I think it's relevant to this thread: French conspirationnists with QAnon ties who kidnapped a 8-years old girl were also discussing bombing vaccination centers.
Yeesh, I know most US trends are adopted in Europe sooner or later, but we could have skipped this one...
You know, sometimes I wish we could get rid of social media entirely...
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYeah I am not buying that explanation that they kidnapped her and were planning to kidnap more for their safety.
That's probably a honest answer - after all the creed of QAnon is that there is a vast international conspiracy of paedophiles, so from that assumption on kidnapping children to get them away from said vast international conspiracy is a rational act.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI understand why they came to that conclusion that that was somehow the best way to deal with this. I don't agree with it because its Q Anon but I can atleast logically see why they did that
Still can't help but feel mistrustful on their intentions as I have seen far too many Qultists or Qultist-adjacents conveniently ignore pedophiles that spring up on their side or even defend them.

QAnon cultists are notorious for actually impairing efforts against child trafficking through all their false denunciations.
This too, I remember reading that they gave off a lot of tips last year that were really just false flags and ridiculous accusations which did not help people actually fighting trafficking rings at all.

An illegal immigrant from Tunisia killed a civilian employee working at a PN station in Rambouillet.
Prosecutors are treating it like a terror attack.
"The men have told prosecutors that they were contacted online by the child’s mother, Lola Montemaggi, who solicited them to abduct Mia. The plot, described by French prosecutors as a “military operation” run by “extremely well-prepared” kidnappers, worked as planned, and 20 minutes after kidnapping Mia, the men handed the child over to Montemaggi, who proceeded to walk across the border into Switzerland with her daughter."
The child had previously been removed from her mother by public officials—in other words this was a plot by the mother to take her child back and leave the country. The headline is rather misleading...

Afghan interpreters are worried about being hunted by the Taliban once NATO-backed forces leave.
I remember a John Oliver segment about the same issues in the Iraq war.

From today's What the Fuck Just Happened Today?
Federal agencies are investigating at least two incidents on U.S. soil that appear similar to the “Havana syndrome” attack, a mysterious, invisible event reported by American diplomats based in Cuba in late 2016. One of the unexplained attacks occurred in November near the Ellipse, the oval lawn south of the White House, and sickened one National Security Council official. (CNN / CNBC)
Vice News on Iraqi special forces raiding ex-ISIS hideouts in Iraq.
Havana Syndrome sounds like something out of a conspiracy theory, but it's apparently real:
"Subsequent studies of the affected diplomats in Cuba, published in the journal JAMA in 2018, found evidence that the diplomats experienced some form of brain injury, but did not determine the cause of the injuries.[9][10] While there is no expert consensus on the cause of the symptoms,[5] a co-author of the JAMA study considered microwave weapons to be "a main suspect" for the phenomenon.[11] A U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine expert committee concluded in December 2019 that microwave energy (specifically, directed pulsed RF energy) "appears to be the most plausible mechanism in explaining these cases among those that the committee considered" but that "each possible cause remains speculative.""
That's some precise microwaving then. The effects sound pretty mild at least, possible melted brain aside.
Secret SignatureThe Havana Syndrome thing is the kind of shit that will only be solved in like 100 years when files start being declassified.

Another Afghan security facility is captured by Taliban forces.
Clearly, in the great US tradition of screwing over our allies, the Biden Administration has thrown Afghanistan under the bus. Why would anybody in the Middle East still trust us?
It's myopic to blame Biden, this failure was a long time coming. He's simply the person who recognized that we've lost.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnAren't there only around 2500 US troops remaining anyway? Doesn't this mean that it is the Afghan govt that is mostly doing the heavy lifting currently? So unless the US is cutting off every form of aid including arm supplies, then how is a mere reduction of 2500 troops supposed to effect the scenario so greatly? The Afghan govt forces do have the numerical advantage against the taliban forces if I understand right. And if they continue to get arms supplies and other forms of aid then they should be able to hold themselves, right?
Also the middle east nations already have a good deal of past reasons to doubt the US in my opinion.

The Afghans are completely dependent on things like US air assets, contractors etc. to even function on a basic level. They're not capable of holding their own, as we've seen.
