  • Name: Conner Kent, Kon-El
  • Real Name: "Project Superboy"
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: A few week, months, looks like a teen
  • Appearance: Plus shoulder length hair
  • Alignment: Good / Anti-Hero

Description:

After the "Bizzarro" incident, it proved unfeasible to directly clone a Kryptonian. The work in mutant psychokinetics and genetics by one [REDACTED] proved to hold potential to the government. With [REDACTED] heading the project and using the schematics, data and research of the failed "Sentry" project, the Superboy was formed.

Using the genetics of powerful mutant telekinetics with Superman's Kryptonian DNA inserted at key points, the Kryptonian/Mutant hybrid proved to have many of the same powers as Superman was granted by his own tactile telekinesis, duplicating his speed, strength, durability, senses and flight, albeit to significantly retarded degree. It was noted he had the potential of further growth and possibly expanding his power set in a different direction.

Learning from the mistakes of the past, the overseers focused on the Superboy's mental conditioning before teaching him military tactics. It was decided to model him after Superman except with the caveats of their choice, such as a willingness to kill and a fervor to a cause which was hoped to eventually be turned to Americano centric views. However, even this first portion of his development was not allowed to be complete.

The project was put to a forceful end by military forces. The exact details are classified, such as which side was the rogue force, but the Superboy was released in the confusion and both sides fearfully tried to put him down. The resulting slaughter brutally ended the lives of dozens of men and the Superboy escaped.

Homeless and confused, Superboy sought the genuine article to complete his 'training'. Disturbed by the boy's tale, from his creation to his escape, told in stark emotionless detail as a soldier delivers a debriefing, Suerpman was heartened by his willingness to learn differently, taking the directive against killing as stoically as he took any order and fervently devoting himself to the cause of truth, justice and the pursuit of happiness.

Despite his soldier-like demeanor, Conner grows his hair long. This more has to do with a lack of attention to such a detail than anything else while Supermean deems not to notice, chalking up as much as he can to normal teenage behavior. Otherwise, in an attempt to try to fit in with Superman's more lighthearted side, Conner attempted to develop a sense of humor. It has largely proven to be inappropriate but it makes him so gosh darn happy.

This, of course, means that we'll need to have a Bizarro storyline at some point.

Noted and Reserved, God of Awesome. I'll give you a shout when it's feasible for Superboy to exist.

Meanwhile, would you consider adopting another character while you wait?

Not just Bizzaro, but also Marvel Superman Pastiche The Sentry, whose origin story involves trying to make a Super Serum to grant powers akin to Superman.

Speaking of which, there are quite a number of Superman-esque characters in a combined Marvel/DC Universe, especially counting what Milestone and Wildstorm add to it.

My idea was combining Sentry and Bizarro, the former was his code name, the latter the nickname he got from the media. That part can be cut out if you feel like it.

  • Name: Darwin, the Evolving Boy
  • Real Name: Armondo Munoz
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: Late Teens
  • Appearance: From the Marvel Wiki
  • Alignment: Good
  • Personality: Before his manifestation, Armondo was cautious and shrewd, very active, a man of action and few words but quite humble with a good grasp of his limitations. He was also quite the lady's man, using an aura of cute but complicated to reel in the women. However, Darwin has become one of those mutant who let his powers define him. He is fearless and brash, very lazy, wuick to loose his tongue and extremely arrogant. His current appearance, as well as a slight caustic personality, cripples his romantic prospects. Occasionally, the old Armondo shines through.
  • Powers and Abilities: From the Marvel Wiki Darwin's mutation is in a state of continual reaction, adapting to whatever his current situation demands. For example, if placed in total darkness his eyes automatically adapt to allow him to see; if underwater he grows functioning gills; if exposed to fire his body becomes fireproof; if falling, his bones soften & his body elasticizes to cushion his landing; or if exposed to the void of space, he stops requiring oxygen & the density of his skin & internal structure increase. His mutation's adaptivity seems limitless; however, he lacks conscious control*, & his adaptations are purely instinctive. Thus far, Darwin's mutation has not displayed any capacity for generating energy beyond converting his physical form into same. It has also afforded him a genius-level intellect, & he has shown the capacity to learn new skills & languages with only limited exposure.
  • Weapons and Equipment: Whenever he gets the chance, Darwin prefers the usage of items that make full utilization of his powers, things normally dangerous to their user or things used in a way that would be dangerous that he can use without much worry.
  • Origin: His dad came out and his mom took him away, using justice system of conservative south to her advantage. She was resentful and raised her son to be resentful of him too, although more so of being abandoned then being gay. He tried to make his mother happy, by doing well in school and by becoming popular but he was too much like his father. Armondo continued to be active in what he felt was right or wrong and ended up getting into a particular violent fight defending a gay kid at his school. His power manifested to defend him from some particular grievous and lethal wounds and he was out of the closet as a mutant. His mother rejected him and he had to move in with his dad in a farther off part of the country up north. He still held resentment toward his dad though, compounded by the stress of his current predicament. It's only a matter of time before his dad uses some connections to send him off somewhere like Xavier's or he strikes out on his own.

Eh, that's fine with me. Sentry's kind of a stupid character anyway. "Oh, I impress Doctor Strange with my Psychic abilities, can take down Thor in one punch, can calm down The Hulk, and can get it on with Rogue." He deserves to be Bizarro'd out of existence.

[up]Oh.......I know to make the transition even WORSE..........

Have the Sentry start are out as this perfect boyscout type who's perfection makes him an arrogant douche to other heroes, but then his genetic make-up starts to break down, making him more and more uglier and his mind more and more gone until he becomes Bizarro, a backwards thinking destructive idiot incapable of proper speech. For us, the players, he'll be our own personal Chew Toy, and in-universe, while illiciting pity, NO ONE will sympathize with him.

It'll get to the point where he'll become a Death Seeker and makes various plans that involve killing himself, which are either too stupid to work, always leaves out his own invunerability as a factor, and/or big enough to attract the heroes to whoop ass and throw him back to jail, many of whom too weak or have no killing policies, so he's always denied death's sweet release.

I was thinking genetic instability leads to the development of the Void personality early on, called that by him and by the top secret psyche reports, but everyone else knows it as the blonde Bizzaro Superman who kept wrecking shit one second and saving people the next.

Edit: A further regression, if he survives, is that the pressure on his mind snaps his brain in half and he regresses into a Psychotic Manchild actually calling himself Bizarro.

You know, the more you guys talk about scenarios like these, the more I start sympathizing with all of those "villain protagonist" anti-heroes who cut the bullshit and get the job done for once.

And That's Terrible.

An anti-hero tries to get the job done on Sentry and fails but the stress of the attempt is what finally caused him to snap.

Armondo: Accepted. You can join the game itself next game day, which shouldn't be too far away now. In the meantime, feel free to enter the discussion thread and interact with your new peers!

Also, I'm seriously considering incorporating all this Sentry/Bizarro stuff into canon here.

Sebastian Shaw is our first male mutant PC. Just because he isn't an X-Men member doesn't mean he's not a mutant.

I don't know, you'd have to ask Liz.

Mas falando sério, porque você tem uma frase não-traduzida do grande Machado de Assis em um fórum que fala principalmente inglês?

Hmmmmm...Now isn't that an interesting question?

See the thing of it is, Venom is really a character whose origin is inexorably intertwined with Spider-Man. We do have a Spider-Man, currently under my control, and I would really like to see Spidey wear the black suit before passing it on to Eddie Brock.

One way we could do it is to have you play as Eddie, and build him up a bit, maybe give him a less petty reason to be a villain, and also have Spider-Man swinging around in the black suit. Then after a little while, we have the ol' belltower scene and Venom's officially in business.

That is an interesting alternative. I'm willing to try it.
