Pearl is a good choice for that PSA, being a liberated slave herself.

I like the running theme these have of going a level deeper and going meta with really hammering in the message. It could probably be written a little snappier, but the theme is good. Curious to see what Amethyst's PSA will be.

I think Amethyst's PSA would make more sense to be about depression and self-esteem.

"The Crystal Gems Say Be Anti-Racist" seems to be referring to the entire series of shorts.

I like how they allude to Edison's place in "narrow pool of white men the next century held up as geniuses" without getting too sidetracked by it. Granted, there are plenty of people who don't know or refuse to believe he was less an inventor than the CEO of an R&D firm (not to mention the other crappy things he did), but it's getting to be a bit of a dead horse.

I like how the "Did You Know?" title card pops up at the end like a fade in, only for Pearl to push it away and reveal it was a legitimate title card they put in front of the camera.

This sounds weird, but it bothers me way more then it should that in all that time that Pearl had the mirror we never find out what Rose thought of the mirror,I know it's likely intentional that they deliberately don't tell us so we can't blame Rose for not freeing Lapis (but we can still blame the others, kinda) but like ,to me it suggests Pearl kept it as a keepsake because it looked neat regardless if it was powered by a sentient gem or not

This was prompted by a tumblur post I saw,This one to be precise

How do you think the cast of Steven Universe would react to real life history?

I feel like making a pithy joke about how real life world dictators (of which there have been many throughout history) don't go through Heel Face Turns as easily as White Diamond (most of the time they just plain don't), but that wouldn't be particularly original.

Real life dictators also aren't immortal progenitors of their entire empire's species.

Their dynamic was also meant more as an abusive type family situation, which on a galactic scale ends up being just like a Dictatorship.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.

[up][up][up]Regardless, the idea of Steven trying to convince Hitler not to kill Jews makes for hilarious Black Comedy.

On a slightly more serious note, I can see the Gems being horrified by the amount of wars and conflicts in our world. Not to mention all the acts of mass murder motivated by pure hatred such as the Holocaust, 9/11, and the Rwandan genocide.

However they would be fascinated by our differences in geography and culture. I bet Steven would get a HUGE kick out of holidays like Christmas.

Moving on...

I'm surprised that despite music playing a major part in the show, we only got one rhythm game — one you can't even play legitimately anymore, at that.

A game based around music is probably harder to make because of getting rights to all the songs,I imagine so anyway

It's one reason why licensed games almost never have more than a little music from their source material.

True. But Stevonnie is a more iconic character (being the first canonically NB character in a western cartoon, and all).

It looks so fluid and beautiful! The talk about the process is super interesting, too.

...real weird hearing that outta Pilot Pearl's mouth though.

In hindsight, it's actually kind of weird that Steven made a song about Pearl and Amethyst forming a "Giant Woman". Asides from pronouns, Steven usually avoided directly applying gendered terms to Gems.
