Georgia Tech beat USC.
Since I'm a Bay Area native, and since Tech had been doing really shitty, I decided to also follow Stanford a couple weeks ago, and I could get used to this whole "beat USC" thing.
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterHonestly I don't care much for spots, but I was wondering if could use this thread to discuss the issues surrounding the welfare of student athletes in the American University system.
hashtagsarestupidThe Capone bowl is a rather exciting matchup between the Rum-Runners and the Enforcement Officers!
Seriously, what the hell are the bowl organizers thinking in making the #CapOneBowl twitter tag? Needless to say I'm not the only one having a laugh over this...
And yes, I am particularly grumpy about how the dynamics of College Athletics are going right now. I in fact made a thread about the state of it some time ago in the OTC.

I now go by Graf von Tirol.Well, so much for Northern Illinois being another Boise State...
RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE!
...Anyways, good college football action this week, what with Texas A&M hosting Alabama and all. Though, I actually don't care about that game, due to being an FSU fan, so I'm looking to see if famous jamies can repeat his performance in the opener against Pitt, and cement his place in the Heisman talk
Lane Kiffin fired from USC after 2nd loss to a PAC-12 team this year.
"I'm Commander Shepard, but I guess I'm now your therapist."Fitting end for a scumbag
Sponsorship potential if ever I saw one.
hashtagsarestupidUmmmm, I was sure FSU would beat Maryland, but 63-0?! What, did Maryland forget to field its team or something?
Eh, Georgia Tech beat Elon 70-0 to open up the season. I wish I had been able to watched it, but instead I just got a constant stream of notifications from my phone.
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterIt's one thing to clobber a cupcake by that margin, another thing entirely if the shut-out team happened to be ranked, even if Florida State itself is also ranked.

I now go by Graf von Tirol.Exactly(even taking into account maryland was only ranked in the 20s)
I miss being ranked :(
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterFeel free to feel good; my university has never been ranked and is going through yet another painful season.
But hey, at least I have the Washington Huskies to cheer for...
I now go by Graf von Tirol.Anyone got any potential Heisman candidates after 6 weeks of the season?
"I'm Commander Shepard, but I guess I'm now your therapist."Jameis Winston, natch
tons of upsets today
Holy shit, I was hoping the game would be good for FSU, but being up 20 at the half with a score of 27-7? Wow
Edit:ummm, I'm starting to wonder if clemson forgot to field their team or something, this is just embarrassing 41-7

and the game ended 51-14
This is why an inexplicably disappointing loss in college football is called "Clemsoning".
This loss was so embarrassing for Clemson, and huge for FSU, in fact, they're now ranked #2 in the BCS standings! time will tell if they can keep their slim margin, but hey, I'm all smiles right now
I'm just sitting like Shinji in the folding chair hoping that Arkansas can actually get some talent in the next coupla recruiting classes.
As a Wisconsin fan, Arkansas's woes are pure schadenfreude to me.
First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.Understandable. It's just amazing to me how thoroughly our program has lost its wheels. I'm at the point where A&M and Missouri are the only two SEC teams I'm interested in.

Well, with the marquee bowls on the horizon and after some discussion about bowls in the NFL Thread I suppose it would only be right to create a separate thread for it.
So how did your team do/how do you think your team is going to do in their bowl game?
