In my view yes (suprising isn't it?) because the trends are not looking kindly to it

Just politely state your answer (yes or no) and why

And please, let us not devolve this thread into one where people just gush about the animation of Motorcity or Miniaturized Equids

Yes.

Traditional is dying because it is no longer a profitable business model. Hence, why some movies that were intended to be traditional/2-D are being violently reworked into ethier full CGI or CG/Mo-cap, like the upcoming Snow Que-I mean "Frozen" (former) and adaption of Bone (latter).

Yes, but I think flash is developing enough that the visual aesthetic will live on.

I just hope flash will be a worthy substitute. The last motion picture with flash I've seen (a crappy adaptation of Romeo and Juliet involving retarded seals) was atrocious to behold.

It's overall a pity traditional animation is being lost. One would think the obsession with anime would make some people to righteously revolt and murder the corporates behind the modern CGI studios.

[up] Umm, why? This isn't supposed to be a vendetta against CGI.

We don't need that debate in this thread. It already ate up the "Has Disney stopped doing Traditional Animated movies ?" (Granted I am at fault there.)

I am still bitter at the reworking of The Snow Queen to CGI and giving it that fucking awful name. Fuck you Disney marketing monkeys for changing it to "Frozen," fuck you.

It still doesn't deny the validity of the question of whereas Flash will be a decent substitute, or whereas the Romeo and Juliet adapation I've mentioned is an abomination worse than Gnomeoand Juliet.

damn, I actually liked the titles "Tangled" and Frozen...but yes, if that becomes a trend, it's a problem.

Flash is similar enough that I don't consider it to be distinct from traditional animation.

I actually think that Sealed with a Kiss (the film Carlos was talking about) had suprisingly good animation for Adobe Flash.

Really, the only show I've seen with Flash animation that works reasonably well is Friendship Is Magic.

So Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends is chopped liver, as well as most web toons?

Never been a fan of Foster's, but that isn't due to the art. It slipped my mind.

As for the web animation, I was under the impression we mostly meant TV and movies in this thread.

[up]I'm with your, Foster's lost me after the pilot movie, but it's animation was pretty good.

Saying Fosters and Miniaturized Equids' animation is good

ohwaityoureseriousletmelaughevenharder.avi

Please take off your McCracken/Faust goggles off

Miniaturized Equids' animation is better than most flash (due to the fact that has smear frames) But's its still Adobe Flash

Adobe Flash Animation levels

1. Adobe Flash that tries to make the illusion to traditionally drawn animation ie Sealed With A Kiss

2. Adobe Flash that has smear frames ie Spliced

3. Adobe Flash that does not have smear frames and uses the same character model for pretty much every scene ie the work of Fresh TV

I'm not a fanboy, I just thought it was a good show that was done in Flash. Literally the only other show I've seen by that team is PPG. Quite frankly, I'm not sure I ever want to watch MLP or whatever that other show is.

Wow I'm getting overly defensive about this.

EDIT: Oh, wait, Miniaturized Equids IS...why are we referring to that show euphemistically now?

What is with your grudge against Flash, anyway? It's no less "real" animation than traditional pen & paper (which also uses cheats like smear frames, and on average isn't any more impressive-looking when one compares made-for-TV content).

Also, Motorcity.

Just prefer Traditionally Drawn Animation to it.

And Napoleon, do you really think Pucca had good animation?

And R.T you didn't read the first post

It's hardly fair to do a comparison and put discussing two of the best conter-examples off-limits.
