It is funny that every time Ultron tries to make someone to like him they instantly hate him

That's not so much funny as it is.....very telling of the kind of person Ultron is.

Then again, he's Hank's hidden misanthropy, so maybe it's not a shock since Hank kinda hates himself too....you know, when you forget the time he beat the Masters of Evil on his own and then promptly pulled himself together again.

The thing about Hank is that doing a superhero good wasn’t ever going to fix his life and make him happy

But he winds up having contentment for more periods than Ultron does. Because the ability to tamp down the misanthropy and compromise with other people meant that for most of his life Hank has had people who like, love, and care about him

He hasn’t had an easy life and in a lot of ways he’s his own worse enemy between the bad decision junction and Ultron literally being the worst aspects of himself manifest in an unpunchable form but having people in your life isn’t nothing

That's fair enough. Like, he turned his life into a massive trash fire, but for a while there, Hank was able to pull himself together and earn back some self respect.

He even managed to make peace with Jan. Like, even when everyone else dunks on him, I don't think Jan has ever been as rough on him as she could, though she's made it clear their relationship is never coming back....outside of being friends with benefits.

Of course, there's the ultimate challenge for Dr. Pym, can he move on? Arguably Ultron's greatest fault is that he can't, that his machine brain forces him to be in that state of eternal arrested development.

I just now realized Doctor Doom could fit pretty well in the Augus role as the guy purely motivated by a good fight.

Also what was up with those Wasteland comics set in the Old Man Logan universe?

Ultron is the Psychopathic Manchild version of SKYNET...though I suppose it'd be more accurate to say SKYNET is the Flat Character version of Ultron

Wait why is Hawkeye considered a joke because he uses a bow and arrow while Kate Bishop doesn't have that memetic loser rep despite being an archer same as him?

Because no one knows who Kate Bishop is outside of comic fans? Meanwhile Hawkeye was seen outside of comics as far back as his early 90s arcade outings.

I think Kate also benefits from being young, so being a weirdo running around with a bow and arrows is kinda just cuter in her case. And, you know, never underestimate the value of being a cute, cool girl.

But yeah, mostly Clint gets more flack because he's famous, a decent number of people who mock him aren't familiar with Kate. (Not yet, anyway. Her TV debut is coming! But she'll be played by Hailee Steinfeld, who is awesome, as opposed to the boring loser who is Jeremy Renner, so MCU Kate will still get a lot less shit that MCU Clint. Again, the advantage of being a cute, cool girl.)

The MCU just had to base Clint off of Ultimate Clint.

Plus Kate has primarily done street level stuff, where “good at bow” is less outclassed than with Avengers level threats.

Nah, Doctor Doom lacks the hedonism that defines Augus.

Doctor Doom instead is driven by the need to prove he is the smartest person in the room.

Though in Avengers of the Wasteland it turns out Doom's grand plot was to engineer a final epic battle against the Avengers so he could die a glorious death.

It also helps that her skills are not limited to just archery. People forget that she also has unarmed combat skills, plus training with swords and a staff. Plus, I think Jessica Jones gave her some PI training.

I mean, Hawkeye’s skills aren’t limited to archery either

He’s also got skill in carnival games and cheating at carnival games

But seriously, he used different weapons as Ronin

Hell being Ronin basically means he’s a ninja who knows how to use a katana.

And is one of the few people that can handle Cap's shield. And has had several identities over the years.

And anyone who is ever on the Avengers with Cap has unarmed combat skills because Cap loves teaching people judo and such
