An article about the situation from GamesRadar has said that despite the Toys for Bob devs tweeting saying they're leaving, Crash 4 isn't entirely abandoned?
So...anyone thinking it's just a feeble attempt at damage control? Because all I can think about is Activision basically saying "Oink oink oink."

What does "oink" mean in this context?
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.It's hard to explain, but I'm going to try:
Gaming was mainstream back in the classic arcade days, but then the crash of '83 happened and gaming was seen as a mere fad. Then the NES came along and made gaming popular in North America, but then for a period of time gaming was considered to be pretty much a "kid's thing" and you were considered weird for playing video games if you were an adult. It became more accepted by the mainstream masses by time of the Wii, PS3, and 360. That said, it was starting to become more accepted during the PS2 days, but gaming was still somewhat considered to be a geeky thing at the time.
Basically for a long period of time, gaming was thought to be a "kid's thing" but then it became more acceptable for older people to play video games. There are still people who don't realize that gaming is not just a "kid's thing" anymore, though.
Public viewpoint of gaming has changed and thus gaming became a more accepted thing.

You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!I'm hyperbolically insinuating that Activision are speaking like a bunch of self-congratulating coporate pigs in an effort to descalate the situation, but we can't know for sure if they're just lies.
Seriously, I'm still not all that confident that having all their studios developing for goddamn Call of Duty will bode well for Activision. That's a sword of Damocles just begging to be dropped from the ceiling, pointy end facing down.

What about Beenox? Are they busy working on Call of Duty as well?
Thanks a lot, Activision! Now we'll never get a PC version of CTR: Nitro-Fueled!
They've done COD more than once, so...yes?
And we don't have a Steam version of CTR: Nitro-Fueled yet? Well, that's just leaving money on the table...

Considering what Toys for Bob specialised in, we’re not losing much. Repetition and mimicry will only get you so far. With that in mind, Call of Duty is right up their alley.
I mean, Crash 4 played things safe, but that seems like a reasonable choice given the series died the last time the games went totally off the rails. For the first new game in a long time, it makes sense to start with something similar to the originals that most of the fanbase agrees were the best. If they keep making sequels, it will probably get more experimental with time, though with more caution to avoid killing the franchise again.
I'm not convinced this spells doom for Crash or Toys for Bob, anyway though. I'm pretty certain it's just a temporary thing to fix whatever issues they're having with CoD.

I missed the part where that's my problem.Wow, look at this guy with the spicy takes.
Trans rights are human rights.Call of Dudy is a black hole that consumes studios too fuel its endless cycle of repetition.
Which is a real damn shame.
I genuinely wonder if you actually played Crash 4 because that is just so many levels of wrong.
Check out Rogues Gallery Transplant: The GameYeah, part of me feels like Activision's idea is "if they made a good game, they definitely can make a good Call of Duty game, right?" without realizing the bigger picture.
I'm not sure if that's true, but given how well Crash 4 did regardless, it almost sounds plausible. And yes, I'm not fully convinced by their attempt at damage control. Don't think a lot of people are, really.
Sends me into hyperspace, when I see her pretty face…Crash and Cortex's voice actors teasing something.
The way it's worded suggests a possibility it's not a game, but either way, it's at least probably something related to the franchise.
SoundCloudIt's probably a voice pack for Call of Duty, or something.
lol that would be hilarious hearing a soldier go "woah!".
Whatever happened to that Wumpa League teased a while back? Might be related to that or 4 DLC.
Uni catI’m gonna be livid if it comes to that. Seriously, to heck with COD…

I would argue the transition was starting to happen in the Xbox/ PS 2/ Game Cube era due to the incredible popularity of both Halo and Grand Theft Auto, but Japan was still overall dominant.

Didn't they outright say they were done with new CTR content? I mean, what characters are left for them to add at this point?
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonWhile the characters are pretty much covered, new tracks and costumes are an almost endless wellspring. It's About Time alone introduced several new worlds that would make for great tracks.
Elora?
I mean, I thought Crash was as good as dead again, no thanks to Activision being a bunch of COD-loving pigs.
Finding out that Crash 4 and THPS 1+2, made big bucks makes Activision's decision even more agonizingly infuriating. Downright insulting.
Crash is not dead just because one studio got screwed over. Crash is doing fine, a lot of people forget Crash on the Run is doing well too and that came out this year.
I know, mobile gaming is crap but its still is something
Uni cat
Huh? Gaming has been mainstream. It's why arcades existed back then. What they changed is publishing, and mostly because of ties to technology companies.
