Dude, if you want a trope page for your band, go write it.
Mache dich, mein Herze, rein...No need to get snippy, man.
As I said, I just signed up here. I don't know HOW to make a page. Is there a tutorial anywhere?
There's info in Creating New Pages and How to Create a Work's Page. You'll want to put the article in Music.Murder By Death.
When I first started editing, I modeled my first few works pages after other articles that were well-formatted, looking at the source text (there's a button to view that above and below every article) to see the proper wiki syntax.
Thanks! I'll get right on it.
Another reason I made the topic is beyond just wanting to write a page for it, I figured since it's the music forum I'd plug MBD. I think they're great music a lot of people haven't stumbled onto yet, so it might help others find some stuff they like.
Been lurking for awhile, decided to finally sign up. Was sad to see there's no trope page for my favorite band!
So here's the rundown, since I figure the best thing I can do is pitch them a bit.
Murder By Death, formerly Little Joe Gould, is a western rock/indie band that can best be described as "Johnny Cash meets Radiohead." With an extremely distinctive sound, ranging from raucous barroom brawling tunes to disturbingly dark, melodic instrumentals, MBD exercises incredible range within their genre, mixing in folk and country influences regularly. Thanks to Adam Turla's flexible vocals and Sarah Balliet's creative cello play, they have incredibly versatility within their increasingly flexible genre. They also have an increasing reputation for almost every one of their songs telling a cohesive story, to the point where one of their entire albums recounts the tale of the Devil waging war on a village in Mexico.
Here's a few links to their stuff to get the ball rolling.

"I Came Around" is from their latest album, Bitter Drink, Bitter Moon. It's about a man going to the funeral of a rival he hates, only to find that he may not have been such a bad person after all. I like this song because it really exemplifies the "rock" side of their style while still maintaining their distinct sound.

This is Good Morning, Magpie - a beautiful folk-influenced song that shows their softer side.

And finally, this is Pillars of Salt, which shows just how -haunting- they can be. Unsettling in the best way.
