Undertale/Deltarune

I remember reading it would be one full release.

Also wow. I can't believe there's still dialogue in Undertale I hadn't seen.

Wait I just realized: Monsters can't use magic in the Light World.

Toriel uses a gas stove instead of fire magic, and Undyne can create magic spears in Undertale whereas Susie has no idea where her ax came from when she first fights Lancer.

This raises implications

You sure? I didn't really see any reason for them to use magic and Suzie's axe isn't the only weapon that appears out of nowhere, there's also Kris's sword. Also Undyne's spears appeared to be more of a sort of water based power to me

Kris' sword is their pencil.

Toriel also had a gas stove in Undertale, but it was largely unused. However in Undertale, her house was only inhabited by herself. While most of Toriel's family is boss monsters in Delta Rune, Kris isn't. Perhaps the oven is used in DR because they've taken up baking as well?

I'm pretty sure it's mentioned in Undertale that Toriel uses fire magic on her stove.

Also I've realized the game doesn't line up chronologically with Undertale. Chara fell into the Underground in 201X and presumably they and Asriel died not long after, with Frisk falling much later on at a point where several Monsters don't even know what a human looks like. Meanwhile Deltarune has Asriel alive in the same timeframe as the rest of the UT cast.

I agree with you. I'm saying the reason the stove might be dirty in DR, when it wasn't in UT is because there's someone living there who doesn't have access to fire magic.

Which actually fits with their bathroom having a toilet actually. Something we know monsters don't need, even in DR. Why else are there no restrooms at the school?

Deltarune's timeline absolutely can't fit with Undertale's in any way. It's almost certainly intentional, given how blatant it is.

Moar Deltarune theories.

• The Dark World is connected to locations all over town, like how the abandoned classroom was the basis for the first land of the Dark World, but they'll all be accessed using the closet in the school. Entering it will just send the Fun Gang to new areas then spit them out in the corresponding Light World location.

• Every piece of the Dark World will be based on some kind of toy or game.

• Asgore and Alphys will pair up since she got with Undyne in Undertale.

• Papyrus will be a party member, or alternatively when we finally meet him he'll be Beta Papyrus who wore a fedora.

• Susie and Noelle won't actually happen. It feels too telegraphed, and Noelle kind of gives me selfish vibes. Not necessarily malicious but that right now there's nothing substantive to her crush on Susie. Susie's been isolated for who knows long where no one reached out to her (assuming she's not actually the bully her classmates make her out to be anyway), only for Noelle to just be pining after her from afar and I feel that if Noelle blurts it out Susie won't be receptive. Also? Ace headcanon for Susie.

• Monsters don't disintegrate into dust upon death in this universe. Sort of tying into my earlier "can't use magic" theory, but there's a graveyard for monsters in town which makes little sense if they just turn to dust. It might just be that there's actual room to have graveyards since they're above ground though.

• Gaster won't actually feature too heavily in the game. The whole point of the character was in being lost from the world and hidden away in the game's files, and I think Toby's too much of an auteur to rely so heavily on Undertale for this game. Extending to the rest of the Undertale cast but I think they'll remain in the background as well.

Unironically my dream. I want Nice Guyrus to be in Deltarune. I want the fanbase to have to suffer his existence corrupting everything good and pure about Undertale Papyrus into a cynical, grotesque mockery of who he once was.
