Eddy who?
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-Aroundred devil
also yes no one important has died in king's run on batman yet, but a lot of characters are acting edgier and ooc, which is the main issue I had with Vision, I don't care that he killed off Vision's son, I care that he turned Victor into a junkie who did that and then died. also war of jokes and riddles was awful it had no reason to be 12 issues where we were just told oh man this stuff is bad, you wont see it except a single panel but hey heres a le epin kite man meme so you dont care this story is dragged out forever
Eddy the Red Devil, a Teen Titan that Didio really hates.
It's funny that you bring up King's Batman being dour and sad because I just finished up Tynion's Detective Comics and it's harsh but optimistic at the same time to the point of literally ending with Batman saying the phrase "Everything is going to be all right."

Eh Ultron's family is fucked up. I can buy Vic having his own demons.
It doesn't help the constant build-up to something really horrible Batman did & it was just him losing his cool & trying to seriously strangle Riddler.
It just got old really quickly. Deathstroke vs Deadshot was pretty dope, more of focus of that fight would have been cool.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Either way he kept building up to this bad thing he did & the end-result was something pretty mundane.
Sure it was bad but not that bad really. Then again Bats is melodramatic.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Hence Catwoman making fun of him.
Wait, Batman trying to kill someone is considered "not that bad"?
Not that I'm disagreeing with that view but it's so weird to encounter it at all.
I just don’t consider it that epic of a revelation to cap off a 12 issue arc.
It doesn’t help that it was a heat of passion thing, & he instantly stopped a moment later.
Now if it was premeditated then that would have been really awful.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
Batman has almost killed/ outright attempted to kill so many times now...
Its not shocking anymore
Bruce has broken the spirit of his one rule no matter how much the universe bends over backwards to preserve that he didn't!
IE Leaving KG Beast to die, Breaking Joker's neck and then chucking him down a bottomless pit etc etc
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!I still suspect there's going to be some plot twist at the end of Hiccups (my nickname for Hi C). There were a lot of dangling plot threads at the end of Williamson's Flash War (which was excellent and a loving tribute to the Flash fam). Williamson said in an interview with CBR that he's been aware of Hiccups for a long time even as he was working on Flash War. And I quote: "You're going to have days where you're going to hate us and it's going to get scary, but keep reading and know that we love these characters." He's also said in other interviews that Wally's story is far from over. My point: This sounds like Identity Crisis meets Secret Empire. They're jerking readers around and trying to get them mad enough to rage-purchase the book.
Like I said, I could be wrong. If I am, I'll definitely, DEFINITELY be depressed.
I'm just wondering when DC will stop producing these kinds of grimdark shock stories. Marvel has its own problems, but they "get it" in ways DC doesn't. There's more diversity in tone. They have legacy heroes. They have levity. They don't have as much decompression. I'm reading them much, much more these days.
And no, I don't have a lick of interest in reading Tom King.
I blame Dan Slott’s philosophy of “an enraged fan is an engaged fan”
You're going to pay a price for every bloody thing you do and everything you don't do. You don't get to choose to not pay a price.Dan Slott doesn't write for DC though.
It's a dumb philosophy, IMO. Has he ever heard of rage-quitting?
Funny thing is, Slott is a good writer who doesn't need to rely on pissing off fans. See his runs on Silver Surfer and She-Hulk.
Not much of a Slott fan, but for all the criticism he gets, his Spider-Man books do sell so he might be onto something
If Didio is the publisher, does that mean he makes less editorial decisions? Who is the current Editor in Chief of DC (wait, no, that's Bob Harras).

Rich Johnston why
Didio may be a bad editor but Johnston is complete yellow journalist slime.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Anyone want to sell me on the new Shazam comic? I did not like Johns' reinvention of the character as a little jerkface. I like super sunny, nicer than Superman Billy Batson.
I just did a whole spiel about it on the last page, but in terms of Billy, he's classic Billy. Granted, there isn't a lot of time to show it seeing as he's got five other characters sharing space and it's only the first issue. But so far he's spot-on.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundOh thank god.
I just saw the trailer for the movie and got super hyped so I'm thinking about giving the comic a whirl.
Also, Darla Dudley is adorable. (I'm not sure what her superhero name is — although I'm actually not sure what any of their names are. Only "Mary Marvel" really fits anymore, since they can justify the alliterativeness. "Captain Marvel Jr" doesn't work, since his name isn't "Captain Marvel." And the rest of the characters are new — Eugene Choi - can control technology, Pedro Pena - super strength, and Darla Dudley - super speed.)

...Don't Billy, Marvel, and Freddy have the latter two abilities by default?
Maybe it's just me, but I'm pretty sure the Marvel (Shazam whatever) family has more or less the same abilities by default.

Most people think that Hi C is just Didio's meatgrinder to get rid of the characters he doesn't like
Eddy showing up just to die.
like Eddy got screwed over in Teen Titans 03 and even if Didio basically demanded his death and then cockblocked any attempt to revive him... Eddy atleast went out saving the others even after losing his powers
Here, He has breakdown from failing to save someone in Raven's mini series and is just another body thrown on the pile
and thats the maddening thing.. The Story refuses to give actaul details
There has been a Massacre at Sanctuary!
"How many are dead?"
>.>' constantly refuses to answer that question so they can sneak a few more in!
