Welp, if US goes down, Koreas will probably go down with it. XD
Or not, because my president has spent this whole year building and strengthening ties with other Asian and European countries.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Eh I'd rather not "strengthen" out ties with nations like Russia, China and Saudi Arabia right now. Diplomacy yes, overt friendly behavior like the kind the 45th is currently providing? No.
Anyone here do joint projects? I'm wondering how much you could usually pay for 2 minutes of computer animation, (flash-style stuff).
METAL GEAR!?Bloody Hell, Castlevania 2nd season was amazing and a perfect thing to binge at this time of the year.

I should really get around to subscribing to Netflix already.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Speaking of, I'm tired of dealing with shitty people, so I'm gonna spend my Halloween in, playing Shadow Of The Colossus and watching Blade II.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyAnd the Midterm begins in few hours!
Oh God, this is going to be so fun, in a black comedy sense.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. How are things in Korea? Are mid-terms looking so bad?
"Noh you can't vote here without a state issued ID even if you have a voter registration card." Go down to the registrar's office. "Huh? Of course an out of state ID is fine. Who told you that?"
Thanks old lady at the voting place for wasting half an hour of my time.
Don't all citizens has some kind of national ID?
Noh Americans hate the idea so we don't get a national ID card. Instead we have a social security number which is used for the same purpose but is worse and also rather vulnerable to being stolen.
Sometimes I'm amazed you guys managed to form a functioning society.
I'm not certain that there's a clear consensus behind the idea that their society is functioning.

"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."Yeah I don't think our society is actually functioning right now? The past two years have been... eventful.
Also, some states won't accept student photo ID cards from government colleges and universities... but will accept gun licenses.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyHow are things in Korea? Are mid-terms looking so bad?
I was referring to the US midterm, actually. But since you asked, well, Korean equivalent of midterm already took place in July, with an unprecedented victory for progressive party.
It would be a subject of utter rejoice, but in the process one of the provincial governors, in charge of the biggest province and pretty much similar to governor of California, revealed to be an absolute scumbag. He was convicted of four crimes, including impersonating a prosecutor, DUI, appropriation of state funds, etc.
In addition to convicted crimes, there are also very heavy suspicions that he forcibly shoved his brother into a mental hospital, where he died. And worst of all, there are pretty solid evidences that he is actually associated with an international mafia.
Yeah you heard it. A governor with mafia ties. I mean, far better than the daughter of dictator/Japanese traitor/mass murderer who is controlled by a fairy cult leader becoming a president, but still.
Oh and there's the bit of feminists almost about to start a gender civil war, government giving a massive finger to current Japanese administration, North Korea and South Korea more or declaring the end of the Korean War, etc. I might get to that later.
To sum, it's a fun time to be interested in the domestic politics for me.
Now enough of a small country talk, let's get to the US midterm!
So, GOP keeps the Senate while Democrats reclaims the House. Pretty much just as most expected, more or less.
@Arha - Huh. That's interesting. Here everybody carries both driver's license (if they have it) and national ID card.
@Wander - That's...very telling all right.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.I'm surprised you even have gun licenses. I though you just buy guns in Wallmart or something.
Not to diss your country but sometimes it seems like you guys only have good reputation in the world because you're standing next to North Korea.
You can't just say that and not elaborate.
Whats new?
Finally some good news.
You can buy guns in Walmart, yes. Not assault rifles anymore though.
And the license is to certify that you have a legal right to walk around with your gun concealed on you. (not that the US actually treats that right equally; the US has plenty of cases of people being arrested or killed just for exercising that right, and Trump has called for unconstitutionally harassing black people for even potentially exercising it...)
As for election results, it was a mixed bag. Women's equality had some gains, including the first Native American and Muslim women (national) representatives in history, and many other firsts. However, white supremacists still held on to a lot in some key elections.
Also, there's plenty of corruption in American political history, unfortunately many of the worst cases are able to avoid jail because of wealth and connections.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyDouble win: A composer for Dragon Ball Z won a state election against the incumbent, a car salesman who yells at children for rightfully disagreeing with his attempts to leave poor families behind on education and who wants to make it even harder for people to vote.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI mean, being a car salesman should be enough to bar someone from positions of authority all on it's own.
Well, if a reality tv show host can be a president...
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Neither do Brits. They like walking around with no bloody proof of identity.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerThat is absolutely crazy to me
Your driver's license generally serves the same purpose, or so I assume. Except not everyone has one.
So, USA just fucked then?
I hope you don't drag the rest of us down with you.
