@ Musik: Now, now, she doesn't hate them—she just gets skittish about things that can crush her with their foot and the idea of her being flung around in the air. You can probably guess that it's because she's an Earth creature, and doesn't want to be detached from the ground. Not to mention that flying things in the sky have been known to kill her family… (Chiko doesn't have too much of a problem with birds themselves as long as they're not big enough to carry her around while flying.)

Hope we get started soon. Until then, though, I'll go back to working on my twin Cybrids for the Bureau. ;D

I'm extremely sorry for delays in things!

I really haven't been feeling all that well, and my esteem and enthusiasm has been suffering greatly. I will say that I do have good news however!

First, judgement on characters!

Sheba

She's accepted~!

Ripper

The only thing I would change is to remove his telekinesis. That's really my only big problem.

Once that's done, he's accepted.

Green Paladin & Katerina

Both are accepted! Though, I am curious as to the magic that the Green Paladin uses.

Is he basically a shaman?

Lesnaya Tsarevna

Accepted~!

We now have our first archer!

Chiko

Accepted~!

( And yes, there are airships in this setting. So her bio is fine~)

I do believe I got most of the sign-ups, if not, do point them in my direction!

Also, Shadow Kaiser, do you mean The Ragnarok/War between Lord Tirion's armies and Keva and his armies? If so, approximately 100 days. It took Keva six years after the events of The Ragnarok to properly take control over Milvallen, and the RP takes place roughly 36 years after they have taken control.

Now, onto the extremely good news!

The RP has started with a slightly lengthy opening post here!

And we have a totally civil discussion thread here!

I do hope this makes up for things! And again, sorry for the delay!

Yeah, the Paladin is basically a Shaman who can cast a few defensive and damage absorbing spells. I didn't go with a specific alignment as he doesn't care if what he's doing is technically considered evil. He sees two sides: Nature (good) / Technology (bad).

Oh. I thought that The Ragnarok and the time the RP starts was 25 years.

…I think I'll have to change Chiko's age, then—things won't fit for these two other characters of mine if she was born right in the middle of Keva's reign.

[up][up] Speaking of said characters, he'll really hate these two, once I properly write them down.

Sorry about that, Naomi. >.<

I had initially wanted it to be 25 years, but after much thought I went with the forty-year length of things. Mainly because I wanted to give more leeway for older characters who could have more 'experience' of Keva's rule, and younger characters who are 'naive' of it, and those in-between.

I truly am sorry about that.

  • Name: Zialaranth 'Z'
  • Age: 59
  • Race: Twilight Dragonflight
  • Alignment: Neutral
  • Appearance(s): Zia is a sleek, if small black dragon. The have a long neck and equally long and slender prehensile tail. She stands as tall or only slightly shorter than a horse, though a lot longer from head to the tip of the tail. Zia has a pair of leathery wings and horns which emerge from the side of the skull before curling forward. She has big and sharp talons, perfect for fight or climbing. Their preferred humanoid form has short black hair, cut just a bit further from chin-level. She has gold colored eyes and long elven like ears. She look around 15 or 16 years old, a little shorter than the norm and pretty slender.
  • Personality/Behavior: Zia acts in a light hearted, good humored and slightly silly manner most of the time, never seeming to take anything seriously at least when it comes to everyday life. However, this attitude only hides a cunning and somewhat self interested mind, always in the lookout for opportunities and dangers both. Zia can't be said to not greedy or to want to enjoy life to the fullest while always keeping a certain degree of control.
  • Likes/Dislikes: Likes: Money, Knives, Meat, Drink, Shiny Things, Magical Artifacts, Knowledge, the Shadows, Labyrinthine Alleys, Crowds when they are not focused on her, flying, sweet stuff, fruits. Dislikes: Keva, Law, losing control, multiple good opponents, blinding light, self righteous humans, poverty, restraint.
  • Racial Traits: Above average speed and strength, being a dragon, flight. The ability to shift to a humanoid shape and in between, the ability to hold their breath under water, poisonous breath and saliva, including acid.
  • Goals/Motivations/Dreams: Survival. More than anything Z has an overpowering need to survive, with a desire to live a good, free life coming only second. She fights to make her life easier in the long run, for the sake of those she likes, to make a lot of riches and to grow stronger.
  • History/Background/Bio: Zia's story is not one she shares easily... Indeed, she is more likely to tell cryptic leads and or completely false stories about their past. However, aside from numerous years of study, underground training and dealings, gold hoarding and some lazy sun bathing... Zia was born of a single egg left alone in the forest by the remaining dragons, where she was found and raised by a wise, old strong bear Naettir for the first years of her young life. Until then she was as any other child, innocent and full of promise. That is, until the Force of the regime, a demon party scouted out their home in the wilds. They both ran and ran, until her caretaker turned into a massive beast and charged at the demons to distract them from Zia. Thus, the little dragonling hid and saw how the mighty bear, such a strong creature engaged the enemy... and for all his power, how reliable and strong he had always been... he eventually was taken down before her very eyes. And Zia was able to survive... no matter how much they looked for her, she was like a leaf in the forest, blending in with every shadow and every tree trunk. She got all the vengeance she could get as in the second day of the search she managed to ambush and in a sneak attack kill and eat one of the demons. The experience was feral and deeply traumatic for the little dragon... it warped her view point as she could only now scoff at the strength of the mighty bear and glorify her own stealth. He died, she lived. He was a strong old fool... she was quick and cunning. That was why she lived. He was selfless... she was selfish. And that selfishness left her alive. Thus she forgot about him as much as she was able and took strength in her abilities as she decided to become stronger, to be able to survive and thrive no matter what.
  • Skills/Abilities: Over her years, Zia has taken part in quite an amount of crafts under a lot of Masters to refine her vision for her ideal self. While honing her body, she has avoided traditional strength as she has cultivated her agility, reflexes and sheer speed. Zia has also harnessed her species affinity with the dark arts to cultivate shadow/darkness based magic. With this, she has learned how to make a chameleon effect on her body as a dragon, move quietly, travel through shadows, create fields of pure darkness and manifest the shadows physically to wield them in battle among other affine skills. All of this has been coupled with expertise in wielding blades and knives to make her a fearsome assassin and rogue, expert in infiltration and taking down single targets when not running around and sneaking around.
  • Equipment: Little on their person but a cloak and light clothing, a lot of knives and short blades, vials for poison as well as a variety of thief tools.
  • Assets: Zia has accumulated a bit of wealth over the years. Not enough for a sustained living, but if she spent it all at the same time, she could afford some nice luxuries for a a bit of time. She have also made a lair for herself on a refitted and worked on cave on a nearby mountain. There she keeps her money in gold to sleep on it from time to time. Aside from this, she does have some avenues of communication and agents that while not working with her, do keep her updated on the comings and goings of the realm.

Well, this was fucking painful with how long it took.

Name: Victoria Durant (formerly Fuyuko)

Age: 44

Race: Snow Leopard (ex-Nættir); Infiltrator Cyborg

Alignment: Lawful Neutral (Anti-Villain)

Appearance(s): As a human, Victoria appears as a mid- to late-20's woman who has snow-white hair in a bob cut; big, slanted, green eyes; pale pink skin; flat eyebrows; and an oval face. Everything below her hips is mechanical, and her robotic right arm goes up to below the shoulder. She also has a mechanical right ear. There are signs of scars on her body, but they're most prominent on her right shoulder and stomach.

Personality/Behavior: While she used to be cheerful and carefree in her youth, Victoria now isn't often one for much words (although she likes to occasionally bark orders at her Bureau underlings to scare them for fun), often preferring to only be truly open with her twin brother, Stephen*

, and possibly a few long-term members of the Bureau guild. But while she's not talkative and can be patient—especially in some situations that normal humans would deem a bit chaotic—she is very much intelligent, can get hot-headed on certain subjects, is very driven towards whatever objective she's given, and is pretty much no-nonsense (and all pain-dishing) when getting into fights. She also has no qualms with protecting Bureau secrets, and subsequently trying to dig up ones potentially harmful to said guild, in whatever way is deemed practical and/or necessary, which has made her a good Infiltrator among the Bureau's ranks. She will also do the same regarding her (or her brother's) secrets—it's a goal of hers to not be known as one the best Cyborg spies in Milvallen, otherwise it would defeat the purpose of being one.

Likes/Dislikes:

  • Likes: Winter, night, reading, water, the stray cats that snuck into the Bureau headquarters one time (even if they caused a brief security scare), and fine clothing.
  • Dislikes: Anti-Cyber activists, perverts/rapists, homophobes, child abuse, losing a fight, the Nættir, the thought of having to get anymore non-weapons augmentations, capes, damage to her clothes (especially blood-related ones), and any other kind of "unprofessional" criminals*.

Racial Traits: While she and her brother have been forced to abandon the Nættir and can no longer be their true forms again, Victoria still has their abilities to shapeshift partially, has the heightened senses of a Snow Leopard, and the power of a Water Elemental, which grew to more full-on manipulation of water and ice after her spiritual connection to nature was severed*

, although it grows increasingly difficult to do so with the more water she attempts to control.

As an Infiltrator Cyborg, though, certain talents that she has as a Snow Leopard are enhanced with her Cybernetic augmentations: Having mechanical legs has increased her speed and agility, and in her left thigh, there's a powerful cloaking device that makes her invisible to all but other Cyborgs with certain (strong) eye augmentations and anyone who accidentally bumps into her*

; kicks and punches given through them are more heavy-hitting than an average human's; a device in her right arm allows her to hack other Cybrids; and a knife is hidden in her wrist, along with an emergency revolver in her arm. She also has a cybernetic right ear implant that has the capability of having private, longer distance communication with her brother, and public communication with necessary Bureau members.

Goals/Motivations/Dreams: Victoria isn't too fond of the chaos brought up by Keva's lack of laws, but coupled with her underlying resentment towards the Nættir, it's her goal to use the same anarchy he brought to her advantage by having Cyber Artists, Cyborgs, and Cybrids be seen as powerful, if not the greatest, races in Milvallen.

History/Background/Bio: Fuyuko was the younger twin born to two other elemental Snow Leopards—Dachen and Yuki, who came from separate lands outside of Milvallen—and lived much of her early childhood as one of the Nættir, learning how to use her Water powers with her brother's Air to bring rain for crops in Milvallen lands. At the age of eight, her little sister, Chiko, was born, and she immediately adored her.

When Fuyuko and Mida, her twin brother, were nine, though, while navigating a meadow and practicing turning into a humanoid form, they, their parents, and Chiko fell victim to an airship crash, killing the parents instantly, leaving Fuyuko and Mida in varying states of critical condition, and her being uncertain of where Chiko was. She and Mida were saved from death by a rogue Cyber Artist*

and healer in the area, who kept the two in a magical stasis. However, they woke Fuyuko up to be able to explain her and Mida's medical situations—how she would need amputations on three of her limbs, and how her brother's body was so beyond saving that his only hope was to have his brain moved to a robotic one—and to ask for her consent—and through her, Mida's—to have the necessary Cyber Arts augmentations put into them, warning her that the human parts they would create would force them in that form for the rest of their lives*. Having already lost her parents and possibly her sister, without thought, Fuyuko rashly consented to human augmentations, only thinking about saving her brother, but asked that they would wipe his memories so that he wouldn't risk having a severe mental crisis from waking up as a human-shaped Cybrid. Within a month, they had all of Fuyuko's new, basic—but still state-of-the-art—limbs completed and attached to her. The attachment of the augmentations, unfortunately, had the unintended side-effect of having much of her innate connection to nature cut off from her, leaving her near-catatonic in her shock, which lasted for about two weeks, during which she numbly participated in physical therapy to get used to the new limbs. After recovering somewhat, Fuyuko asked for permission to go back home to tell her fellow Nættir that she and Mida were alive—she wasn't sure if her detachment from nature was now permanent, so along with letting them know that they were okay, she wanted to see if joining them again would bring back at least some of her affinity to nature—and the Cyber Artist and healer reluctantly agreed after some insistence.

Once Fuyuko found the other Nættir, though, it didn't end well. When they saw that she looked like a human and had artificial limbs, they harshly ridiculed her for becoming "unnatural," and told her to leave them forever. In one moment, though, she saw Chiko walking near the group, alive and well, but before she could call out to her, a giant troll*

came up and drove her away within an inch of her life. She ended up running back to the Cyber Artist and healer, secluding herself from everyone except her still-comatose brother in order to deal with her grief, her new feelings of abandonment, and the emptiness that her nature affinity left behind. The healer, eventually, was able to get through to Fuyuko, suggesting to her that she and Mida would probably be best off adopting a human lifestyle, something that she solemnly agreed to do. Her first major step towards this was to change names, so when Mida finally had his brain transplanted to a Cybrid body and woke up with no memories of his past, she, under the suggestion of the Cyber Artist and the healer, abandoned "Fuyuko" and renamed herself "Victoria Durant," while she told Mida that his name was actually "Stephen Durant," and that the Cyber Artist and the healer, the Durants, were their adoptive fathers.

For eight years, Victoria and Stephen grew up under the Durants, who helped them to get educated in academics and Milvallen culture, while also traveling around the country to give occasional medical help. What really intrigued them, though, was when they learned that while the new "freedom" running amok on the land was causing lawlessness all around, it was an opportunity for Cybrids, Cyborgs, and Cyber Artists like them to come out of hiding, to establish a footing in this new, unstable society, and possibly become the new mightiest and most respected race in Milvallen in place of the Dragons. Victoria decided then to find a way to make this happen due to their abandonment by the Nættir, to show them that they could be a respected race in the world. She also realized that going after a goal like that gave her some feeling of purpose, and while it wasn't enough to completely fill the void in her, it was enough to make her especially driven to achieve that dream. Stephen, not knowing the reason why life felt almost completely empty for him without her—a subject that has, to this day, filled Victoria with much regret and guilt for making him that way—vowed absolute loyalty to her, and promised to help her achieve whatever goals she had.

Before leaving the Durants at the age of seventeen, though, Victoria and Stephen were offered to have their augmentations upgraded, and Victoria opted to have ones that would make her an Infiltrator, and both of them received augmentation to allow longer distance communication amongst themselves. They ended up moving to Salus, and while she didn't care for their utter devotion to Keva, they joined with the Bureau so as to contribute to the Cyber Arts cause to obtain and keep the title of top dog, helping to keep up the anarchy in order to do that.

However, Victoria had a soft spot for abandoned children and victims of abuse, and had a very low tolerance for murderers, rapists, and abusers, so she took advantage of the lack of laws to use those types of criminals as spying and killing practice (outside of what training she also received from the Bureau), and would give money to the destitute and the children in exchange for being her eyes and ears in the city, and as a show of good faith, has trained a few of them in self-defense. Supporting the destitute of Salus that way for more than two decades eventually paid off with a good number of the very poor liking, if not Cyber Arts users in general, her and Stephen, and having a few especially loyal spies join in a few other guilds.

Over the course of more than twenty years in the Bureau, Victoria and Stephen became fairly valuable agents in the guild, to the point that they were eventually one of the teams they often sent to spy on or assassinate potential high-threat targets in other parts of Milvallen. Victoria, however, often avoided getting them missions that would put them anywhere near Swampveil, because she knew the truth of the rumors regarding the place being a haven for order and the Nættir, and while she still detested them for how they treated her after the augmentations, she didn't know how a visit with them would go down, so she actively avoided any potential confrontations.

Skill/Abilities:

  • Speed/Agility: Victoria naturally had these skills since birth, but her speed and agility has taken an increase ever since receiving robotic legs, and thanks to her larger heart, can have more stamina to keep it up for a longer period of time.
  • Stealth: With help from her Cyber feet and her natural grace, Victoria has a good enough control of her movements to be stealthy while walking, something that's especially aided with her cloaking devices.
  • Water manipulation: Victoria can move water (and ice) to her whim, but mostly only in small amounts; If she were to try making a wave her size, she'd be more liable to pass out from exerting too much energy than anything else. However, in cases where subtlety is required and she's given the chance to concentrate, she can manipulate enough water to make her targets choke to death from the water in their throats.
  • Shooting: Her aiming with guns is decent enough, especially in emergencies when they're needed at all.
  • Acting: The constant lies she has to keep up with Stephen and the nature of her job has made her fairly good at deception, although she tries to keep this only to her work.

Equipment: Weapons-wise, Victoria has a hidden steel blade the length of her forearm that deploys from under her wrist, a revolver in the same arm, and a waterskin when traveling. Clothes depend on the circumstances, but she mostly makes a habit of wearing boots with rubber soles and non-loose (and often pricy) clothing.

Assets: The Bureau, her "homeless network" of spies in Salus, a few informants in other towns/cities, and Stephen's watchful eye.

(That's me sobbing in the distance.)

Name: Stephen Durant (formerly Mida)

Age: 44

Race: Snow Leopard (ex-Nættir); Sentinel Cybrid

Alignment: Lawful Neutral (Anti-Villain)

Appearance(s): Every bit of Stephen, except for this brain, is artificial: his entire body—which, at 5"8, is made to look slim, but fairly muscular—is robotic, and his fake short hair can change colors, although he chooses to keep it white most times. He also has a detachable medal back piece shaped like a backpack that can be placed over clothes and carries his four mini sentry drones. Head-wise, he has a pointed face with narrow blue eyes and flat (medal) eyebrows (adding up to a face that often unnerves people at first glance).

Personality/Behavior: Before becoming a Cybrid, Stephen used to be a playful, rambunctious, and slightly self-centered character. Now, though, he's often even more silent and serious than his twin sister, Victoria, and is very much protective of her, to the point that some of the few real BerserkButtons he has often involves some form of harm befalling her. Stephen's intelligent, very observant of his surroundings, and can get very obsessive with whatever he studies or with any tasks given to him. He's also very distrusting of anyone outside of his family, and his only true loyalty is towards Victoria, so much so that his only real motivation in life is to be of service to her in any way he can (something that makes him feel guilty when, on the very rare occasions, there's something that he wants to do for no real reason that he can explain).

Likes/Dislikes:

  • Likes: Helping Victoria; rain; snow; wind; flying*; nightly walks; efficient tools and weapons; and peace and quiet.
  • Dislikes: Harm towards Victoria; losing a fight or failing an objective; being manipulated; forgetting anything deemed important; the Nættir; brutes (especially brainless ones); large fires; and sleeping.

Racial Traits: As a Sentinel Cybrid, Stephen's vision and hearing are heightened considerably, his sight especially coming with great enhancements: they can zoom in and out; and with the aid of a transparent, deployable visor over his eyes, he can have infrared vision, follow—or "lock" onto—specific targets, and see what's in the line of sight of his nanomachines and mini sentry drones. Augmentations on his chest, forearms, and legs are used to create strong Deflector Shields, which can be used to protect himself (at the cost of his energy, something that can quickly go down if hit constantly by a great force), or can be detached and used to make a larger—but slightly weaker and stationary—force field*

.

Stephen's benefits aren't exclusive to his Sentinel abilities, though: with everything but his mind being robotic, he can lift the weight of an average human in one arm, survive higher falls and general damage*

, breathe underwater, be unaffected by toxins*, and give stronger blows when hand-to-hand combat is necessary. He also has better amount of agility that's uncommon in Sentinels, but this is only remnants of his abilities naturally inherited as a Snow Leopard. He was also granted a communication device that allows him to communicate at longer distances with Victoria and regularly with Bureau members.

Goals/Motivations/Dreams: Victoria's well-being is one of the few motivations that Stephen has in life, and much of his actions and decisions are based around that, although he privately wishes for the Nættir to suffer.

History/Background/Bio: Born as the older twin to Dachen and Yuki, Mida was an elemental Snow Leopard raised as a Nættir. Outside of his duties of using his Air powers with Fuyuko's Water to bring rain to the land, he spent much of his childhood being the playful, annoying brother in the family, something that didn't change that much when Chiko was born. He had a profound love for nature, especially for his treasured air, and an almost stronger infatuation with himself (although he did secretly care deeply for his family, especially his sisters—he just didn't make it well-known).

Then came a day when Mida and Fuyuko were in a meadow with their family, learning how to turn human, when they became victims of an airship crash. While their parents died, they were separated from Chiko, and Fuyuko suffered critical injuries while trying to save him, Mida body was broken and burned to the point of being completely unrecognizable, and would have most likely died if not for the intervention of a rogue Cyber Artist and healer who were nearby at the time.

When he woke up again, in a Cybrid body, it was with complete lack of knowledge of who he was, or where he was at, leaving him a little nervous in his groggy state and with an deeply unsettling feeling that something big was missing from him. He was quickly reassured by a white-haired girl who told him that he was "Stephen Durant," that she was his (also amnesiac) twin sister, "Victoria," and that they were the adoptive children of the Durants. Discovering that while this wasn't making him feel whole, this connection to her filled a good amount of the void that he was experiencing better than anything else, it lead him to believe that the best way to bring purpose to his life was to stick with his sister and aid her with whatever goals she had.

They stayed with the Durants for eight years, getting educated on the world outside of the Nættir and traveling from place to place*

. When they were seventeen, before leaving their adoptive parents, they were given the opportunity to have additional augmentations, and Stephen asked for Sentinel-based one, giving him his increased hearing and sight abilities, and obtaining his deflector shields. He also got his communicator that allowed him and Victoria to keep tabs on each other. When they moved to Salus* and joined the Bureau, he was also had his visor and nanomachines implanted, and received his mechanical pack that carried his mini sentry drones. It was when he got to the city, though, that Stephen began learning about and liking airships, and in spare time, he allowed himself to learn how to fly them, under the guise that it would be good knowledge to have in the future.

Then about twenty-one years into their service at the Bureau, Stephen became acquainted with Aryana Lucas, a clever, middle-aged (and non-Cyborg) records assistant to the organization, and they slowly became friends over the course of a year. Unfortunately, when he was beginning to think that he was in love with Aryana, it was revealed to the Bureau—by Victoria, in fact—that she was actually a Kitsune named Kim, and that she and another member were actually double agents working for the Nættir. The betrayal became especially painful for him during the interrogation before Kim's private execution*

, during which she admitted to being involved in recent information leaks and suspicious Bureau agent deaths, then proudly told Victoria that blasphemous Cyber Arts "scum" like them deserved to die.

Stephen didn't fully recover from the hurt that Kim left behind: even now, he's even more distrustful of outsiders than he used to be; he's ten times more driven at this job and with protecting his sister at all costs; and isn't against the idea of getting back at the Nættir for their disgust towards the Cyber Arts.

Skill/Abilities:

  • Observation: Increased hearing and eyesight, along with an obsession to pick up what he can, allows Stephen to assist in analyzing the situations of each mission.
  • Shooting: Stephen's job doesn't often require him to fire a weapon himself, but his drive to learn what he can has lead him to become a bit of a crack shot with guns.
  • Agility: An ability he has naturally due to his past upbringing.
  • Piloting an airship: A personal hobby of his, although there have been some instances where his decent flying skills have been put to good use in the field.
  • Swordsmanship: While it's enough that he can at least defend himself from a less-than-stellar fighter, his skill in sword fighting is still in the works.

Equipment: Stephen always has his nanomachines and sentry drones on hand or deployed, and often carries some kind of gun or rifle, depending on the situation. Clothes aren't necessary for him, but he usually wears them in order to appear "civilized."

Assets: The Bureau and the spies and informants that he shares with Victoria.

I'm fine with that, but I can't see Pally travelling around with Chiko. He mostly just sat in his forest back then.

Also, Stephen likes airships? Irony is cruel.

My new character is in the works by the way.

[up] Oh no, I read the Paladin's bio, I know he stays in Milvallen. I was working more on the assumption that this was before Chiko and her pack emigrated—I mostly implied that the Paladin, if he was there, just happened to be with them at some point, but didn't travel with them in order to keep at his duty.

lol, Earth and Air are often seen as opposites. I mostly made him like airships to show some remnants of his Air elemental blood.

And sorry if you ever mentioned it before, but cool, I'm curious as to what this character is gonna be. :D
