She's alright, but she's no Cookie Monster.
I loved Call Me Maybe when I first heard it, but I didn't bother to look up the rest of her music afterward.
It wasn't until her duet song "Good Time" with Owl City that I decided to look the rest of her discography up. It's all good, but not really as catchy as Call Me Maybe.
Also, I suppose I should restate that I take pop music for what pop music is; over produced music that's built to sell singles. I understand that. That doesn't mean I can't like it.

ADHD? Bitch please, those are battle instincts!I just heard you / This may sound crazy / But please stop singing / Your song is lazy
When I first heard this song, it was at 1 AM, one of my classmates was dancing naked and I immediately thought that I had traveled to the Hunger Games universe somehow, because it seriously sounded like a song that you would hear in the Capitol.
My opinion has not changed.
Is that a good thing?
Peace is the only battle worth waging.I really don’t get why such a mediocre song has such a crazy fandom.
And, call me cynical, but I’m convinced the lyric meme was started by her PR people as a blatant attempt at viral marketing.
Confirmed Bachelors: the dramedy hit of 1883!That's pretty much what Todd In The Shadows said.
And I agree with him on that. Quite frankly, I never liked the song from the minute I first heard it. The chorus is catchy but annoying. The rest of the words (once I found out what they were after actually listening to them) make no damn sense and are really just filler for the song. "Before you came into my life I missed you so bad"? How the hell can you miss someone before you even knew they existed—that makes absolutely no sense and whoever wrote the lyrics to this inane song should feel bad and repent greatly. Plus, while the chorus is catchy and vibrant (if extremely annoying), the rest of the song is tuneless and just really boring (though I guess you don't have to care about anything but a catchy chorus to have a hit these days...makes my aspiration to be a songwriter someday seem so much more fruitless).
The worst part, though? Carly Rae Jepson was a Canadian Idol finalist a few years ago (even if she didn't win and didn't break through the charts until now). So, basically, her hit more or less further vindicates the existence of the Idol franchise.*
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.IMO, the only good artists to have come out of American Idol all went to country. I'll take even Bucky Covington over some of the winners.
Well, seeing as you're a huge country fan, I think you might be a bit biased there I'd say Kelly Clarkson's made quite a few good if not great songs. I know that "Since U Been Gone" and "Breakaway" are two songs that have made their way into permanent rotation for me, and I like "Because of You" a lot. But, then, she was the first one the show popped out, and she stands out in a lot of other different ways from other later contestants.

Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Clarkson does indeed have a few good songs, but her output lately hasn't done much for me. "Mr. Know It All" got releaed to country, and I thought it was just okay. I also agree with a lot of Todd's comments on "Stronger".
"Call Me Maybe" is amazing A+ 10/10 best pop song of the year
"Good Time" is incredibly mediocre but I blame Owl City for that
http://www.last.fm/user/TRILLHOUSE_Call Me Maybe is just average. The real reason I hate it is because it's so overplayed, otherwise, I wouldn't mind it's existence.
If you wanna PM me, send it to my mrsunshinesprinkles account; this one is blorked.I dislike it because it's just so giggly preteen tee-hee cutesy, but the singer's 26. It might not be so bad if she were like 14, but freakin' 26?! Come on.
Wait, what?

It's one thing to make a spectacle. It's another to make a difference.Late twenties is the new 13.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. What do you guys think of "Curiosity"?
Peace is the only battle worth waging. The voice is turning me off. Don't know why, but it just is...
If you wanna PM me, send it to my mrsunshinesprinkles account; this one is blorked."Curiosity" is quite good but I find the key change really jarring and not at all natural.
http://www.last.fm/user/TRILLHOUSE_Again, see Todd in the Shadows' review. He says pretty much my opinion on the song.
Love that guy.
If you wanna PM me, send it to my mrsunshinesprinkles account; this one is blorked. What do you guys have to say about Ms. Jepsen's hack scandal (the link's contents are identical to those of the now-defunct TMZ article)?
