I don't think Marvel Animation was restructured, it's just business as usual. I think more will be announced at the San Diego Comic-Con.

Just hang tight, folks.

Unless it's The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes coming back as a Disney+ exclusive, I haven't much to look forward to... tongue

The show , more specifically Black Panther's Quest (aka season 5), got another nomination for the NAACP Image Awards in the children's category. The show was also nominated last year, but lost to Doc McStuffins .

Take a look. I won't be surprised if Doc wins again this year. On top of that, this series didn't generate much buzz (outside of hardcore Marvel fans) from the public press .

Sorry if anyone cares but...yawn.

Let me know when they revive The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes as a Disney+ exclusive or come up with the Marvel equivalent of Justice League Action.

We get it, you miss an old show that ended seven years ago. You didn't have to mention it twice in the same page.

No offense, but you need to move on.

Eh. If he hadn't done it, someone else would have.

I'm still ....salty....(damn I hate that phrase) over The Spectacular Spiderman being cancelled. Especially since it was the last time they had an opportunity to explore Peter's teenage years in depth. Now that Miles is around, there's literally no point to teenage Peter.

The point is, I kinda get where he's coming from.

Honestly I feel it'd be easier to move on had the shown not been cancelled only for the purpose of being replaced by a vastly inferior show that was boring as hell and still was hyped and promoted by Marvel constantly despite almost nobody I met seemingly giving a crap about it.

Yeah, but you don't bring it up often.

Point is i liked Spectacular and EMH too, but i'm also over it.

[up]So am I. But I still think most of the Marvel shows that came after it were mediocre at best; the fact they replaced much better shows rubbed salt on the wound, true, but even if you ignore that, they weren't that good.

https://community.cbr.com/showthread.php?145561-T-Challa-The-Black-Panther-Appreciation-2021/page96

Geoffrey Thorne, who worked on Black Panther's Quest, recently talked about his time on the show. He certainly said some interesting things.

"Well, the old Marvel Animation is dead so I guess I can say.

There was a LOT of back and forth about this subject because the series was SUCH a big swing away from everything :ASSEMBLE had been. I think one idea was, yes, let's just call it a new series because so much about it is new and the focus is NOT on the avengers but on T'Challa and Wakanda. That was my vote.

Another idea was, :ASSEMBLE was done, regardless and now they'd start pivoting the AVENGERS cartoon to highlight whichever solo Avengers film was debuting in the upcoming time frame i.e. this one was BLACK PANTHER'S QUEST but the next one might have been CAPTAIN MARVEL:SHOOTING STARS (or something. that's not an actual title). And, I'd guess, they'd pull in a female show runner to handle that.

There's also the matter of how folks are paid. You get paid a LOT less for season five of an existing show than you do for season 1 of a brand new show. Certainly I, personally, would have made a lot more money and my title would have been different. That would have cost the company a LOT more money to make the same project.

I always think everything comes down to money with these folks so I'm pretty sure that's why the series wasn't billed as a solo series even though it CLEARLY was and it's also why the final episode was sort of a reset- putting T'Challa back on the team- really it made no sense for him to be there after all the events we just saw and the previous episode in particular.

I would love to do a book that continues the story from that universe (no mutants, no Namor, no FF, etc.). It would be much easier to do the things I want to do with the story without having to modify or erase the Coates run. But, as I keep saying, I'm pretty sure there's no appetite at Marvel for that.

The odds are VERY high that I'll be putting out an indie book- "Faux'challa" adventures- to cover that story if Marvel doesn't let me do it. It's just too good to let go to waste.

So, if you thought INVINCIBLE was the best version of Superboy, keep an eye out for mine."

Yeah, that's why I found it easy to jump onto this season of the show so easy. It is independent from the previous seasons of the show, so I didn't really feel the need to catch up on the rest of the show.

Except for the Hawkeye/Whitney Frost subplot, where I coincidentally happened to have watched the episode that started it beforehand.
