Season 3's detox episode and the finale also confirm that Rick does genuinely give a shit about his family. They also confirm that he's not happy about this since he thinks it holds him back, but he needs it anyway.

Disgusted, but not surprisedThat's not really a new observation, it's obvious that this Rick cares specifically about this Morty.
And that he hates that fact.

Eh, it was still a great scene.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!That's probably one of the major reasons Rick is...well, Rick. For whatever reasons he's internalized the idea that Love Is a Weakness. That giving a shit for other people is a bad thing.
Disgusted, but not surprisedAnd multiple that self-loathing by infinity looking at how all the Ricks treat each other in the citadel.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."No argument here. Touching and funny, given his reaction after realizing he doesn't have to die.

Rick continually espouses the idea that, in an infinite multiverse, nothing matters, and that with infinite Ricks, Mortys, and Smith families, people don't matter either. He also continually demonstrates that, whatever he says, or fears, he doesn't really believe it, or at least really doesn't want to. His assertion that he's the Rickest Rick alone is proof of that. He continually demonstrates a desperate need to feel special and unique (which is probably exacerbated, if not entirely fueled, by his knowledge of the multiverse).
With that in mind, I don't know if his abandoning his family and hauling Morty off to a non-Croneneberged Earth is an oversight in his characterization, or just proof that, for whatever reason, he values his Morty over anyone else in the family.
I just started reading about that Rick and Morty Mcnugget Sauce Controversy and I'm just... I'm just at a loss for words.
Did this actually happen?

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!How much of have you interacted with the internet?
Because from my POV it was simply another example of internet denizens being terrible in real life, i.e not new or surprising in the slightest.

"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnEvidently not enough.
I'm torn between this being hilarious and having had first-hand experience working at a Mcdonalds and feeling sorry for anybody who had to go through with that.
Then again, the one I worked at was a pit of misery and sadness, and having customers riot and interrupt the workday with some kind of internet meme would have been an entertaining diversion.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!/I tried to at least laugh a bit at the terrible idiot doing that, but the second hand embarrasment and pity for the employees was stronger. I cant even see it again.
FAKE EDIT:OH! You didnt see the idiot who went "PICKLE RIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!" didnt you?
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.,Quite, it's terrible that those poor employees had to deal with that kind of degeneracy. It was both hilarious and horribly pathetic (more of the latter then the former).
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnThis show has reached critical popular mass in that its so good people will actively make asses out of themselves.
Hopefully its already died down.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."(3) Nope.
(2) Eh.
TINY-RIIIIIICK!
So, what was Rick's deal with the "on the cob" planet?
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!If they explained it, it wouldn't be a joke.
I wouldnt call that "Pickle RIIIIIIIIIICK" guy a good person. Or anyone who does that to poor employees.

Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I meant the show itself is good.
Not the people.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It's the same as that conspiracy of squirrels that forces Rick and Morty to move again. It's not supposed to make sense.
It's been 3000 years…I've heard it said a few times that the reason it took a while for Evil Morty to come back was because some fans guessed what was going to happen correctly, so Harmon or whoever decided they had to do something different. Is this true?
jamie-b-good.tumblr.comI've no idea how or if fans guessed the Evil Morty storyline, but I'd wager that anybody claiming to have guessed that would happenis at least partially, completely, totally, and utterly full of it.
That said, (13) weirder things have happened in this show's fanbase.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I saw that Mc Donalds Canada has indeed brought back the Szechuan sauce for a promotion this Summer...on a burger...with crispy fried noodles.
Eeeehh, I dunno. Fandoms are pretty much the proverbial infinite monkeys behind type writers. You'd think no one would ever get any writing done if they were bothered by the occasional correct guess, especially if there is any foreshadowing whatsoever.
Why, hello there, Steven Universe fans!
Yeah, it doesn't seem plausible.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -Hylarn
Hmm.
