Primarily we have been discussing the merits of the Equestria Games arc, whether it was good or bad, could it be improved or not, etc.

I think it was great. It finally breaks the curse of Spike episodes.

That was covered last episode, Power ponies was also pretty good. Overall Spike's had a pretty good season.

Indeed he has, brilliant we got more episodes focused on him. Much better than the episodes we were given for him in season 3 that is.

Sidekicks was also pretty enjoyable.

I wonder if she would have to pay royalties.

That cloak almost makes her look like a Death Eater.

I liked the episode but agree that this episode was a wasted opportunity. Yes only RD and Fluttershy were competing in the games, but there were so many other things the ponies could do. There are high class ponies from all over Equestria, lots of people for Rarity and Pinkie to connect with. Twilight as a Princess could be struggling with the pressure to keep everything in order. There's no reason Applejack actually can't have been an athlete in the Earth Pony competitions. Sure it hasn't been previously established but it would be far from out of character.

Even if you didn't want to do a Best Night Ever, type set up, you could tie it into the Season 4 story arc. Like Twilight getting her key in this episode, using this episode to build up a somewhat uneasy atmosphere that would pay off in Twilight's Kingdom. In terms of the main S4 story arc it seems like the E Gs just serves as an excuse to give RD her key, and it gets the mane 6 near the Crystal Empire.

Sidekicks was good, this episode was good (most criticism are of the arc as a whole rather than the episode itself), and "Inspiration Manifestation" was pretty good, too. I wouldn't say he's had an Awesome-Tier episode like Pinkie Apple Pie though.

Well, they won, so she can't have been doing too badly.

Good news for the Wonderbolts who have gained some medals, bad news being Fleetfoot is still ill.
