My best advice for a newcomer is to keep going through the quests and junctions until you unlock practically the entire star chart. You'll eventually run into junctions that will require you to do some miscellaneous challenges and story/side quests. Let that guide you through most of the early stuff.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets. And stay away from Fortuna and Cetus until you've filled out the star chart. Those are endgame areas, I have no idea why a quest guide would send you there straight off.
Yeah Cetus and Fortuna both have good stuff, but unless you're really enjoying the content there, focus on progressing the star chart, you'll get much more out of it. Anything past the first mission or two in either is going to be extremely difficult for an underequipped newbie.
"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"Plus, to really optimize your time on Cetus, and Fortuna to a lesser extent, you'll want to finish The War Within first, if primarily for gameplay reasons, as there are some things on both open-world locations that only get unlocked once you've finished said story quest.

"You can reply to this Message!"Who are you and why are you watching my gameplay.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.Bring Rhino and a good gun. Do you have a Tigris Prime, or a Tombfinger kitgun built for crit? Both of those are good choices.
At the start of each round, find the energy orbs first to make sure you can have Iron Skin on for the whole round. Don't worry about Roar; the Tigris is more than capable of oneshotting the executioners, especially if you use a slash/viral status build.
....I have a Sancti Tigris. I also have an Arca Plasmor with a decent riven.
In practice, I almost got it done with Hildryn. Almost as in "made it to the third round on my third life, last enemy killed me".
I have not cursed that much at a video game in a LONG while.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117Hello, is there a TV tropes clan for switch users?
Use Ash. You can get most of the kills you need in one sweep, and you don't have to stop moving. Just sweep over them all and then hit them when you're safe. And bring a sniper rifle for if you do want long-range.
I think I used my Rhino and his trusty Viral Boltor Prime
"You can reply to this Message!"It's been months since I played, I have no idea how my clan is doing, if I was kicked out or not.
What state is Warframe in now?
New alert system has given us semi-regular story updates and regular new challenges, so that's nice. That might have started right after you left. Other than that, there hasn't been a whole lot; they're gearing up for the massive spaceship expansion and a separate expansion outside the Origin System, so it's been a bit quiet. A couple new 'frames, a new mission type. That sort of thing.
Wukong got a complete overhaul to coincide with his Prime release. He went from bottom-tier to mid-tier, and more importantly he's just plain fun to play now.
Reach mods all day with his Staff for maximum memes.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.Gauss is out, and there are new Disruption missions. Gauss parts drop from Rotation C on Sedna's Disruption.
Got really lucky on Disruption: Got all the Gauss parts on the first mission. Wave 8, sure, but still. Also got his weapons in one round of Infested Disruption on Ur.

"You can reply to this Message!"Kind of weird Gauss has a Mag Helmet and Mag has a Gauss Helmet.
With a '0', not an 'O'Gauss is totally Volt and Mag's kid, so it makes perfect sense he has a helm that references his mother.
The actual reason is cause Mag had the Gauss helmet for ages so I guess DE thought it would be amusing to give Gauss a Mag helmet.
Click Click Boom BoomWould be funny if they swap helmets.
With a '0', not an 'O'I got an affinity booster from my login reward and decided to try to level up some archwing weapons I've had forever. I completely forgot how hard that is. Not only do archwing weapons need more affinity, but there are only a handful of archwing missions, most of them suck, and no one runs them anyway.
Railjack includes a big archwing update, right? So maybe we can finally have some fun with that instead of it being the part we try to ignore?
The Sabotage Mission on Neptune is great for leveling Archwing.
"You can reply to this Message!"My Archwing is fully leveled up cause you need it to unlock Atlas.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
Yup, scrolled up, found it. Scary looking gear, especially with the hood open; kinda looks like some sort of creature is consuming your Tenno feet first.
One of the game's few flaws; to a newcomer, it's like "MOTHEROFGODTHERESTOOMUCHTODOMYBRAINHURTS". My suggestion stick with the star chart and the quests.
