I suppose it depends on whether or not someone has to be born with it, or if it can potentially go into any living Eldian.

They've explicitly stated if the host dies, a baby is born with the power. So yeah, that poor kid would only live to be 12 - 13 years old. It seems like there's some way to test for it, since Marley was actively searching for a newborn Female or Colossal Titan.

Not gonna lie, that chapter was very cathartic (seeing how much I hate Zeke). I'm kinda hoping Floch eventually suffers a similar punishment.

Also, the 3 titans that were escorting Zeke... I wonder what they were doing far from the others' location, and why they were in such unique positions (the smaller one looked like a crying young girl, and one other looked like he was jogging). I'm thinking they were bystanders he had somehow poisoned as well.

I suspect there were soldiers guarding the entrance of the forest or something.

…That reminds me that it's been a while since the last time we saw normal titans in ridiculous poses. tongue

The Titans climbing up the trees like it was nothing was scary as hell though. I am pretty any other soldier but Levi would of been freaking out and gotten killed horribly there.

It really makes me wonder if a royal blood controlled titans is scary as hell now then what did people in the past think when royale blood controlled titans showed up?

I finally got around to reading the chapter.

Good stuff, but seriously,

FUCK. FLOCH.

Looking through past pages, I find it interesting how people were talking about Gray-and-Grey Morality with the warriors and stuff when I really don't think that was the case.

But now that we're getting to the actual end, I still don't really think it's truly gray on gray, but things might be getting there.

The series definitely likes to start making the waters muddy, after you THINK you know the bad guys are just evil. The Warriors were brainwashed children desperately trying to save their people and thought they were saving the world. The 1st Brigade believed their actions were the only way to protect the fragile peace within the Walls, and safeguard the last of humanity. Kruger believed his actions were necessary for the eventual salvation of the Eldian people. Even the Yeager Faction believes they are doing is the right thing, and view the government the way we saw the government during the Uprising arc.

Ultimately, it's all about how everyone is stuck within their own narrative and can't understand others.

Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy is beginning to set in for me. There's such absolutely terrible people on all sides at this point that I'm not sure I care which one wins, because no matter what innocents are going to suffer.

I'm still more on the Eldians' side (though not necessarily the Yeager Faction) because Marley is just unforgivably evil with the way they treat the Eldians under their rule, but that's slipping...

It all depends on what the hell the Yeager brothers are really up to (and whether they are really working together or at cross-purposes).

I'm just realizing that the Warriors are the ones with the best tool to get Annie out of her crystal: they just have to bust in to wherever she is and have Porco very carefully chew or cut his way through.

Should be easier now that both the Yeager faction and Eldia are distracted.

It was also shown that the Jaw Titan's claws do the trick. Also if the Warriors showed up at Annie's crystal who's to say she wouldn't just get out herself right then.

I mean I assume she can get out by herself.

Full opening theme of Season 3:

I kinda wish they kept a bit of the last part for the anime version, because it's beautiful.

Was there ever anything about the Warriors finding it weird that Ymir was named Ymir? Because that seems like the kind of thing they'd find weird; I imagine that name would be one of the things erased from the collective memory of the people within the walls.

Might depend on if they knew about the Ymir cult our Ymir was part of. That or they thought they Walldians might well name their children after their matron saint.

Levi's gonna need a lot more than one bottle of bleach if he wants to get Zeke's everything out of his uniform.

Leaks for 114 have been uploaded.

    Leaked Chapter Details
  • Zeke tells Levi about his childhood. He mentions that he sold out his parents as revolutionaries to the previous Beast Titan, who is referred to as a "scholar". He also got good at throwing from playing catch with the scholar.
  • Zeke sets off a thunder spear and is gibbed. Levi is caught in the explosion and is maimed, but it's unclear whether or not he died.
  • Zeke wants to make sure the subjects of Ymir don't have any more children.
  • Zeke, his parents, the scholar, and Levi are the only characters.

More details:

  • Zeke's childhood was shit, between his parents treating him as a tool and consistently being dead-last in everything. We see a young Magath screaming at him to quit, because he's useless and doesn't want to be there.
  • Tom Xaver, the previous Beast Titan, was a research working for the institute. He takes an interest in young Zeke, and begins playing catch with him. He reveals that he once concealed his heritage and married a Marleyan woman — she killed their son and herself after learning the truth. He became a Warrior because he wanted to study the Nine Titans as closely as possible. He recognized a similar keen intellect and drive in Zeke.
  • Zeke fights with Grisha over how he's putting the entire family in danger and it's his fault Aunt Faye died. Afterwards, he confesses the truth to Xaver. He convinces Zeke the only way to save himself and his grandparents is to give his parents up.
  • As a teen, Zeke is told Xaver's theory about the Founding Titan's ability to alter the very bodies of the Eldian people. There was once a plague that nearly wiped out humanity — the Eldian empire survived, because the King used their power to grant the Eldians resistance and allowed them to survive. Zeke wonders if the same power could be used to prevent the birth of new Eldian children.
  • Zeke tells Levi that salvation for their people is Euthanasia. He claims that he saved everyone that died at Wall Maria, because he released them from the cruelty of the world. Only death can save their people. Zeke then yanks out the pin and there's an explosion, with a bloody Levi hurled through the air with his cloak making it impossible to evaluate his injuries.

Yeah Eren is defintely using him.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.

I feel like they're using each other, and it's therefore a question of how exactly the Founding Titan works.

Zeke probably hasn't revealed his genocidal intentions to Eren, and is instead simply playing on the whole "Founding Titan can alter Eldian genes" thing. Eren is likely counting on that to destroy the Titans in some manner, or otherwise break the Curse.

It's just a matter of which one of them would have more control over the power when using it. Zeke has royal blood and superior knowledge, while Eren is the primary host and likely has some knowledge from memories. Who has the stronger control of the power when it's used?

Either way, brothers are going to clash sooner or later when their real intentions are revealed.
