’s X fault!” Who is your audience?
What does your audience want to see?
What is the easiest way to get your material to your audience?
Here is a suggestion: publish more stories by characters who are NOT Batman, Joker, or Harley Quinn.
I don’t think Joker’s getting as shilled as much as Bats & Harley’s.
The latter 2 are the ones getting Wolverine Publicity.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."At an SDCC panel, Didio apparently said, "I'm not sure what the business is about anymore." And he's been complaining that reprints of old issues outsell new stories
Did this actually happen?
"We should be focused on moving things forward, always pushing the boundaries and finding new stories to tell. That’s how we’ll survive and grow this industry."
In one of his recent videos (the Cassandra Cain restrospective), Linkara pointed out that neither Marvel nor DC actually know how to sell their books. Their YouTube pages are a mess, they put out dozens of books, but it's hard to figure out where to start reading if your new, and it costs five dollars for twenty pages of content these days, which is ridiculous. On his twitter, he pointed out that they should look towards how manga is marketed — in books with, essentially, easy to see beginnings and often middles and ends, too.

Well dang.
I'm somehow who eats up all those classic comics so I'm not complaining. Bring on the retro reprints I say.
No wonder the manga industry is making all the money in graphic novel sales.
I see the lists of like top 20 monthly graphic novel sales & it’s near completely dominated by manga. My Hero Academia specially, that series regularly takes up around 10 spots & that includes both the main series & the spin-off.
Fucking Hell Marvel/DC.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I’ve mentioned it before but it bears repeating that the same month Endgame came out, THE highest grossing film of all time, based on characters and stories from across decades of the House of Ideas’ output, the one comic to see an increase that month...was volumes of My Hero Academia.
The audience should be starving for content after Endgame, seeing the further adventures of these characters, but what was out there did not appeal to the audience in the least, and instead turned to Deku and Class 1-A for their superhero stories.
Somewhere the message got completely lost.
Marvel at least uses the movies to gin up interest in characters. Killmonger and Shuri got series following the success of the Black Panther movie. That is one example. DC, meanwhile, did little to capitalize on the success of their CW shows, and the Shazam comic keeps being delayed even though the film did well.
Oh, Endgame did finally unseat Avatar? Cool.
Avatar isn't very good.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."x2 I don’t know? I’m pretty sure they have with the Green Arrow and Supergirl solos where the latter actually integrated the DEO organization to the character’s lore and the former have been gradually more like that show during Rebirth. Not to mention how in the current Aquaman run the charactwr is looking more like his Jason Mamoa counterpart due to the success of the movie. And this doesn’t even begin to cover how DC Universe streaming service is affecting the comics with the relaunch of both Young Justice and Doom Patrol.
Now on the MHA thing. If I were Marvel and DC, I would probably focus on creating interesting new story involving the teams that are pretty similar to Class 1-A. For DC, Legion of Super Heroes since I always find My Hero Academia to be sort of a spiritual successor to those comics, so I think now is a good time for DC to bring that team back. For Marvel, well, they have Champions so if they promote the fuck out of that more than ever (especially now that they have a good writer in Jim Zub) then they are golden.

CURSE YOU DELAY MAN
Does your Villainy know no limit!
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!Between this and the Doomsday Clock delays, it's obvious Johns can no longer hold a schedule, for whatever reason. Let him finish DDC and take Shazam off his hands. There are any number of talented artists who could rock a Shazam book.

Whoops. I was just imagining a Doc Shaner Shazam ongoing here. But seriously, lots of writers could do a Shazam book. I imagine G. Willow Wilson writing the Big Red Cheese. It would be gold.
Scott Lobdell spilled some major beans on Flash Forward on a podcast.
It sounds rather encouraging, hopeful, and a definite Fix Fic to Heroes In Crisis

Got a new image showing the line up of the upcoming Legion of Superheroes.
It looks like Lightning Lad has undergone a race lift. Or maybe that's his brother.
I find it more disturbing that Damien actually inputted a kill switch in the prisoners.
That's fucked up.
