Journal of a once again VERY pissed off Viha Kirbonium VII, Axe Lord of the Ordo Possideo

I know I said I was going to start writing in the other one but JESUS FUCKING CHRIST THE MINIFORGE IS GONE. I've had a completely mundane replica commissioned at the last minute, and barring actually... ugh... Using Durza to get back the forge (as much as it pains me to even contemplate working with a demon), I can at the very least pull a quick switcheroo at the last minute and let him leave with what he thinks is the mini-forge.

But as of right now, we have a much more pressing, and much more deadly threat to take care of. The bastard is clearly more cunning than Durza or I, which worries me a little. I'm going to need to be sober for this. Ugh.

UPDATE: I found a little child playing with it. I feel somewhat sheepish, but as I swapped my mundane model for the real thing and scampered back to the THRONE room, making sure I wasn't seen, of course, I could hear him start to cry. It will not move my conscience if it means slaughtering the foul demon scum that taints this fortress. I replaced the forge in the activation apparatus, and hid it a little bit better this time. This will be the final entry in this journal before it gets dropped in the lava garbage flow. The gravitas of my ancestors' writings is getting to be a little too much to bear.

The Chronicles of Bladebound Olondódok Avanocîg Ber, "Bladebound Gearclasped the Lyrical Dell of Earth", God-Emperor of Dwarfkind, Appendix 5: [Illegible date]: Today my Mechanism-Priests-in-training (or Mooks rescued from Durza's evil) discovered failures in the mechanisms connecting the IMPERATOR to the PSYKER. I hurried to THRONE and investigated the situation, discovering that these faults are far beyond our ability to repair. Even if the activation mechanisms for the PSYKER were installed, I fear that it would not fuel the IMPERATOR any longer, and that the energy would instead be collected by whatever other soul-powered machines or rituals lie nearby. This is bad. Very bad.

I have destroyed all copies of the blueprints showing how to connect the PSYKER with its activation lever. If I cannot use that power, no one will be allowed to. I will have to find another way to ensure that I can watch over Dwarfkind long after some misguided heretic wounds me badly or I am otherwise indisposed.

While Durza and the Ordo Dolabra are starting to cause far more problems than they solve, other dwarves are acting to save us all. viha Kirbonium VII has gathered together a band of other dwarves under the banner of the Ordo Possideo and seek to find all heretics in the fortress, as well as to counteract the Ordo Dolabra as Durza strikes out against the undeserving.

Meanwhile, Condorito, the resident Boozesmith, has taken the initiative to personally oversee the brewing industry, muttering something about an attempt to sabotage the booze supply with strange substances by an unknown dwarf. I am considering the possibility of naming him the head of the Ordo Fermentum, charged with keeping the booze safe.

OOC: By the way, I personally don't mind the Gambit Pileup going on. Plots for the Plot God! Schemes for the Scheme Throne! Let the turncoats turn!

Ordo Possideo Log

High Judicator Viha Kirbonium VII, [Date Smudged by Inkblot]

I am steadily gaining evidence of Durza's villainy in between the swift judgement of heretics tainted by his foul miasma. I caught a dwarf skulking about the outside of the THRONE room, muttering something about "Lord Durza" and "Kill me if I don't", and after a thorough interrogation, first through words, second at the edge of an axe, he was more than eager to spill information about where Durza was originally sealed in, and what unholy rituals he'd already undertaken. My assistant noted that that "may be the shortest interrogation in the history of the Ecru Road", and that I "really needed to lay off the Renegade interrupts". What the bloody krutz is a Renegade interrupt?

Anyway, I visited the foul pit that the demon was sealed in to find something horrifying. Inscribed in one of the walls, was an exact replica of the building plans for the IMPERATOR, the PSYKER, and the THRONE, and on the other, a set of glyphs that are likely demonic in origin. I expect that this was through the influence of the vein of godsmetal in the floor— it is common knowledge that demonic hordes lust after this metal, and prolonged contact with it attunes you to the realms of Spirit and the realms of Hell. I'm considering having it mined up to make a new axe with. Either that, or a silver axe, so I can cauterize the stump neck of that demonic scum as I decapitate him. He also managed to keep some of his original team that built the LAVA contraption, so he still has blindly loyal followers. They will need to be publically executed, preferably via upside down crucifixion, to make an example of what happens to those who align themselves with the forces of Hell in this Armok-blessed fortress.

Either way. I will go and turn this evidence over to our glorious God Emperor, take an oath of fealty to him, and then convene with the rest of the Ordo Possideo over a tankard of ale. Because after all, "Caeteris paribus omnium, simplicissima solutio cervisie." Found that gem of a quote in Kirbonium III's journal.

Until next time.

Zip the folder up, then upload it at DFFD and post a link. I trust the fort hasn't burned down or anything, that being my job?

Also, I've been checking some stuff and the bridges I used to contain the magma in LAVA are't actually strong enough to bear the heat of magma. If anyone lowers them, they'll disintegrate before you can raise them again, so don't lower them unless you really mean it.

Your malevolence knows no bounds. I absolutely love it – viha Kirbonium.

Paramythion: You get that save to work?

If you need more help you need to use a file compression program like 7 zip, win zip, or win rar to create a zip file. Then going to the Dwarf Fortress File Depot uploading the file in the appropriate section and giving us a link to the file in question for download.

Ok anyone have anything to do or something to say before I take the save? This will likely be another maintenance turn for me to clear up junk and try to boost FPS again.

I would ask that you continue to make our Fort the Shiniest of Forts.

1) Melt everything that's metal, and not Masterwork. 2) Dump everything in the lava that's not metal, and not Masterwork. 3) Find a way to turn off engraving for the dorfbabbies, so legendary engravings can be had. 4) Sell off/dump non-legendary booze and food. 5) Get all the Legendary crafters to craft up some Masterwork items.

That's basically what I'll be doing on my turn, but it'll take longer than one turn to do it! :)

The Latin pieces are actually mottoes, the first one: "Caeteris paribus omnium, simplicissima solutio cervisie" is a rough translation of "All things being equal; the simplest solution is ale", which was adopted by Viha Kirbonium III as the family motto.

"Sit Matrisfutators Peruro", being the adopted motto of the Ordo Possideo, is slightly more vulgar— it's roughly "Let the motherfuckers burn". As in, "We don't need no water..."

[up][up] A workaround to the child engravings might be to burrow the lot of them away from the engraving designations and/or putting locked doors between them and the designations.

Hermunster's Log: Sometime in year 263 (Krutzing calendar is broken),

The mood in the Fort has turned most foul in these last few months. Several incidences (and their high body counts) have sent many a dwarf into melancholy, depression, and heavy drinking. At root of these problems is disease, one that doesn't require a doctor to see afflicts the minds of several dwarfs: Nobility.

Durza, Bladebound, Azreal, and Kirbonium all exhibit the regular symptoms: lust for power, envy and covetousness of others' station, irrational demands and projects, and delusions of divinity. Isn't having a King already bad enough without trying to jerry-rig themselves into immortality? Faph me if I wasn't blessed with enough sense to become a miner! Now that's the life: breaking rocks and drinking ale!

In a Pathfinder adventure, I've recently been tasked to come up with a coat of arms.

The motto I chose for that will also fit here:

CAVETE STULTORIS

which translates out to "Be Careful, You Fools!"
