It’s quite incredible that I’ve watched/read most of the main Fate entries (the three Stay Night routes, Zero, Last Encore and the FGO anime) and yet I have no idea what the eff that whole "Akasha" thing is about.

I never even heard of a good third of the series he mentionned.

This is why I no longer keep track of Fate.

I just roll with it.

I won't get into Fate until they make a F/SN anime adaptation that isn't the DEEN one.

Well, the main point of the video at the end is "don't worry, just start with whatever you prefer"

Which is a message I support, really.

No need to concern yourself with the greater setting, just go with whatever picks your fancy, the pieces fall into place later.

Also, sorry for the double post, but heads up, the picture that he uses for Kinoku Nasu is actually from Yosuke Shiokawa, producer of FGO.

If you type "Kinoku Nasu" on Google Images it only shows pictures of Shiokawa and the cartoon mushroom Nasu uses as an avatar, because the man is a giant recluse and I don't think there's any public images of him.

Nope. He decided to stick with fate only series rather than involve tsukihime and Kara no Kyoukai.

He had a few errors in his video (like not clarifying that "demon slayer mangaka" was referring to specifically the gaiden mangas) but for the most part he's accurate. The prototype comment kicked me in the teeth as someone who has loved the spin off since I first got into the franchise about 4 years ago and honestly there are more out there things about requiem than just the literal Voyager space probe being the most adorable servant in the franchise.

True, but getting into the details of how nuts Requiem is would probably require him to spoil plot developments, and he was trying to keep it as spoiler-free as possible.
