Indeed. Even the one portion of the game where was actually vital to the plot was just a way to introduce us to a stupid minigame that would most likely drain all of your money.
Eh, perhaps. But there were way more pointless diversions in the original Star Wars trilogy, and the vast majority of side quests in KOTOR are optional.
Graffiti. My. Page. due eet naoSwoop racing was finicky, awkward and didn't even work half the time.
Not Three Laws compliant.Pazaak is way better. :P
PURE PAZAAK
Yeah I sucked at Pazaak. Even with a pimped out deck I'd get owned.
I didn't really enjoy Pazaak despite playing the hell out of it. Mostly your reward was either credits (which aren't that hard to come by) or more Pazaak cards (which, once you've gotten all the cards you want in your deck, are pretty worthless). If there were better rewards, maybe lightsaber crystals or other unique items...
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Oh yeah, speaking of the crystals, whenever able I would always go for red, regardless of which alignment I was going for XD
Graffiti. My. Page. due eet naoSwoop racing only drained your money if you didn't Save Scum. I just went through that in kotor 2.
I'm trying to negotiate the best solution to dealing with the leadership of the Exchange on Telos. When Luxa and Slusk have their confrontation, I've tried two different branches through that conversation tree, and both ended up in me having to kill Luxa, but then Slusk gives you no more favors aside from a pledge to leave the Ithorians alone, whereas influence with the Exchange would both solve the problem with the Twi'lek slave-girl, and possibly with the Duros Droid-mechanic (who is needed for solving the Ithorians' problems).
Should I side with Luxa, then? Is she more inclined to help you than Slusk?
Luxa betrays you no matter what.
I like the Yavin IV DLC. Two new lightsaber color crystals.

I thought orange and purple looked the coolest.
Damn. Having an ally on the Exchange seems like what they would want you to do to solve a couple of those. In fact, with The Exchange wiped out, paying 2000 credits (which is about the sum of your revenue at this point in the game) for the one Twi'lek seems to be the only solution they offer, but you're going to need that money for the droid mechanic's debts...

Oddly, I had Bastila keep her father's Holocron, and I can't get anymore dialog from her that isn't "Tell me about this planet" or "Show me a vision". I luckily had a save file from earlier in Tatooine and just reloaded that. I'll just let the mother have the Holocron this time. Still hadn't have Lena show up for Mission's quest to get Griff either.
That just reminds me that i missed like 75% of the first game's content because i never bothered to talk to my teammates (since I assumed the game would tell me when I needed to)
Probably wouldn't pop out as much as orange and blue would.
...sorry, got the hyperlink referencing disease. I think it's contagious.
And yeah, I think that was just to encourage you to do that sort of thing once in a while, if you weren't that kind of RPG player. If you took the time to talk with Carth all the way through his conversation series before you got to the Leviathan, and talked with him after, it's definitely a Crowning Moment Of Character Development.

Graffiti. My. Page. due eet naoCoincidentally, the endgame crystals you can buy from the Yavin station shop in the first game make the lightsaber blade red-orange and light blue.

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Yeah, the Exchange doesn't do "allies" exactly. It does "resources" and "liabilities" as well as "goods" with "good" in this case being "Jedi head on a silver platter" because you can get a lot of cash quick for those. Supply and demand, and Jedi are in short supply.
Really, the side quests don't really help. By the time you get to the Star Forge you're maxed out anyway. I think it's only good for money and whatnot.
They're good for interesting side stories and character development, which is kinda what Bioware's known for.
Graffiti. My. Page. due eet naoSo I finally started playing KOTOR one again and... well... am I right in assuming that guns are just plain inferior to sabers damage wise? For bosses and more powerful enemies, using a gun seems akin to playing hard mode. The Mandalorian leader wasn't the first time I was totally unable to win unless I equipped a sword of some kind, and somehow I doubt it will be the last.
Also, I'm glad the Dantooine temple waives the "you can't proceed if any of your party members are down, unless you defeat your opponent" bit temporarily. That rule has resulted in so many unwinnable situations for me, I swear...

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Hella fun navigating my way through the latter phase of the Telos Citadel. I had resolved to throw my lot in with the Ithorians, but then i felt the need to go at moneymaking, thinking I needed to raise cash to pay off the Duros' debts and get the Twi'lek slave girl out of her predicament. Turned out I just had to ask the Ithorians for the cash to get the Duros to go with their scheme, when I ended up doing some shady smuggling runs (stopping before the last job, as i discovered that I could not get the TSF to believe I was working undercover, and would have had to kill a lot of them rather than that one officer who tried to stop me snagging the medical supplies). So I accrued some Dark Side doing some smuggling, let that sidequest lie before i got in too deep, and balanced the karma by freeing the slave (with the money made from smuggling).
Now, at last, seems to be time to return to the surface and reclaim the Ebon Hawk and T3-M4, and find out about that chick that i'm beginning to suspect is this "Handmaiden" i've heard of.
Only thing I hate with the KOTOR app is the space battles. You can't move the turret and fired at the same time.
Oh yeah, she's one of my favorites ^^
Also, everyone in the game can be a Jedi. Just saying.
Well, except for two companions,
The swoop racing was a pointless diversion.
