I believe those Justice League knock offs already found a solution till Namur & co bungled it for everyone.

As I recall Long March Towards Fatalism And I Guess Doom Is The Biggest Hero, they were just taking situations as they arose. They didn't have a long term plan just convictions and morals.

That's what led to the fight between them and the Illuminati. That and Namor. They started arguing over plans vs 'we'll figure it out'

Neither side really wanted to resort to destroying Universes. The Illuminati were (reluctantly) considering it if all else failed, while the Justice League expies weren't even going to humour it. But nobody wanted a fight, or to cross that line.

Then Namor crossed a line and Feces struck the rotational device.

It was darkly humorous actually in a terrible way.

The two groups are arguing over what to do and you can see Namor getting more and more frustrated and wrestling with his worser nature and then he just hucks a trident at Not-Batman because he's gotta be true to himself.

And his only defense was that they were going to end up here anyway so might as well stab right to it.

Basically to summerize this whole thing:

Squadron Supreme: “We should DO something!”

Illumanati: “Should we do something?”

Namor: “I DID SOMETHING! SUCK MAH DICK, BITCHES!!!”

Squadron Supreme: “Oh that’s it. We are SO doing something!”

Illumaniti: “Not on OUR watch of doing NO- er I mean SOMETHING!”

My point stands. If Namor did not had the stones to do the dirty work, the main Marvel universe would have been destroyed. And if not for Doom, all universes would be dead and the survivors of the raft would be still sleeping in stasis in the middle of the void. The Illuminati may have the morals, but proved to be completely useless during that time.

Dude your ignoring the fact that Namor’s whole “Blow up the alternate Earths” plan was merely just treating the syptoms than actually tackling the root of the problem. Yeah it bought them time before the Antimoniter’s Light Wall of Death arrive to fuck up their world, but I think if it weren’t for Namor being Namor the Illumanati would come up with some kind of sciency bullshit that would of saved their universe without the need of killing off multiple worlds to postpone their doom.

Hell, Namor would later on realize his impulsive plan was not working leading him to killed off his own Illumanti with Blackjacks and Hookers that he find useless (along with another world cause why the fuck not) and came crawling back to the original Illuminati after realizing he made a huge mistake.

So essentially:

Namor: “I shouldn’t have done something . . . but hey one more SOMETHING for the lulz.”

[up][up]Doom also started the incursions. the ayy lmaos were just killing one universe at a time by killing one molecule man, and than randum als bum aka doom killed one out of sync and started everyone earth colliding

Its also not great author fiat for a superhero comic to set up a situation where the only solution is to blow up Earths.

In any case, it's good material for a fanfic: Namor stands down, the prime earth is destroyed... and how do the Incursions story and the Secret Wars proceed from there?

The Illuminati was full of idiots thinking it was a great idea to go hide the fact that universes were being obliterated from the greater mystical and scientific community. Seriously, they could have tried to reach out and maybe one of those supergeniuses could have come up with a solution.

Haven't really read any comics in the last month despite buying a ton on sale.

Time to dig into Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur, which starts by making a reference to the 70s FF cartoon so we know it's the best Marvel comic out there right now.

Am I overstating its greatness if I say that Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur is the only comic that feels like classic Marvel in all the best ways?

[up]x3 Not sure really. All I do know is that current run does a better job at lampooning the current politcal climate better than Nick Spencers run on both Captain America books AND Secret Empire.

Speaking of said writer, he manage to actually get out of my shit list with his current run on Amazing Spider-Man for the sheer fact that he is unfucking the worst thing the Marvel editorial team has EVER done: ending the marriage of Peter and Mary Jane.

Sure its not completely undoing that deal he made with Mephisto in OMD, but the fact the two are back together after all these years brings a smile to my face.

Per Marvel Wikia, Good Steve is currently the real one, Stevil is a temporal duplicate created by Red Skull editing reality with Kobik.

I mean can we really say Captain Hydra was the real body. Steve's body was an old man's and was then replaced with a steve who was always hydra

Also the way that timeline alterations are usually handled in marvel made Stevil being the real one really suspect from the get go anyway

So basically the real Steve is the old man we saw prior to Secret Wars (2015), and the one we are seeing after the event is a Hydra copy made by Cosmic Cube-Tan with the original old man being stored as a back up inside (I think I forgot certain plot points of that story) Bucky’s memories and given a younger idealized body.

I know the X-Men and their confussing timelines have nothing to do with this story, but goddamn does this story does not sound out of place for their usual level of bullshit (Cable).

Yeah, given how Marvel alternate timelines work, I'm not sure where the belief that Stevil is "still" the real one even after the timeline was reset comes from, unless it's just a desire to dunk on Spencer more.

I read Nick Spencer's Sam Wilson run and I have to really turn my head at issue 17 where the Bombshells come up. I mean, I've met some dumb college students in my life, one of which tried to remove prayer from a Catholic school, but that does not compare to the Bombshells who are lethally hilarious because their dialogue is so dumb.
