In my experience, my PS4 controller lasts way longer than my PS3 controllers.
So, we don't seem to have a general PlayStation thread, so I'm gonna ask this here.
Did the PS2 Slim have any notable improvements over the original "Fat" model, besides its size?
I'm wanting to buy another so I can play my PS2 library again, and I'd prefer the Fat model because then I can get the hard drive instead of memory cards, but if the fat model had, I don't know, a higher tendency to break or something that the Slim model didn't, then I'll just go with the Slim model.
The Slim is apparently less prone to possible disc-reading and hardware failures.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Slim is more reliable than the Fat one.
Believe me, I’ve had more games fail to boot on my first PS 2 (which was the Fat one) than on my second and third PS 2’s (both are slim, third one was gotten because my friend insisted on me using component cables despite me saying numerous times that I didn’t care about the fuzz that goes up the picture with the AV cables I have, which could just simply be the fault of the specific AV cables and not AV cables in general.)
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Does anyone know how to start a live chat with Playstation support? I bought a controller five months ago that’s having stick trouble now. I need to talk to an actual person about it, but their phone line is closed and I can’t find their live chat option that they say they have on their website.
Maybe PSN?
Optimism is a duty. But nothing lasts forever, as Sony's recent decisions regarding older Play Station online stores show. At some point in the future, whether it's in one year or 100 years, Sony will shut off the PSN servers that power the timing check for hardware it no longer considers important. After that, it's only a matter of time before failing CMOS batteries slowly reduce all PS 3 and PS 4 hardware to semi-functional curios.
Sony could render the problem moot relatively easily with a firmware update that limits the system functions tied to this timing check. Thus far, though, Sony hasn't publicly indicated it has any such plans and hasn't responded to multiple requests for comment from Ars Technica. Until it does, complicated workarounds that make use of jailbroken firmware are the only option for ensuring that aging Play Station hardware will remain fully usable well into the future.
So I’m starting Heavy Rain on PS 4 for the first time and after the loading screen it just keeps flashing on and off the configuration menu. Like it felt like anyone could get a seizure from it. It’s the latest update btw. Is it just me, or does anyone experience this?
EDIT: okay now that I’m starting the game everything is just broken. The animation only moves at like 2 frames per second.
EDIT 2: I got it on disk. Gonna try to get a new disk from Gamefly

Oh, good. That was a big problem and I’m glad they dealt with it.

So I found out that my new wireless headphones won't pair with the PS 4 because of an outdated Bluetooth driver.
The worst thing? It's a Sony headphone. The wh-1000xm4, to be precise...
Optimism is a duty. They fix the PS 4 Bricking update yet? And while I'm at it, I beseech the admins of the forums (For I know not where else to ask.) am I allowed to start a topic focused solely on Limited run physical copies (Not specifically Limited Run Games, but all of the like.)?

Sanity is the Lie, there is only Madness. The mods aren't likely to be checking this thread unless hollered for. That said, I don't see why such a thread wouldn't be allowed. We've had general threads before.
We aren’t allowed to have generic discussion topics like “favorite console” on here, but I think a thread specifically about Limited Run Games would be fine as we do have “general” threads for consoles/developers/franchises on here.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life! You can maybe make one on Yackfest?
Optimism is a duty. What about "limited run games" — whatever those are — is common enough that a thread could sustain a conversation about them, as opposed to having a separate topic for each game?
With topics like "Playstation 4", "Konami", etc., at least there's something to focus on that doesn't automatically duplicate conversations that are being held in other threads.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Limited Run Games refers to a company that makes physical copies of niche titles.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Thank you, I've been wondering about this for a while now. Ok back to topic. Uh.........How long you think before Sony drops PS 4 support?
Sanity is the Lie, there is only Madness.Sony will produce another million PS 4 consoles, since these are easier to produce at the moment.
Optimism is a duty.Huh, seems like PS 4 consoles are out of stock as well.
Optimism is a duty.I got a new dualshock, and I noticed the new ones have a slit on the touch pad, so you can now actually see the coloured light that was hidden on the back end in the previous model.
Good job, Sony. You keep on innovating, you.
Optimism is a duty.
I did not know that, that is indeed handy.
Hmm, from what I'm reading, it is mainly the controller light and speaker gobbling up energy. Better turn those down, then.
