The angle I've heard they're going to take is that the cartoon was an in-universe propaganda piece and was nothing like what actually happened.

I'm kind of wondering if these writers just straight-up hate the source material. The girls are resentful of their past as heroes, the fun, exciting adventures are all lies.

Why can't showrunners ever embrace the spirit of a cartoon when making these "sequels"?

Hopefully I'm wrong about this and it all turns out okay, but the pre-release info is already giving me a very bad impression about this series.

A trademark has been filed by CN for something titled 'Powerpuff World'

[up]I'm going to guess it's an advertising line, presumably a way of separating traditional PPG from the live-action show. Even if the first draft was rejected, I think everyone expects the show to get on the air in some form regardless, so it's probably for the best to separate the original show from the LA show.

[up][up][up] Probably because network executives these days think that everyone likes cynical, dark, broody stuff that "subverts expectations" because Game of Thrones turned the whole medieval fantasy genre on its head.

Of course, they also forget that dramatic departures from pre-established characters and "subverting expectations" also made the last season of that show utter ass.

[up]A lot of thing result in last season, one of that was rushing stuff and simulatniously be crowd pleasing and try to be diferent.
