Well I suppose the members of a YJ type team-show would depend on the context. Are they attending the Avengers Academy, learning how to be the next generation of heroes? Or are they like the Young Avengers, inspired by the previous generation and striking out on their own? Or are they like the New Warriors, just a ragtag bunch of teenagers brought together by a sense of justice (and a benevolent millionaire)?
Depending on the scenario, you could have any number of mash-ups.
This is true.
The formation of both the titans and the comics YJ (and as such their animated counterpart) is shaped at least in part by their connection to their mentors (the original titans were formed to combat their mind controlled seniors, and the original YJ came about as a result of the World without grownups event where they had to step up due to...well a lack of grownups).
But as you've pointed out, there's a wider list of context to the formation of Avengers Academy, Young Avengers and the New Warriors. There may also be a wider list of teen heroes as a result.
And I'm still deliberately leaving out the mutants as well...and the Runaways, but they aren't really a traditional hero team.
If Marvel tried it, they'd have a ridiculous wide variety to choose from.
One Strip! One Strip!I'd go with Avengers Academy, since it's a pretty simple concept to wrap your head around, and can easily incorporate more and more characters (much like YJ branched out into Outsiders this season).
Character's ages is another consideration: Cassie Lang, for example, has been a preschooler, a middle-schooler, a teenager, and a young college aged woman in the comics (and back again...). What age she is would greatly impact the relationship she'd have with other, both young heroes and older mentors.
As well, there's the question of legacy: is her father Scott Lang a newly christened hero, or a veteran hero, or heck, is he alive or dead? Was she inspired by him to become a hero, or is she still too young to be considering that? If she is old enough, was his death what inspired her, or is she like a young Batgirl, going out heroing behind her fathers back?
How long have the older heroes been around? Was Cap thawed out 5 years ago, or 20? Is Isiah Bradely canon in this show, and if so, is his legacy known? What about Blue Marvelnote , and the rest of the 1950's heroes? How does their legacy/lack-of-legacy affect this young generation of heroes?
All things to consider.
The most important question: Who is the unlucky homeroom teacher?
Edited by Eldritcho on May 30th 2019 at 12:23:35 PM
And the teachers, really, were all there because they understood breaking bad: Hank Pym, of course, had his breakdown; Justice accidentally killed his own father and went to jail for it; Speedball took responsibility for the Stamford incident and was Penance for a while; Quicksilver has gone back and forth between hero and villain so many times; and Tigra had once been dominated by her cat side.
Read the first issue of Immortal Hulk. On the one hand it's damn good. On the other, it's not for everyone. The main thing is that this Hulk is not a Hero. He's an Anti-Hero at best and even that's dubious. The book itself is less of a straight super-hero comic and more of a horror book, but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable.

Avengers Academy is a good book, but in this hypothetical mashup of all the teen teams, who would be your pick for homeroom teacher?
Im gonna go with Clint. Tigra can be the headmistress. Hank can teach science.
Or maybe we can have an event comic that gets all of these teams together. I’m not usually a fan of event comics but it would make for a good excuse to unite a bunch of separate teenage teams. Heck, why not throw in a time displaced teenage Spider Man and Human Torch as an acknowledgement that they were the original teenage heroes of marvel. It could be like a celebration of Marvel’s teen heroes.
A bunch of teenage heroes were all put together as part of a kind of event. It was called Avengers Arena and loads of people hated it.
Also Infinity: The Hunt, which was also not very good.
Ok then maybe an event that actually has them working together towards a common goal rather than trying to murder each other
The YA have teamed up with the Runaways, as have the Academy kids. The Academy kids also teamed up with the X-men, as have the Runaways. The Runaways have also met up with the Loners, a bunch of former teen superheroes, and teamed up with Cloak and Dagger.
As far as everyone meeting up, well, there was that mini-arc in YA where all the teen teams go to a nightclub together. That was fun.

Which YA run was it? I want to check that out.
- Headmaster: Nick Fury
- Geometry: Reed Richards
- History: Captain America
- Biology: Curt Connors
- Geography (with field trips): Magik
- English: Thor
- Science: Dr. Strange
- Citizenship: Frank Castle
- Physical Education: Luke Cage
- Computer sciences: Vision
- Speech and debate: Hulk
- Woodshop: Johnny Storm
- Literature: Logan
- Sex education: Deadpool
Controversial opinion but Nick Fury shouldn’t be in charge of children
Also Valkyrie did a good job with sex education when she guest instructed Avengers Academy. It wasn’t what she was supposed to be teaching but she did a good job.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersValkyrie: "We're gonna get drunk and talk about fuckin'!"
Tigra: "I asked you to come in for a lecture on art history."
Valkyrie: "I know! It's a good thing I decided to go another direction. You're welcome."
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. In a perfect world, Avengers Academy would still be running.
Bleh.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundIt was such a good book
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI'm really hoping the MCU does a series of it or something.
Also for the comics to bring back Mettle one of these fucking days.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I do love that Valkyrie managed to be less responsible, as a guest lecturer, than Hercules. Like, Hercules showed up naked to teach teens how to wrestle, and he still wasn't the worst guest lecturer, because at least he didn't try to get the teens drunk before wrestling them.
And seriously, if Tigra hadn't stepped in, I expected Val's next speech bubble to be, "Now, who here is legal?"
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. And technically what Herc was teaching isn't exactly wrong.
Wasn't he supposed to teach sports or something? Wrestling neked was a thing back then after all.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
I was initially a bit down on Immortal Hulk, but knowing from solicits that Betty, Hulk and Rick all form a dysfunctional monster unit down the road makes me giddy.
