One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4, coming to PS4, XB1, Switch, and PC in 2020.

As much as I love these Warrior spin-offs, I still haven't played any of the Pirate Warriors games. Really need to get the third one on Switch.

This is not the greatest signature in the world, no... this is just a tribute.

I will say Pirate Warriors 3 is excellent and I love it even if it doesn't let me play as Alvida or Don Krieg.

I will say I haven't seen or read One Piece in a long time so this trailer makes me think WTF IS GOING ON!?

I bought Dynasty Warriors 9 and One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 at the same time yesterday.

It's amazing how between the two I have gotten probably the worst Warriors game I've ever played and one of the best. Seriously, even if you're not a fan of the anime Pirate Warriors is amazing.

DW 9 had the intro narration dialogue cut itself off and went downhill from there.

The original Sangoku Musou, aka Dynasty Warriors, was a 1-on-1 fighting game. The next game in the series, which introduced the current gameplay formula, was titled Shin Sangoku Musou (shin meaning "true"), but was simply localized as Dynasty Warriors 2. That's why.

On September 26th at 11PM PDT, there'll be a 20th anniversary panel for the series at TGS, with two announcements of DW-related titles.

I think there's potential in the transition from Sui to Tang (c. AD 611-628). Potential characters include Sui's Emperor Yang, Tang's Emperors Gaozu and Taizong, and a dozen unsuccessful rebel leaders including the brutal cannibal Zhu Can and the well-read and generous Li Gui.

Stream just announced a mobile game (Bleh) and Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires. 9 seemed to be a proto-empires as is so this will be, bare mins, better.

Maybe there's more but this is all in Japanese and I'm falling asleep.

Working on cleaning up List of Shows That Need Summary

I'm quite surprised that despite the negativity towards DW 9, Koei decided to give it an Empires expansion. They said to themselves that DW 9 wouldn't have one because of how large the game has to fit in. But here I am, staring at disbelief.

Also on the mobile version, slow combat action I've ever seen. And why the need for character switching mechanics from WO?

Well they're getting rid of the open world stuff for Empires, from what I read.

Well they would need to get rid of the poor weapon system and fix the boring looking assets too.

Huh, the open world seemed to be a far more natural fit for Empires than anything else Dynasty Warriors, so color me surprised if it's going away. I hope they still keep the dynamic weather/sky/ToD, as those were some of the most impressive features of the game, visually.

Hope it can look a little more decent on next gen. DW9 has the bones of a nice looking game, especially in the western, southern and northeastern parts of the map, but Omega Force's woeful optimization ability (they gave random livestock detailed dentures◊) paired with biting off more than they could chew holds it back, reaching an unhappy medium of poor IQ and iffy framerate.

I at least hope they can improve hair rendering, as that was a sore thumb marring some remarkably◊ detailed◊ faces◊.

So the movie adaptation of Dynasty Warriors is on Netflix apparently.

The dubbing in it is so bad and the plot is a confusing mess to newcomers. The action is so hokey it is the definition of hokey, it is hoke incarnate.

I love it, exactly what I wanted on all fronts. 10/10.
