Rick Rememder is probably a very talented writer when it comes to his indie stuff but the sheer suckitude of Uncanny Avengers coupled with his pissbaby attitude pretty much sealed the deal on me ever reading his books.
And it wasn't even necessarily a bad allegory insofar as it wasn't really one to begin with. Rick Remender, through Havok and Scarlet Witch, flat out stated that "mutant" as a cultural identity doesn't exist and it's stupid to think so. Prejudice isn't wrong because we're all worthy of respect and dignity, it's wrong because the things that make non-white and LGBT people who they are, according to his 40 year old white guy, don't exist.

His X-Force is legitimately great stuff... if you don't mind the Age of Apocalypse timeline being given one of the largest Happy Ending Overrides I have ever seen in a work of fiction.

Late to the party on this dicussion, but throwing my 2 cents in. The X-Men fall apart as a metaphor for me 1-part because, as Tiamatty stated, there's already a lack of representation within the group and other part, Marvel refuses to show the X-Men thriving. Ever since House of M Marvel has had this fixation of "the X-Men must forever be persecuted" because that was the way Quesada remembered the X-Men as being growing up.

I still love Avengers Arena, namely for the gay love triangle and Cammi. Mettle’s death puts a damper on it, but I still remember my “holy shit they did it” shock at his death splash page.

It just bugs me though, why do the mutants in Marvel remain persecuted? I know real life we still have to deal with racism, prejudice, etc. but how is it still that mutants remain persecuted in Marvel?

I think you're misremembering(Or just didn'tread the book), because that wasn't live streamed. Arcade only released all recordings of the events of that island after it was all over.
So how were they "enjoying watching kids die" exactly? It wasn't like Danganronpa where there was an audience watching the broadcast.

There does seem to be a fear of progression at Marvel; it took years for Peter and Mary Jane to get back together and with the positive reception Old Peter got in Into the Spider-Verse, I hope Nick Spencer finally progresses to the marriage/kids for Peter.
This board isn't the first place I've heard people getting tired of the dire straights the mutants seem to be facing each year.
And yes, Arcade released the video after the Arena was completed. The kids even became quasi-celebrities because of it.
