Got my wife to watch the trailer. She normally doesn't like FPS games but she is totally stoked for this one.

Man, I hope there is so much crossover art of those two games.

Anyways, I'll say she's doing an amazing job as our resident antihero. Fantastic job. Glad they're giving the player character a decent amount of... Well, character instead of just making them as bland as possible intentionally to make them easier to impose yourself onto them.

Cherami Leigh spent most of her career voicing cute characters, but she's demonstrated some more range recently. The first one that comes to mind is her performance as A2 in NieR: Automata, which was such a departure from her previous roles that I checked three sites before I finally believed it was her.

Good news. Cyberpunk 2077 will be showing up at this year's E3.

Was this ever in doubt? It was at the last one.

And according to a 2016 investor call they claimed a June 2019 release date. Now, whether that's being stuck to is in doubt. Add to that the deadline they got from the Polish government (Who invested a sizeable chunk with regards to City design etc)...

So we COULD see it this year.

Though 2020 would make sense thematically.

That being said, they may want to push something out of the door if Gwent hasn't performed well, plus with GOG taking a hit... this could be a good tactic.

Rumor that Lady Gaga joins CP2077. It's in Spanish. She was seen in the studio and allegedly is doing some motion capture.

I wonder if this is a genuine interest from her or a shilling attempt from the creators. Shilling probably is to strong of a word, with negative connotations, but CDPR might be addressing some of the criticism in this way.

I don't know. She seems to be open to various media elements and she is an actress. Plus if anyone fits that world it's her or Bjork.

I'm not sure shilling is the right word - they got Charles Dance in for Witcher 3 and he did sterling work.

Only worry i have is CDPR gets caught up in its own hype and we end up with vapourware (And INCREDIBLY unlikely scenario) - with the budget going on spurious cameos. But then again GTA always gets celebs in as well.

Oh, I agree it is too strong and negative word. I just couldn't think of one that is neutral-to-good with the same implication.

I posted a theory on the game's WMG page that Rockerboy Rockstar Johnny Silverhand might be dead, replaced by an Impostor or his protege or even the man himself is still alive but has uploaded his brain into a newer, younger body to continue singing.

Well this is an alternate universe (With the Pn P going with Cyberpunk RED) so he COULD have survived a nuke to the face.

One key question... will WE get to drive the sort of mech the Maelstrom gang leader does?!

I'm looking forward to the E3 presentation - hopefully some new shots at least. A walkthrough on the open world, or a new quest. Obviously I don't want them wasting time on a vertical slice and take that away from main game dev.

What's weird is this just makes me want to play the Witcher 3 again...

I mean, Gaga's involvement might be little different from Postmodern Jukebox being in Red Dead Redemption 2 or Linda Carter in Fallout 4.

OMG! Not only do we have a confirmed release date, April 16th, 2020, but Keanu Reeves is in the game as Johnny Silverhand!

Well there goes my theory that Silverhand is dead since Silverhand is played by an immortal.

Well, maybe. This article theorizes due to some flickering, he might have escaped into the Net. It also brings up that this had happened to Alt, so its not impossible.

Yeah I suspect this might not be Silverhand completely. The glitching and the fact that he is talking like he is part of V is very suspicious. Johnny Silverhand in the original tabletop games was also allegedly blond.

I suspect that either this V's own interpretation of what Silverhand was like or Silverhand did escape into the net and changed his appearance to avoid being pursued.

Overall that trailer was really cool although I am still a bit confused as to why Dex turned on V. You can't really be subtle in Night City....

He might have been dying his hair blond.

Y'all. Its a Johnny Silverhand song, some of the original lyrics are on the cover to 2020. Its a defictionalization of Chromatic Rock.

Keanu Reeves just joined CP 2077, yet I can only think about that we know exactly what Chromatic Rock sounds like now...

Looks like I was half right. Silverhand is dead but uploaded his mind into the net. Maybe he might serve as your mentor if you go full Rockerboy route and take down the city's corporate rulers.

Don't think I've seen anyone talk about it, so I'll say it.

I really goddamn hate the cover art. It has the "Bioshock: Infinite" problem of "We have a really unique and amazing setting with lots of cool images and visual aesthetics; How can we market it in the most boring and generic way possible? Oh! I know! White dude with stubble! And a gun! Totally original!"

Bah. Fuck that noise. Everything else seemed really good, if just I'm going to have to save money and revamp my PC in a year to max graphics it. That and I'm a little sad that everything I want to play won't be out until 2020 leaving a big RPG hole in my heart.

I've been quietly excited for cyberpunk for a long time, even more so with every reveal given but one thing that worried me were the rumours of gaga and such, as I thought they wouldn't just use the music but crowbar the celebrities in for sales.

Well I love it, Keanu can do no wrong and I accept my own hypocrisy. Very few celebrities have both garnered so much goodwill over the years and would fit the setting. Long live Johnny Glitchhand.

I think the box art is... in line with prior CDPR - look at ALL OF THE WITCHER GAMES. Geralt frowning, Geralt drawing a sword, Geralt enjoying tea whilst playing chess, Geralt with a vampire with no personal space boundaries.

What is interesting is how everyone thinks this is a spoiler. That "Dex will betray you!" except it seems fairly in line - this could be one of the multiple story branches (As I doubt CDPR would spoil a major twist in a pre-rendered trailer) - also Jackie dies on this job, so this could just be a way of framing that choices have consequence - go loud people can die and you may piss off your client.

And this was Male V, compared to how Female V handled things - Male Vs trailer characterisation seems to be GO LOUD!

But hell to the yeah about Johnny. That's, what, another Cyberpunkish character called John? (Mnemonic, Constantine (Dude does weird shady deals in an underworld using skills beyond most people...), Utah (Dude infiltrates a criminal gang and nearly turns), Rain (Another Assassin) Wick - hell, Wick would fit right in with Runners. He's practically a non cybered SOLO.)

So not only is Reeves an Immortal, he is destined to play EVERY JOHN IN MEDIA EVER.

I suppose with eternity, one needs hobbies.

The box art only reminded me of Doom 2016's box art. You know, tough guy holding a gun kind of genericness (luckily the alternate cover is far more badass).

As for game itself... yeah looking forward to it, DOOM Eternal having my heart or not.

I gotta ask question and forgive me if it's stupid and ignorant, but how well can you control drones? Can you have a mini-drone army in this game???
