She told Odinson that he needed to be Thor again, so that might be it for her riding the lightning.

Unless that was just because she knew she was about to die.

Meanwhile, T'Challa is back with Ororo and I'm more and more disappointed every day that Marvel won't just let the lightning people bang. LOOK HOW COOL THEIR DAUGHTER WOULD LOOK. We almost had HER instead of boring Ol' synergy-Valkyrie.

Well, now Thor has the hots for She-Hulk. For some reason. Having to do with something.

Remind of why again?

She gave him a smooch when he was freezing to death.

Although, the primary reason anyone should have the hots for New and Improved She-Hulk is because she's, well

Given that Jen’s mental state is rather compromised right now, is it wise to pursue a relationship with her? They should work on getting her help first. Then again, that tends to not be a priority for superheroes.

That's another thing: in She-Hulk's own book, she did get help and was doing a lot better. And then Aaron's Avengers had her be back to where she was, except green and not grey. With no explanation.

She's apparently been taking extra mindfulness lessons with T'Challa which he was going to test by throwing her to the press.

Anyway, its fairly reasonable that Thor and She-Hulk are into each other. There's proximity and then there's that each of them is historically the other's type. Thor apparently became smitten with Lady Sif watching her fight a monster. Had a one-night stand with a dark elf after a full day of murdering Malekith's agents together. And She-Hulk has a history of dating big buff slightly dim male models. Not that Thor is dumb but he does kind of shut his brain off when he's in a team environment compared to dealing with stuff solo. I mean she's dated Hercules (and made him do the walk of shame) and he's basically Thor lite.

My favorite thing about Mighty Avengers is the art. Ed Mc Guinness is comic books, for me. Bright colors, a sheen to it, everything's so dynamic and bold.

I think my favorite run of the Avengers is still Kurt Busiek and George Perez. Pretty much everything they did knocked it out of the park.

I've been reading 52 and a moment that stood out is when Alan Scott Green Lantern said he won't get counseling for seeing his daughter die and a bunch of superheroes get ripped apart and fused together by a transport beam and losing his eyes and gaining someone's eye.

"It's my job to set an example. I have to show we don't break like other people. We don't give in to fate."

Which is a hell of an unhealthy stand to take. Geez.

Considering that when DC superheroes did set up a trauma center for superheroes to get mentally healthy, it ended with almost everyone in the center dead, I, uh, wouldn't trust any DC superhero with their own mental health.

[up][up][up] Who the fuck wrote that shit? That is horrible. That is the absolute worst possible message to be sending. Getting help coping with your shit is A Good Thing. It doesn't make a person "broken." It makes them someone who gives a shit about their mental health.

So whoever wrote that bit was being an absolute asshole.

I think sometimes you have to remember that we, the reader, aren't always supposed to agree with a character. Sometimes characters are wrong and just can't accept it.

(I also don't remember that scene, but if it was from 52, it was written by either Geoff Johns, Mark Waid, Greg Rucka, or Grant Morrison. Considering that Alan Scott was a member of the JSA, whom Johns had been writing for a while, I'm going to make an educated guess it was Geoff Johns.)

[up][up]Yes but you have to actually acknowledge that the character is wrong. And considering that Alan's view on superheroes is one very common among DC fans and writers, I am highly suspect we were supposed to see Alan as wrong.

Alan isn't a main character in 52, but he did show up a couple times. I forget if this particular bit went anywhere. It certainly wasn't the focus of any of his appearances, but it could have come up and I just forgot about it.

Oh God! Natural light!

[up][up][up][up] Exactly. Given that a lot of people choose not to go for counseling specifically because they think it means they're "broken," having a superhero explicitly fricking say that going to counseling means you're broken, it was absolutely imperative that his view be repudiated. You need to have someone else call the character out for that, or have the character go through an arc leading to the realizing that counseling doesn't mean they're broken. Something other than leaving that as the last word on the subject. That moment is downright irresponsible.
