My bad. Just changed it again.

[up][up] Don't worry. You'll get plenty of opportunities for space battles.

Alright, cool. And honestly if the main ship is going to be a YT-1300 we probably won't need to shoehorn in access to a fighter unless there's some specific reason to have one. (Besides, this is Rebel Alliance-era Star Wars and we have an astromech droid on our side. How could we not have at least an X-wing show up at some point?)

Anyway, if it wasn't obvious, I'm definitely taking some inspiration from the X-Wing and Rogue Squadron series of games here.

  • Name: Sue-Florence “Twig” Racg
  • Age: 46
  • Species: Gamorrean
  • Weapons: Vibro-Ax
  • Skills: A scholar first and foremost, then a medic and a tracker. Despite his protests otherwise, Twig is a Brute- immense in strength, ponderous in agility and possessing a terrible berserker rage.
  • Background: Twig was born in an outer rim world in the city of Reno. After both his parents was killed in a smuggling deal gone bad a week later, Twig was adopted by an unlikely pair of a bleeding heart rich mother and a drunkard father.

Twig’s childhood was a disaster, to say the least. His mother’s money runs dry, and his father left home when he was three. He didn’t leave the young Gamorrean much but an empty bottle of booze, an old guitar and Twig’s godawful first name.

Bullied because of name and appearance and prohibited from retaliating by his idealistic mother, Twig buries himself in his studies. As a child, he dreamt of overturning the bad reputation of the Gamorrean by becoming a doctor.

Unfortunately, the galaxy wasn’t ready for a starry-eyed boar. He was laughed out of nearly every medical school and hospitals he set foot in. Eventually, the day after his mother died, he was forced to join up in the mercenary gang of the notorious Piazza the Hutt. He traveled the galaxy, learning whatever he can and mitigating the worse of the Hutt’s crimes whenever possible, until the Hutt’s death at the hand of a pair of Jedi.

Barely making it out of the compound, Twig continue wandering until he eventually cobble up enough credits to buy a voice modulator and joining up with the Rebels to prove to the galaxy that a Gamorrean can be a hero. The chance to find his bastard of an adopted father is a nice bonus.

[up] I love your character. Accepted. I liked how you finally portrayed Gammorreans as something more than just brutes. I'll add Twig to the active character list. Do you want to be team medic?

It says there that it's an Imperial ship. How could the Rebels have gotten ahold of it?

Well, actually I guess they could have stolen it or something. Okay, what do you guys think? YT-1300 freighter or the Imperial gunboat?

Maybe they change out ships between missions? A captured Imperial ship might be better off for infiltration, and a rebel ship might be better off for.... something? Maybe when flying to friendly places that will shoot down Imperial ships on sight?

Well, they could have stolen it and modified it, but good point.

Also, what Era is this in? The Original Trilogy?

I already mentioned the time period. It's a year before the events of A New Hope.

I'll think about what ship we'll use. If anyone else has any ideas, feel free to shout them out.

  • Name: Rowan the Hutt

  • Age: 256

  • Species: Hutt

  • Weapons: Blaster pistol, Plasma Torch, Thermal detonators.

  • Skills: Smuggling, Basic Piloting, Engineering, Strategy and Tactics, Explosives.

  • Background: Rowan was like, many of the hutts, a self-serving greedy entity that basked in the corruption and deceit the hutt society and ways of life offered. However, Rowan was slightly different than many of the Hutts. First of all, he was somewhat of a runt, which made him a bit of a joke among his peers. While most of his equals were more about slavework, deals and cash, Rowan judiciously invested in the lucrative world of technology smuggling, in order to get an upper hand. Eventually, his interest on technology grew to the point of personal implication. Using his money and connections, he taught himself engineering skills and began to maintain his own devices and the ones of his retinue, in a combination of paranoia and self-pride in his work. He would never cease a second to rest and bask. Rowan's goons became a notorious gang under his strict guide, famous for their well maintaned weapons and droids, and would eventually stop doing planetary low-key business and embark themselves in pirate raids against merchant vessels of the Republic.

This however, proved Rowan's undoing, as the Hutt angered people he shouldn't and soon, his lair was assaulted by Republican forces, bent on having his head. Initially, the assault was doomed to fail, given the forework the Hutt had been doing with laying traps and explosives all the way up to him, but somehow, the heroic forces of the Republic made through, and nearly killed the Hutt, who slithered wounded into a escape ship, which would also be critically damaged and sent out drifting in outer space.

But Rowan survived, thanks to the sturdy Hutt biology. He spent years, decades, licking his wounds, and then reemerged, bent on revenge on a Republic that did no longer exist. Now it was the Empire. Having take a large hit to his Hutt pride, Rowan began to move more cautiously, dropping several crippling habits of the Hutt, such as their pride, and investing in others who had saved his life, such as his knowledge in technology. He also tried to keep his body fit for a Hutt.

He then waited, and bid his time in a certain backwater town of Naboo, with a meager squad of hirelings... confident that one day, he would strike a good chance to announce the galaxy that rowan was back.

Err...I'm having some hesitation in accepting the Hutt. I don't see a big, fat, slow, slug fitting very well in a black ops squad. Unless he was one of the thinner, smaller Hutts. Or was the freighter's pilot or something. If you want to PM me, we could work out more specifics.

Ooh, haven't done anything Star Wars since The Rats and the Mynocks died quite a bit of time ago.

  • Name: Teenee T'avok, usually nicknamed 'Tiny' or 'Batman'.
  • Age: 20.
  • Species: Chadra-Fan.
  • Weapons: A DXR6 heavy blaster carbine modified by Teenee for greater accuracy and ammo capacity; Class-A thermal detonators.
  • Skills:
    • Good-natured and extremely amiable.
    • Expert mechanic and engineer.
    • Good sniper.
  • Backstory: Teenee would've just continued to wander around the galaxy and tinker with stuff if not for a particularly nasty Imperial officer. The officer, much to Teenee's horror, ordered an orphanage Teenee built some stuff for burned to the ground just because its superintendent aided a Jedai. Shocked to his core, the Chadra-Fan decided he couldn't stand such an evil government and joined the Rebel Alliance, first as a mechanic and engineer and then as a warrior.

hey, expressing interest here.

Would a weird former-Sep droid be allowed? I got the impression the Rebels would use anything they could lay their hands on.

It'd be allowed but you'd have to explain how the droid survived the war and mass deactivation of all Sep droids.

Well, I think we have enough squaddies but maybe you can make a new Rebel for next mission if you'd like.
